Chapter 31: Envious Seraphina?
While he should have been angry at the lack of details, the Viscount found himself swayed by her words. The uncharacteristic softness in Seraphina's tone, coupled with her respectful address, and his support for the saying, "The ends justify the means," and also, if Seraphina vouched for Leon's plan, it must have merit.
"If it means saving Amelia, I trust your judgement," he said, his voice firm but understanding.
After the Viscount said that, Seraphina replied with a thoughtful "Hmm," her eyes following Leon as he began to enter the array.
Many things ran through her mind at that moment. Despite her growing feelings for Leon, she couldn't comprehend why he would be so bold as to enter the dangerous blizzard. She noticed that neither the Viscount nor the butler made any move to stop him, which puzzled her even more.
'How can he be so confident in his weak state?' she thought, her mind racing.
'He's just a mortal. Entering the blizzard is a death wish. But why didn't they stop him?' She looked towards the butler, her gaze questioning, wondering if perhaps she had misjudged something.
The Viscount, noticing her confusion, spoke up. "Oh, is it why Leon is entering the blizzard while he's a mortal? First, I don't think he's a mortal, and secondly, the reason is better witnessed than explained. Don't worry, you'll understand in a few seconds."
Curiosity piqued, she focused her gaze on Leon's back as he moved deeper into the array. Her heart, heavy with worry for him, began to lighten. If the Viscount said that he would be okay, perhaps she had indeed misjudged him. Maybe he wasn't a mortal after all, but a cultivator concealing his true strength.
Her gaze never left him, and then, her eyes widened in astonishment. As Leon entered the blizzard, the fierce icicles that should have torn him apart instead parted, forming a protective bubble around him. It was as if they had a mind of their own, refusing to harm him.
Seraphina was still in shock, unable to believe what she was seeing. The Viscount beside her sighed, his voice tinged with awe. "No matter how many times I see this, I don't think I'll ever be able to get used to it. It's indeed magical."
'That means... he and Amelia have done it.' Seraphina instantly knew what was happening. Her face flushed a deep rosy hue as her thoughts spiraled.
She never imagined, not even once, that Leon and Amelia had reached that level of intimacy. It was crazy, but it also meant Amelia held a special place in Leon's heart.
Instead of feeling disheartened, she found herself yearning for him even more. She didn't mind sharing him with another woman, and she was sure Amelia wouldn't either.
'What am I even thinking?' She scolded herself inwardly, feeling embarrassed. She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole. The lewd thoughts were completely out of character, and she didn't know what had come over her.
'I should think of a way to save Amelia just in case Leon's plan doesn't work,' she resolved, trying her best to push Leon to the back of her mind, at least for the moment.
Although she felt strangely confident that Leon would pull through, the circumstances didn't fully support that notion.
Surviving the intense cold of the blizzard proved that Leon was a cultivator with an ice affinity and resistance, but that didn't necessarily mean his yang energy would be strong enough to subdue Amelia's raging yin.
To subdue Amelia's yin for an hour, one needs to be at least in the Foundation Establishment realm. The higher one's realm, the more potent their yang or yin depending on their gender. A person in the Core Formation realm can subdue Amelia's yin physique for three hours.
A person at the Nascent Soul realm can subdue it for seven to eight hours. A person at the Spirit Severing realm can subdue it for ten to twelve hours, while a person at the Dao Seeking realm can subdue her yin physique for about sixteen hours.
The highest known realm of cultivation, the Immortal Ascension realm, can only subdue her yin physique for twenty-four hours to twenty-six hours. While these estimates are not completely accurate, they're close enough to the real time her physique can be subdued.
All this shows how strong Amelia's physique is. Regardless of her cultivation, her yin and frost essence are so potent they rival those of ancient cultivators at the peak of their power.
Despite these staggering facts, the idea of Leon's plan to fuck Amelia in the blizzard had Seraphina feeling a mix of emotions. She was excited, a bit envious, and strangely, she found herself wishing she were in Amelia's place.
'Why do I feel this way?' she wondered, her face heating up as her thoughts spiraled. She had always been in control of her emotions, her icy demeanor a shield against the world.
But now, watching Leon stride confidently into the blizzard, she felt a warmth spread through her that was entirely unfamiliar.
"Do you think he'll succeed?" the butler asked, his voice breaking through her thoughts.
The Viscount, his eyes never leaving the blizzard, nodded slowly. "I believe in him. Even though I don't know why, I'm not against it. Since you don't have a way to subdue her Physique we have no choice but to give him a try..."
Seraphina's mind was a whirlwind. 'If Leon can truly help Amelia, it would be a miracle. But how? He's just...'
Her thoughts trailed off as she watched Leon move deeper into the storm, the icicles parting for him as if recognizing his resolve. It was mesmerizing, almost surreal, to see the fierce blizzard yield to his presence.
"He's not just anyone," she murmured to herself, finally acknowledging the unique aura that surrounded Leon. 'There's more to him than meets the eye.'
