—Gareth’s PoV—-
“Yes, master, we still couldn’t feel any pain or get exhausted, but we could taste foods and starting to feel countless emotions,” I explained the strange occurrence that happened lately.
Somehow, the master’s presence felt different from before. I knew master’s otherworldly intelligence, he’s a natural genius. But before, he’s a type that would take anything that benefits or challenging him, while he indeed has an irregular thirst for knowledge, but he never shows to anyone his thinking appearance.
“Interesting… An emotion whirl and the sudden ability to taste the food at a body of an undead that should be unfunctional. I see… I do have some guesses, the highest possibility is that this is one of the influence from me, that is my real form, a human,” (Lich Oz)
But this lich clone of the master. Somehow has a more sinister aura, and didn’t hide its intelligence. I could totally see how a genius the master at the lich clone is. He talked as if he had planned everything in his head.
“Just like the reason why you lots could rank up much easier, it’s because of the concept that I know is the concept of levels. And your body starts to change according to my body way of improving, and that’s why the skeletons started to feel emotions that a human, like what my real body is, feels,” (Lich Oz)
“I see… So that’s the reason, it does make sense,” I agree with the master’s deduction.
“Well, make sense or not, it’s just a theory that didn’t have much proof at all. But I guess it’ll suffice for the people to hear. By the way Gareth, I actually came because of another reason, I have a request for you,” Master suddenly said to me.
That’s strange, for the master to have a sudden request, I somehow feel that he’ll ask an absurd thing.
“A request, master?” (Gareth)
“Yes, could you send me to the undead world, Gravendath?” The master asked me with his usual tone.
“T-t-to the undead world!? What need do you have there, master? it’s a very dangerous place!” I got flustered because of it and shouted.
“Relax, Gareth. I’m only a clone, even if in a one in a million chance, I died, I could get summoned again by my real body. I’m aware of the undead world’s danger, but I couldn’t just let such a military power to go to waste,” the master said with full of confidence.
“A-a waste? Are you intend to search and recruit some undead from there, master?” (Gareth)
“That is only one of the numerous reasons I’m interested in the undead world, Gareth. One of the other reasons is I like to absorb all of the undead and dark magics to my grimoire of death. Somehow, the clones will take the skills that the body recognize as compatible,” (Lich Oz)
“And because of that, I could gain an unprecedented power if I go to the undead world where I could also absorb the endless mana of death there. So could you please help me go there, Gareth?” (Lich Oz)
“I see… If you say so, master. But may I follow you there?” I asked the master.
“Then who will defend this region if you’re not here? I won’t die that easily, Gareth,” (Lich Oz)
“I understand, master. But how do you know that I could send you there?” I asked the master as it piqued my curiosity.
“Hm? You have that skill, right? [Gate of Gravendath]” (Lich Oz)
!!!???
“H-how do you know it, master?” (Gareth)
I indeed have that skill after I rank up to the [King] rank, but I haven’t even reported that skill to the master, and the master never checked up on my status since the last time. So where does he know that?
“I knew that skill from a book, and your behavior when I mentioned the undead world is enough for me to knew that you possess that skill,” (Lich Oz)
“I see… Please forgive me for hiding that skill from you, master…” I apologized as I kneel to my master.
“It’s fine, I never ordered anyone to show their skills to me either. But since you feel that you’ve done something wrong, then Gareth Gravendath, your punishment is to send me to the undead world and defend this region from anything that may harm the empire,” The master said to me.
When the master said that words, I couldn’t help but got surprised. How could even the master know my full name? Or does he just make a random guess?
“Y-yes master…” (Gareth)
“Open the gate, dear Gareth Gravendath. It’s time for the sinners to feel the pain of their punishment, it’s time to judge the sinners. As the contract that thee had made with me, I’ll save thy captured friends and retainers, now let the gate to the world of death opened,” (Lich Oz)
“Gate of Gravendath!” (Gareth)
“Gate of Gravendath!” (Lich Oz)
A huge gate that had greater death mana than I ever saw before appeared before us.
I see…
“You have my thanks, Gareth. The skill had entered my grimoire too because of you,” Said master as he steps closer to the gate.
“What an interesting gate, well, Gareth. Protect the empire when I’m gone, okay?” Said the master without turning his back.
I see…
Living here had made me started to forget about the past, the tragedy that will always incur my wrath each time I remembered about it.
But it seems that as I tried to forget the tragedy, even though I don’t care the promise master told me, the promise when he said he’ll revenge them for me, when I’m getting soft, the master took the hatred from me.
The words he said as if it lifted the heavy load at my shoulders. His voice is filled with a dense murderous intent, but I could still sense a sliver of gentleness in the tone. As if it is a father that’s going to punish those who made his children suffer.
What a great master I’ve blessed with…
***********************************
—Third Person’s POV—
A world filled with darkness, malice, and hatred.
A world filled with death.
A world that no living being will be able to survive.
“What a splendid world,” (Lich Oz)
KACHAKACHAKACHAKACHA!
Countless undead is roaming everywhere. Skeletons, banshees, ghouls, and numerous other undead types.
When the lich Oz appeared, he stole all of their attention.
“I see, so this is a region that ruled by another undead. In normal occurrence, they should be kneeling to me and serve me when they saw my mana,” (Lich Oz)
KACHAKACHAKACHAKACHA!
The sound that came out from a skeleton when they move surrounded the place. And all of them started to attack the lich Oz.
“But it’s fine, it will be a benefitting experiment, and I could even take the skills that I haven’t have yet. Time to test the mana of the undead world. [Dark Typhoon]!!!” (Lich Oz)
A huge typhoon that keeps on getting bigger by absorbing the dark magic that lingers at the air appeared and crushed all of the undead at Gareth’s sight.
“What a pleasant sensation…” (Lich Oz)
Together with the death of the monsters, a tremendous amount of experience point flowed into the lich Oz. The lich Oz suddenly heard a prompt, saying that he leveled up. Oz managed to kill hundreds of undead with that spell.
“A feeling of an increase in mana power is very pleasant, and to think that by using just one spell, I could summon such a huge dark typhoon and levels up, going to the undead world is indeed a fruitful decision,” (Lich Oz)
<The grimoire of death had absorbed some spells from the undead creatures that had been killed by host>
<Life Absorbing spell [Special] Acquired>
<Puppet spell [Special] Acquired>
<Soul Cage spell [Special] Acquired>
<Spell of Doom [Special] Acquired>
<Idol of Death spell [Special] Acquired>
<All of the spells will be transferred to the grimoire of death>
“Marvelous! An increase in power in just one spell! Truly Splendid!” Lich Oz celebrated.
“Hm? Looks like the territory owner immediately came here after he saw the dark typhoon,” (Lich Oz)
“You… Who are you?” A huge mummy that uses a crown on top of his head asked the lich Oz.
“Me? I suppose you don’t have any need to know it. Hm? So it’s a duke rank, what a good catch, I’ll be needing your knowledge and assistance, would you want to serve under me?” (Lich Oz)
“We only serve those with power…” (Mummy Duke)
“I see… Then let’s try subduing you with force, it’s a perfect chance to experiment with my new skills. [Soul Cage],” (Lich Oz)
With lich Oz’s terrifying control of death mana, the spell got activated with much stronger power. A huge cage that restrains the soul of the Mummy Duke with countless chains appeared and strangled the Mummy Duke.
“Splendid spell, now, [Spell of Doom]” (Lich Oz)
Boom!
An explosion as big as a bomb explosion appeared with the death mana made the damage doubled. The Mummy Duke finally realize the strength of his opponent, but no need to mention how he couldn’t cast a spell, he couldn’t even talk because of the [Soul Cage] spell.
“Good damage, next, let’s combine both of the spells. [Idol of Death] [Puppet]” (Lich Oz)
Lich Oz suddenly emitted a strange aura of death that different from the usual death aura, and together with the strange aura, countless strings that only the Lich Oz could see covered the whole body of the Mummy Duke.
“Serve me, [Soul Cage] Dispel,” (Lich Oz)
Crack! Crack!
The cage cracked and shattered to pieces, and slowly disappear to the thin air, leaving the Mummy Duke kneeling at Lich Oz.
“Forgive my ignorance, master. I, Manistrode, kneel before your strength and wish to serve you,” The Mummy Duke kneeled and said to Lich Oz politely.
“Give me your army, wealth, and knowledge. We’ll wage war to the whole Gravendath! All shall kneel before me!!!”
