The Moon Thief

Chapter 31: Unexpected Situation

Chapter 31: Unexpected Situation

Heinald had the usual uneasiness when he came out. He had a thoughtful expression on his face as he was riding through the spacious and flamboyant streets of the city. If he had a Protective Type Magic Treasure, he would feel much safer.

Unfortunately he didn't have one of them, actually he had not even seen.

Heinald sold his potions in the shop where he always sells it, and bought two books from the same shop containing information about the Fairy Race.

He immediately returned to his home without much delay outside, activated Defense Formations and quickly read the books he bought.

He learned not only about Imps, but also about other fairies from the books.

Imps could be captured by Trap Formations but Imps were not stupid beings, they could spot it unless the Trap Formation was prepared very professionally.

Moreover, their target was not an ordinary Imp.They had to catch the Imp Chief, and he had no clue of his strength and abilities.

Another option was to neutralize it by injuring it. Elemental spells could injure the Imps although they did not have a physical body. However, this was very risky; the amount of injury had to be balanced very well.

"I will discuss this with Lady Yetenna. It would be better if she decides which path to follow." Heinald settled on this thought after thinking for a while.

The next day he went to the City Guard's Headquarters. When Lady Yetenna was informed that Heinald wanted to meet her, she immediately accepted him. When Heinald entered, he saw the beautiful woman with her usual solemn expression.

"Mr. Heinald, have you made a decision?" Lady Yetenna asked in a calm voice.

"As a result of my research, I decided that I could help you." Heinald nodded.

"I'm glad to hear that. So how do you intend to imprison it?"

"Our first option is to lure the Imp Chief into a Trap Formation. However, it can be difficult because the Imps are not stupid. The second option is to injure and neutralize it, but this option is also risky because it could die." Heinald offered options. Because Imps did not have a physical body, when they died their spirits were torn apart and completely destroyed.

"I need Imp Chief alive. The second option is not acceptable." Lady Yetenna shook her head.

"My lady, can you tell me more about the Imp Chief?" Heinald asked.

"Sure. What do you want to know?" Yetenna nodded.

"I learned that the Imps hate strangers who enter their habitat. When we enter the forest, we are likely to be attacked many times. What is the power level of the Imp Chief and the other Imps in the forest?"

"The strength of the Imp Chief does not exceed the might of a Level 1 Ainsar. However, he has a high level of manipulation ability. Don't be fooled by its mind tricks. His mind games might even trick me, a Level 2 Ainsar." Yetenna answered.

"My Lady, we will need the Sin Stone to imprison it."

"No problem." Yetenna nodded.

Heinald and Lady Yetenna agreed to go to the Yearwind Forest tomorrow. After leaving the City Guard's Headquarters, Heinald visited Ranton and learned information about the Yearwind Forest from him.It was assumed that about fifty Imps lived in this forest. Thats why people generally not preferred to move through the forest due to the aggressiveness of the imps. Of course, the forest was not a problem for Level 2 Ainsar and more powerful beings.

Heinald met with Lady Yetenna at the eastern gates of the city the next day, paying particular attention to his surroundings on the way; his eyes and made sure he was not being watched.

The Yearwind Forest was not far from the city, after a quiet 5-hour travel, they had reached the entrance to the forest. Lady Yetenna had never spoken during the journey, and Heinald was silent as he did not need to speak. He spent more time thinking about what the Imp Chief was like.

"Alright, be prepared from here. Imps can make sudden attacks." Yetenna looked around.

Heinald began to look around with all his attention, he was moving slowly through the trees on the horse. The forest was quiet, not even a bird sound could be heard. The only sound heard was the footsteps of the horses and the rustle of the gently blowing wind.

"Do you know the location of the Imp Chief?" Heinald asked.

"Yes. In the middle of the forest." Yetenna nodded.

"Then I will set up a Trap Formation before we get close to the middle." Heinald had a Trap Formation based on the Fire Element that he knew.

Together, they continued to move deeper into the forest.

"Why is this forest so quiet?" Heinald asked.

"I don't know ... What's interesting is that we haven't seen any Imp yet." Yetenna made a graceful gesture.

"Ah,there!" Lady Yetenna pointed her hand across.

Ahead was a round and hollow area, like a crater but an expertly made crater. There was a tree in the middle and a hole in front of the tree. There was nothing around, oddly enough, he was almost getting used to it.He hadn't even seen an insect in this forest.

"Should I set up the Trap Formation here?" Heinald asked.

"You don't have to bother." Heinald was startled more than he had ever before, with the sound behind him. He felt a needle stick in his neck, and when he turned around he saw a tall and slender figure. He was covering his face with a white porcelain mask, unable to sense his aura.

"Good to see you, Hamra." When Heinald turned to Lady Yetenna, he saw her smile for the first time, a smile she would never forget, cold, insidious, humiliating, and demonic, and his whole body began to cool and tremble uncontrollably.

"I must say that you actually impressed me. You were able to really reveal my plan and spoil it. I wish we had met in a different way, maybe we could cooperate with you." Hamra shook his head.

Heinald's entire body was numb and unable to move any part of it. Yetenna had placed him on the back of her horse.

"Yetenna told me that someone put you on duty. While I was thinking about who this might be, I got the intelligence that Marcus visited you. Well, once we find a decent place, you will tell me everything you know about Marcus. If you choose not to, I would choose not to be polite." Hamra started to steer the horse.

"Do you think he'll know we're here?" Yetenna asked.

"Marcus is a fool, he can't do tracking and investigating, but he's pretty good at finding and manipulating people to get things done for him. This young man also seems to be one of his victims..." Hamra giggled.

"So?" Yetenna frowned.

"I don't think Marcus will come here." Hamra shrugged.

His long black cloak and hair waved synchronously in the gently blowing wind. His dressing style and the mask on his face gave him a very mysterious appearance. Though this man was already quite a mysterious person, it was normal for him to appear this way.

Suddenly, Hamra's steps stopped and he quickly looked around.

"Someone has entered the forest. Get rid of this guy and leave the forest. Don't use magic, otherwise our place will be determined."

"Should I throw him off the Deepnight Cliff?" Yetenna asked.

Hamra nodded.

Yetenna quickly started riding her horse towards Deepnight Cliff. Heinald tried to move with all his might, but could not move any part of him, cursed inside and tried to resist the desperation that pervaded him.

On one side of his mind was the thought that the person who came to the forest could find and save him. But this thought did not last long, because when they came to the edge of the cliff, Yetenna threw him off the cliff like trash. As he fell down, his body, which he could not control, was just swirling.

Although Heinald's body was paralyzed, his brain was still active. He was quickly looking for a solution but could not find anything. He had no chance to cast any magic and could not move in the slightest. He knew the Deepnight Cliff, it was the cliff at the end of the forest, and it was so high.

Heinald fell steadily for one hour. Still unable to move any limbs in his body, he had been waiting to die for hours. If he had regained even a little bit of control of his body, maybe he could have cast Whisper of the Wind, gliding towards the slope and making a non-hard landing.

"Could this poison be affecting my Magic Energy?" Heinald thought. Many other thoughts were crossing his mind. It was all his stupidity that he got into this situation, trusting someone he didn't know well at a time when he needed to be careful. Of course, he didn't think the Chief of Security was actually a traitor, but still getting out was his biggest stupidity.

Now he understood better why this organization was able to take actions so comfortably and that there was very little information about them. He had to admit that Hamra was a really smart person, he had taken really logical and wise steps.
