The Strongest Dragon in the Era of Beast Taming

Chapter 602: 596: The King's Anomaly

Chapter 602: Chapter 596: The King’s Anomaly

“Turns out the thing I was most afraid of was being sliced up for research by the Trainer Guild.”

David Jones exhaled a turbid breath, his powerful, unparalleled physique shattering the operating table’s restraints under the bewildered gazes of the many researchers.

“Good, good, good, even a Class VI King Beast couldn’t break free from the Octagonal Heart Lock, this kid must hold a great secret, capture him quickly!”

Seeing David Jones free himself, a researcher with a square face exclaimed, not alarmed but pleased.

“Like to research, huh!”

David Jones’s face darkened, and he reached out toward the group of researchers who were huddled together.

“Boom!” In an instant, several people were dead.

Seeing his colleagues dead or severely injured, the square-faced man hastily summoned his Pet and turned to run.

However, before he had taken more than a few steps, David Jones used psychic energy to form a huge hand that suspended him in mid-air, then crushed him to death with a single slap.

“Cheep-cheep!” (Save me!)

Looking at the pitiful Lolo in front of him, David Jones laughed.

With Lolo’s strength, it could have resisted if it wanted to; no one in this research facility could have stopped it.

“Damn madman, how dare you attack the researchers of the institute!”

Just as David Jones had unlocked Lolo’s shackles, a mysterious legend, riding an imposing Emperor Dragon, appeared.

Boom!

A single breath of the dragon, descending from the sky, easily breached David Jones’s physical defenses, causing him to feel the pain and threat of death.

“Interesting, trying to kill me with an illusion? You’re underestimating me!”

Holding back the great horror between life and death with a Green Spirit Realm, David Jones opened his eyes, and the scene before him changed once again.

“Paying debts is a matter of course!”

Looking at the lawyers blocking the door and the claim of over a hundred billion in his hand, David Jones couldn’t help but wipe the sweat from his forehead.

There was no helping it, this time he really was at fault.

To create the Revival Crystal, Lolo had destroyed much of the Veteran Dungeon, even slaughtering several King Beasts.

Compared to those losses, over a hundred billion Star coins wasn’t much. With no other choice, David Jones had to honestly win the national university cooperative competition and become a spokesperson for Chunt City in the illusion to repay the debt.

At the top of the Tower of Refining Beasts, the nine-story tower enshrining the golden bell, the tower’s guardian George Victory came out of the Calm Mind state.

“Strange, why is the Beast Refining Tower experiencing arcane force shortages again? If this loss continues, this old man will have to pay out of his own pocket.”

Saying this, the elder stood up from his meditation mat, his face showing a trace of worry.

What of legendary strongmen?

To ascend to godhood, you still need to earn resources honestly or nurture a power base to enjoy the offerings from your power base.

Of course, if he was willing to break the rules, he could leave the Flowery Kingdom to reign as king in a remote and minor country.

But those remote and small countries were weak and often invaded by Mysterious Beasts and Beasts, always on the brink of national annihilation; who would have time to help him gather resources for ascension? He’d even have to frequently intervene to suppress Beast Tides, and over time, this would lead to an outflow exceeding inflow.

George Victory wasn’t the kind of hero to sacrifice himself for others, to leave the stable Flowery Kingdom to waste the already scarce time he had for cultivation.

“Could it be that a teacher is breaking school rules, attempting to reach Epic on the ninth floor of the Beast Refining Tower?”

Sensing the fluctuations of arcane force between heaven and earth, George Victory quickly used Psychic Power, utilizing the guardian’s privilege to open the gates of the Buddha Beast Tower.

George Victory was unable to scan the inside of the tower with his psychic power, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t open the doors of the Beast Refining Tower and judge, through the flow of the heavenly and earthly arcane force, which fellow was not playing by the rules!

Boom!

As George Victory opened the tower doors, a towering column of arcane force shot into the sky, and every student, whether participating in the trials of the Beast Refining Tower or attending classes on campus, felt a distinct vibration of arcane force.

“What’s happening? Is there a Class VII Overlord Beast swallowing up arcane force at the school?”

“Or is a teacher breaking through to Epic?”

At Rosewood College, teachers, whether they were in the middle of teaching or resting, stepped out of the classrooms and looked up in the direction of the Buddha Beast Tower.

The spectacular anomaly in the heavens and earth led most teachers to believe that someone was making a breakthrough to Epic.

As for the possibility of a Beast breaking through to Class VII Overlord, the tidal wave of arcane force that would cause was several times more terrifying than the current anomaly.

“Before he went into seclusion, Weiss White exchanged for a Rosewood Flower, could it be that he has gained some insight and decided to break through on the spot?” a graceful and dignified teacher said aloud.

Weiss White was one of the older Level VII lecturers at Rosewood College, with Arcane Star Cultivation at the apex of Class VI, and in recent years, the most likely King Trainer to break through to Epic.

“It’s not me.”

Just as he appeared in the corridor, Weiss White said in annoyance.

“If it’s not Weiss, then who could it be?” Lydia Mist asked, frowning.

Although there were many King Trainer teachers at Rosewood College, there were only a few with the potential to break through to Epic who had reached the apex of Class VI Arcane Star.

Besides Weiss White, the other three teachers expected to reach Epic all came from powerful families with legendary ancestors for protection; they definitely would not choose to make their breakthrough at the school.

“Do you think someone might be breaking through to King?” Lydia Mist murmured.

“This anomaly is so vast that it doesn’t even come to a tenth of what you would expect from a Grandmaster breaking through to King. How could it be the phenomenon of a King’s promotion!”

The teachers discussed animatedly and then, as one, returned to their classrooms to let the students study on their own, while they, intrigued, rushed toward the Buddha Beast Tower.

They could not miss the chance to congratulate a newly ascended Epic colleague at the school.

At Rosewood College, in the Battle Square.

To secure a place on Rosewood College’s team, Trainer after Trainer was directing their Pets in intense combat, with some Trainers even stripping off their clothes to join the battle alongside their Pets.

“Greenfield Ape Dragon, what are you doing!”

“Wind Demon T-Rex, stop, you’re going the wrong way!”

“Dragonfish Lord?”

Claire Guarneri looked at the Pets in front of her, no longer responding to commands, her pretty face turning slightly pale.

It stood to reason that the Pets she nurtured with the cross the Dragon Gate Mystic Arts should never go out of control, unless affected by an external force!

With this in mind, she looked up at the sudden appearance of the pillar of light in the sky, feeling the slightly familiar aura, and unexpectedly, the image of David Jones flashed through her mind.

Claire Guarneri shook her head, dismissing the inexplicable thoughts in her heart, and placed the Dragonfish Lord inside her Star Ring, to prevent further upheavals from her Pet.

There weren’t many Dragon-type Pets engaged in Battle Square, but there were tens of them, and after this disturbance, almost all the students stopped their practice and curiously looked in the direction of the tower.

Soon, with a few students leading the way toward the pillar of light, others quickly followed suit, making their way eagerly to the Beast Refining Tower.

“Well, I’ll be darned, no wonder the Saint Crystal’s energy was depleting so fast—it’s because you, youngster, are breaking through to King!”

George Victory gazed at the No. 3 Sky cultivation room, his heartbeat accelerating slightly.
