The Male Lead’s Villainess Stepmother

Chapter 64 - Bad Decision (3)

Chapter 64 – Bad Decision (3)

Yan Shuyu thought that the floor was quite dust-free and clean, but she listened to him nonetheless and placed her bags right smack between them, like little kids drawing boundaries between the desks, nobody was allowed to cross over to the other side.

This way, she could keep a safe distance from the boss. She thought she was a genius to have come up with that. The proud and self-contented Yan Shuyu looked up at the boss and smiled. “Thank you, Boss Zhou.”

“You are welcome,” said Zhou Qinhe as he scanned over the colorful plastic bags. He could see through every thought that had crossed her mind. He wasn’t bothered by them, though, just looked back after her after a quick glance, smiled, and said, “Looked like you had a great time shopping today.”

“Oh, I had an alright time.” She might be polite in her speech, but her smile brightened some more. Of course she was happy having purchased so much new clothes.

“Are you going to shop some more?”

“No, if I shop any more, I will be broke.”

“Then what are you going there for?”

“Watch a movie and have dinner, of course!”

Since she had gotten into the car, she was busy experiencing the exalted leather seat followed by chitchatting with the boss, so she never noticed that the street view was not the same as where she was earlier. She was still a bit at a loss when the driver stopped the car.

“Oh, we are here?”

She was just about to open the door as she was speaking but Zhou Qinhe stopped her, “That’s the road side. It’s not safe, get out from my side.”

“Oh, okay. Thank you.” Yan Shuyu was particularly compliant when she was out of it. Obediently, she got out of the car after the boss.

As soon as her feet hit the ground, she immediately saw the front of a large and classy mall. Yan Shuyu was still wondering why she didn’t think the mall was so classy earlier when she caught sight of the familiar plastic bags that the boss was right now carrying in his hands and she panicked.

The boss was carrying her shopping bags. Bags that didn’t even add up to 4-digits in total. To what did she owe that pleasure? Yan Shuyu was stunned for a second before she reached out and said, “Thank you so much for everything, Boss Zhou. I can carry those myself.”

“No problem,” said Zhou Qinhe gently. Having no intently of handing them over to her, he turned and said to Robin, “Why don’t you guys head back without me?”

The workplace elite now looked as stunned a Yan Shuyu, “What about you, Boss Zhou?”

Zhou Qinhe turned and looked at the still dumbfounded Yan Shuyu and replied happily, “A movie sounds relaxing, and I haven’t watched one in a long time.”

“…..” Robin was speechless. He had been working with Boss Zhou for years and had never seen him relaxing by going to a movie in a mall. He couldn’t help but said, “But….”

Before he could finish what he was going to say, Boss Zhou smiled at him and said, “I think the work today has more or less been taken care of, so it shouldn’t be a problem that I take off earlier, right?”

Robin, “……”

What more could he say after the BOSS had said that? He could only nod with tears in his eyes, “Yes, Boss Zhou, have a good time with Ms. Yan then.” BOSS was happy, alright, but he was probably going to have to pull an all-nighter himself. In addition to finishing his portion of work, he’d also have to take care of BOSS’s urgent documents and meetings since he decided to have an early day.

Had he known that was going to happen, he would never have told Boss Zhou when he spotted Ms. Yan on the side of the road – thought Robin as he cried his naïve tears in regret. =.=

Yan Shuyu didn’t feel particularly blessed either. She suddenly realized that she had made a mistake – why did she decide to go watch a movie???
