The Record Of Barton's Fantastical Events

Chapter 137

Chapter 137: Chapter 6 Lunch

The Great Dane ran into Benjamin’s warehouse silently and looked at Matthew.

Matthew stopped picking up a wooden block and looked into the pitch-black eyes of the Great Dane.

The Great Dane didn’t have any reaction. It looked at him for a while, then turned its head and ran back to inform Benjamin. Matthew said, “oh” comprehendingly, and watched the Great Dane wagging its tail. Benjamin said that he was called a shape-shifter, with countless forms, and he was a nonhuman who was good at disguising. Ordinary fatal injuries had no effect on them, because they had two systems to sustain life, and decapitation was the most direct method.

Matthew couldn’t judge whether Benjamin’s education method was good or bad, because Benjamin was his only Alpha, he could only remember it quietly. But after seeing Jim’s combat, he really doubted that if he met one one day, he would probably be the one that was beheaded?

Matthew threw off the inexplicable thought, embarrassedly pulled the dusty and sweat-stained vest, and looked at Lola.

“What? What is it?” Lola looked at her own clothes in confusion, thinking that she had something dirty on her clothes.

“No.” Matthew waved awkwardly, “Lunch is ready, you go first.”

Lola blinked, looked at the Great Dane’s wiggling butt, and then at Matthew, “Can you understand what it wants to say?”

Matthew shook his head and said embarrassedly, “It usually appears at this time for no other reason than eating.”

“Oh.” Lola nodded. It seemed like every time she saw the Great Dane, it was always eating.

Lola straightened her hair and stood up. She had just watched next to Matthew for a long time, but she still didn’t know what Matthew was making. She just happened to start getting a little bored, so she turned and walked in the direction of the Grande family’s house.

Matthew took off his work gloves and walked to the west of the warehouse, pulling up the bottom of the vest using his hands, trying to take it off.

Lola noticed that Matthew hadn’t followed. Turning around, she saw Matthew’s naked, strong back, the vest was on his head and arms, as he pushed open the west door with his body, “Aren’t you coming?” Lola put one hand on the door frame of the warehouse and asked.

“I need to take a quick shower.” Matthew took off the vest, turned his head, and said with a smile. A pale golden hair was messed up by the vest, and he turned and walked to the bathroom behind the warehouse.

It was said to be a bathroom, but it was actually just a small cubicle made of brown wooden boards set up by Benjamin on the west side of the warehouse. Unlike the bathroom in the Grande family’s house, there was no ceiling here, a sprinkler was fixed to the wall, and there was no bathtub. There were only a few simple wooden boards and a beam on the cubicle for hanging clothes.

“Oh,” said Lola. It didn’t take long for the sound of water to appear. Lola hesitated for a while, and found that waiting for Matthew to come out didn’t seem to meet the code of conduct for a lady. She frowned, lifted her skirt, and ran towards the Grande family’s house.

Jim ran to the warehouse where the light was shining. The three people were silently placing things on the shelves, and the atmosphere was somewhat depressing. Jim’s tail swayed and slapped on the metal frame, the noise made the three people shift their attention. As a Great Dane, Jim never made a noise that fit his identity. This was his characteristic.

“Benjamin, you go to eat.” Zach looked at Jim and said to Benjamin.

Benjamin dropped what was in his hands, clapped his hands, and followed Jim out of the warehouse. The Tulpa Daniel pressed his mouth and whispered after Benjamin completely walked out of the warehouse, “I’m sorry, I caused you trouble.”

Zach smiled and shook his head, “It’s fine.” This was not really a conflict between the vampire and the werewolf, Zach could tell it, “Matthew and recent events have made him a little confused.” Zach didn’t need to conceal this. Daniel would find out after living in the Grande family for a while. Everyone in the Grande family had their own problems.

Daniel nodded, and within a few days of joining the Grande, he had figured out the relationship between everyone. Old Hank was the previous generation of the Grade family, the vampire and the werewolf were the real masters, Louise was considered to be Zach’s preparatory descendant, Matthew was the present descendant of the werewolf, Alice was the little sister in the Grande family, and the banshee’s ability guaranteed that the Grande would be safe.

As for the Great Dane Jim, like him, he was the low-level nonhumans that came to Barton because of the false rumor, and there was also a human Maddison in the mill. The earthbound spirit trapped underground was the offspring of a Shaman family.

At the same time, this family had close ties with the mayor of Barton and a police detective named James. And more importantly, they seemed to have an unusual partnership with the big names in the western district of Barton.

It would be strange that such a composition didn’t make people confused.

Daniel set aside the emotions in his heart and concentrated on sorting out the clutter.

In the cubicle on the west side of Benjamin’s warehouse, Matthew’s eyes were closed tightly under the flow of water. He pressed his palms that were much wider than his peers on his face and pushed his wet hair back. He heard the wooden board was being pushed away. Squinting his eyes, he watched Benjamin come in blankly.

Matthew stepped away from the water, looking at Benjamin who was silent, his emotions were a bit mixed. Although it was strange to say that, was the guy in front of him, his second ‘father’? Or the relationship between them was a forced relationship controlled by an unspeakable power.

“Hmm…” Matthew looked at Benjamin’s body wet by the water, and the water drops fell with difficulty from the excessive hair.

“What?” Benjamin squinted and turned to look at Matthew.

“I, er…” Matthew considered the words, and really didn’t know how to say it without causing embarrassment, so he had to point to his chest, “Will I grow those…?”

Benjamin looked down at his chest, smiled, and shook his head, “No. I was born that way.”

Matthew breathed a sigh of relief.

Benjamin picked up the soap and rubbed it on his body, then suddenly asked, “If I want you to leave Barton.” Benjamin shook his head and changed his words, “Leave Grande, leave your home, would you do it?”

This was not an order, just a question, so Matthew thought about it seriously, “Probably not. What’s happened? Are we leaving?” There was worry on Matthew’s face.

Benjamin glanced at Matthew. The young wolf did not notice what was hidden in Benjamin’s words, and smiled, “No.”

Matthew let out a sigh of relief again.

Benjamin was quick, changed his clothes again, and walked to the Grande family’s House with Matthew. The people in the dining room have already started to eat. Lola had a white napkin on her chest; not used to the clothes, she was constantly pulling the folds of her collar.

It was not that Lola didn’t want to change clothes, but that she was the same height as Alice, but their figures were so different, and Louise’s clothes were too big; so the girl was stuck in the middle. While dealing with the food on the plate, she said that she would bring some clothes next time.

Zach appeared when everyone almost finished eating, and Lola was already very familiar with this situation. Zach put something on the plate at random, greeted everyone, and walked to the office with the plate. Lola turned sideways and watched the Great Dane silently follow Zach. When the Great Dane came out, Alice could go to the office to collect the dishes.

Zach entered the office and the phone rang, and he casually placed the plate with food on the desk on the side. The Great Dane swiftly jumped onto the desk and began to deal with the food. Zach slowly took out a bottle of wine, poured a glass, and then lazily answered the phone.

“Grande.”

The person on the phone didn’t speak, but the familiar breathing sound had exposed his identity.

“Mr. Quest, is there anything I can help you with?” Zach took a sip of “wine” and watched Jim leisurely lying on the side desk chewing an egg roll.

Zach moved the receiver that burst out an angry roar away from his ears, and even Jim was startled by the sudden cursing. He looked this way, and Zach shrugged, and when the cursing was over, he brought the receiver closer, with the corner of his mouth turned into a smile, “Mr. Quest, what are you talking about? I do not understand.”

“Bullshit! Daniel is with you! Don’t want to hide it from me! I want him! Give him to me! Otherwise!”

Zach listened to the assuming pause in the receiver, “Otherwise what? Do you want to break into the Grande family’s House like how you dealt with those ordinary civilians? You can try, we can treat your hush money as the payment for the first request.”

Yes, this Quest has never paid Grande for finding Tiffany and Neil. If there was any private detective union, Zach also wanted to file a complaint.

“Is that why you are doing this? !” The other party seemed to have found out Grande’s secret, “You did it on purpose! I knew your tricks from Hermann! You did it on purpose! !”

When Hermann found him, Zach already knew that the target was Hunter Revenge, so he acted quickly, and the additional request was also completed very smoothly. However, with Quest’s request, Zach did not have any clue at the time, and the actions he took with Benjamin and James were mainly just trying their luck.

However, the development of this incident consisting of luck became a Grande’s trick in the eyes of Quest. At the very beginning, Grande had all the clues, and they just split these clues into different requests, so as to earn money!

As for that James, in the heart of Quest, this detective, he was in it together with the Grande!

This was just a misunderstanding. Zach just used Quest’s failure to pay for the first commission to make everything seem that way.

“You can think whatever you want,” Zach said with a smile. He was very happy to have such a misunderstanding.

“HA!” The other party laughed out of anger, “Then you wait!”

“I am waiting. But please hurry up.” Zach swirled the wine glass, “If we didn’t receive enough money, we will visit in person.”

The other party finally hung up before Zach.

Zach didn’t mind it and put down the phone slowly. Zach didn’t know exactly how Mrs. Quinn would react when she heard this incident. But he guessed that she would probably think that the Grande family was very interesting, right?
