The Murderous Diary of a Female Doctor

Chapter 14: A Pretty Lady

Chapter 14

The midday sun shone lazily upon people, or at least upon the alluring figure of Qing Qing walking languidly ahead, her ink-black locks swaying out seductive curves.

Qing Qing was a beauty, eye-catching as a star from looks to temperament.

I suddenly lost my appetite for going to the cafeteria.

I needed to take a walk.

I walked very quickly that people who knew me would be greatly astonished. I went through the shaded path, the corridors. I needed to get out of the hospital.

It seemed someone called out "Bao Zhu" from afar. I didn't stop to listen, perhaps I misheard. I didn't care.

I arrived at the boxing gym, found the coach, changed into gear, put on gloves.

I struck out with my right fist towards his eyes. The coach blocked it. I elbowed him below his ribs, the coach dodged it. I punched with my left fist towards his nose, the coach protected it. I tried to kick his knee joints. Not only did the coach avoid it, he took the chance to lift my leg and made me lose balance and fall. On the floor, I fiercely elbowed his toes. He withdrew his body with all his might. I seized the chance to grab his leg and threw him to the ground like he did me. I twisted his right arm. The coach guffawed loudly: "Liu, not bad today, what a temper!"

"Again," I said.

After a few rounds, I was put down by the coach, pinned to the floor by his knee, unable to move. I gave up resisting and closed my eyes limply on the floor.

Qing Qing was right, I had nothing. From that day, I started losing everything.

That day, 6:30 AM, time to get up. The house was empty, not a soul inside, only Aunt Huang from next door sitting on the sofa wiping her tears. She told me my beloved sister, whom I loved most, had died.

She really died. She had tied her feet together with her favorite scarf, bound her hands with duct tape, and rolled into a pond less than a meter deep.

All she left was a letter.

Everyone at home was in chaos, busy with things. It was as if they had all forgotten me.

I had to find my sister. She was in the morgue of the hospital.

I asked around and found my way to the hospital alone.

But a seven-year-old girl could do so little. I couldn't even get into the morgue.

"Oh goodness! Shoo! Is this a place for a little girl like you? Go find your mom!"

No matter how I pleaded, they wouldn't let me in.

So I sat at the top of the stairs to the morgue and waited. From dawn till dusk fell at night. It was the morgue staff who called the police to report a little girl sitting guard here refusing to leave. My parents finally came to pick me up when the police contacted them based on my grandma's missing child alert.

I didn't see my sister again until two days later.

My father finally brought my sister's body home in a hearse for my grandma's place. My sister's face was pale and swollen. I could barely recognize her looks but I knew it was my sister.

When my mother changed my sister's clothes at grandma's house, I saw the ghastly centipede-like suture running from her lower right jaw all the way down her abdomen.

It was the suture after my sister's autopsy.

My sister, whom I loved the most, was clean and cared about image, beautiful and graceful. Now she was sewn up like a ragged doll.

I shrieked and wailed madly. I could hardly believe those piercing cries were from me.

Lying there wasn't my sister. My sister's clothes weren't fancy but always clean. Her sneakers weren't stylish but always spotless white. She never lied to me or treated me like a child. She would save the sweetest part of the watermelon for me. She comforted me when I was scolded by Mom for being clumsy...

But she was murdered, even if she committed suicide.

She was murdered by Bo Rongqi.

So Bo Rongqi should not exist in this world.
