Chapter 59 - Worthless
Chapter 59 - Worthless
Who is Jennifer? What is her importance in his life? Javier had no answers to it himself. All he knew was enough to say he is worthless in her absence in his life.
Javier lifted his cold eyes to face his father who just asked him the question, about which he isn't aware of himself.
"Sh...She.. is someone whose status can't be defined in my life." A short and crisp reply made Charles as well as Shawn and Shirley totally speechless.
They had no idea what this new girl did to their child who is now entirely against them so easily. Has she done any kind of magic on their son?
"I sent my bodyguards and you just ordered them not to take her. Why Javier?! If she is not so important then let her be in the cells where she should rot!" Til now, Shawn was utterly confused.
Though his face didn't speak much itself, his heart was stunned to see the distant side of his second son. No, he never expected this but suddenly the girl entered their son's life, making him revolt against his father which is making his blood boil at the next level.
Javier didn't say anything further to them and turned around to look at his brother who was a hell of worried. "Listen to me Javier, this is..a ..mess..y-"
Javier held his brother's shoulders firmly and looked deep into his eyes, "Brother… we will meet some other time. I would love to have some talks like before but right now, I have to go."
Charles sealed his mouth immediately and communicated with his brother through his eyes. Says, blood relationships are stronger than anything and in his case, his relationship and bond with his brother was something beyond this World.
No one can define what they have gone through, since they had each other's back in the tough time when their father brought his mistress, her child, and the mishap with their mother.
After a few seconds, his brother simply nodded his head, "I will be waiting for you to call then. Keep yourself safe and don't let anyone come closer."
Shirley witnessed Javier and Charles exchange words and something struck her mind with a dangerous glint appearing on her face.
Changing her expressions to a more lovely and sweet gesture, she said, "You have come home after so long, at least have some lunch with us."
"Having lunch with a mistress isn't my style. You guys go ahead while I take my leave. No need to worry about me... since you haven't done the same from the past few years too!" The sweet smile vanished from her face when those harsh and insulting words entered her ears.
In this household, no one ever dared to speak against her, because of her status yet her reality was still the same. The children never showed any kind of respect towards her despite the marriage with their father.
'This man has grown more and more… outrageous. Looks like I will need to keep an eye on him now..' her thoughts burst when her dear husband, who was noticing her mold expressions, held her waist tenderly.
"Sorry for his attitude. It looks like.. he is in a bad mood today." Shawn was displeased yet he dared to cover up his son's mistake in front of his wife.
As expected, Shirley kept her hand on his heart with a honey glaze, "He is your son so it also makes me his mother. I know him too. Hopefully, everything will be fine."
Charles simply witnessed the exchange between the two and a scoff left his lips. 'Such a drama queen is she. Oh, Gosh, who even likes this kind of? honey trap nowadays?' But then his eyes glanced at his father who was still overstruck like a teenager and just rolled his eyes.
He was too ready to leave after his brother walked off from their mansion after showing his face but he halted in his steps when his father's voice was heard, "Charles. I have something to talk about."
He turned around and nodded to his father, "Yes?"
"Your brother… keep an eye over him. Make sure that he doesn't fall for that girl which will not bring any good to us." A delightful smirk landed on his face when he understood his father's deeper meaning.
Charles folded his hand in front of his body and lifted his chin to ask, "Before interfering in his personal affair, why don't you first settle your messed-up love life… Which is even more and more complicated than ours?"
With his reply out, Charles turned around and left to go back to the room, leaving his father thunderstruck from top to bottom.. he never imagined that his eldest son would also not take his side.
But Shirley knew that this wasn't entirely for her husband but also directed towards her. He turned her because of the secret he knows and she can only dig her nails into her hand.
But at the same time, she forced an artificial smile and hugged her husband from behind, "Worry less or your blood pressure will rise. Everyone will be alright, wait for a few days."
"I hope for the same, otherwise these children of mine will give me a heart attack."
...
At the same time Jennifer, Ryan, and Ellen were standing out, in the wait for Javier who was still inside with his family.
God knows what they are talking about but Jennifer was finding it really difficult to let herself be on the waiting list.
Since she was in a dillema that something major must not happen, Ellen's words left her in curiosity to know if Javier and his family have some secrets too? 'Simply looking at Javier, I can see he has too many things to hide..'
It was no less guess that he isn't on good terms with his family, something in contrast with what she has gone through since from the very start, she has too much love for her parents and brother.
Yes, something she might go against them but in the end, they are her family.
Biting her nails, Jennifer waited until Javier showed up out on the campus. The man in black, who were earlier passing daggers, can relate that it was their job. Knowing that she is Lucas's bride, they have to carry out their job carefully too.
Her back faced the car, where she stood with its support, deeply absorbed in her thoughts when the voice entered in her ears.
"Who are you?! What are you doing here?!"
