The Peak of Alchemy & Martial

Chapter 1

C1 – Reincarnation

Yun Haoyan’s eyelids felt heavy as he opened them to the sight of a lavish room. Disoriented, he sat up, clutching his aching chest.

“Wasn’t I dead?”

The image of a beautiful yet cruel woman filled his mind, and his eyes brimmed with loathing.

He, a Pill Saint of the ninth grade, had been betrayed and killed by the woman he trusted most.

She had poisoned him at the critical moment he was on the cusp of achieving the Pill God Realm and forging his Pill God Body. That act of treachery was something he could never forgive.

“Where am I?”

Yun Haoyan surveyed the room that seemed both familiar and strange, but couldn’t place it.

Just then, the door opened, and a woman in her thirties, with delicate features, entered carrying a bowl.

Upon seeing her, Yun Haoyan was struck dumb.

“Mother!” Tears streamed down his face.

“Haoyan, you’re awake!” The woman’s voice was filled with joy as she rushed to the bed and sat down beside him. “Why the tears? Are you in pain?”

She began to check him over for injuries.

Yun Haoyan embraced her tightly. “Mother, it is you! This isn’t a dream!”

Realizing the depth of his yearning, she gently patted his back. “What’s the matter, Haoyan? Have you missed me that much in such a short time?”

His body shook with sobs as he clung to her.

Her embrace was a haven of warmth. In his past life, he had dreamt of his mother countless times, each awakening marked by tears.

In that former life, the Qiu family had slaughtered his entire family. Only by his parents’ desperate sacrifice had Yun Haoyan survived. The memory of his parents’ final moments haunted him.

Years later, having advanced to Martial Spirit, he returned for vengeance, only to find the Qiu family already destroyed. Despite exhaustive efforts, Yun Haoyan never uncovered who had ordered the hit on his family or who had exacted the retribution that he had so desperately sought.

Now, Yun Haoyan had been given a second chance at life, and there stood his mother before him.

Yun Haoyan tightened his fists. In this life, he was determined to protect his loved ones fiercely. He would never permit anyone to cause them even the slightest harm.

Finally, after a heartfelt embrace, he let go of his mother and wiped away his tears.

“Come, Haoyan, time for your medicine,” Yun’s mother said, holding the concoction and gently spoon-feeding Yun Haoyan, “And no more fighting, understood?”

At his mother’s gentle admonishment, Yun Haoyan nodded. He accepted the medicine she offered and drank it down.

Though the medicine was bitter, the sweetness of his mother’s care made it palatable.

Her mention of the fight clued him in on the current time.

If his memory served correctly, it was this very morning that Qiu Kuiwei confronted him, making vile remarks about his sister and expressing his intent to dishonor her. Unable to contain his rage, Yun Haoyan had clashed with Qiu Kuiwei, who, with the prowess of a third-grade Martial Warrior, had brutally beaten him and left him unconscious.

And by the following night, the Qiu family would come to ruthlessly massacre his entire family.

“Thank heavens for this chance to turn back the clock. Thank you!

I won’t let this tragedy unfold.”

After administering the medicine, his mother shared many words of care, urging him to rest. She then left Yun Haoyan’s room, thoughtfully closing the door behind her.

Once alone, Yun Haoyan rose to his feet, his vitality pulsing through him.

Shadows flickered in his wake.
