Chapter 193 Declaration
Somehow, Aion managed to react on time. Even with his best magic, he couldn't kill the cloaked figure. Nor did he have time to choose a spell. He reacted instinctively by changing his class to Guardian and then using Devotion and Force release.
The enemy's knife had pierced Seris' neck, but only a few millimeters and her artery weren't pierced, but Aion's was. He protected her, but even with his high defense and the help of Force release, he felt his artery being cut. Once again, the battlefield froze since no one ever saw that kind of ability before. Aion put his hand on the wound to stop the blood and heal it, but then he felt the wound burning… as expected of an assassin, the knife was poisoned.
Seris increased her speed to the limits and then grabbed the cloaked figure's arm and tried to pull her away and smash it against the ground, but she only pulled the cloak. Another woman suddenly appeared after jumping several meters backward. She was a wall and pretty thin. She also had short black hair and brown eyes, but she looked pretty unhealthy, like she hadn't eaten anything decent in weeks or had seen sunlight for as long.
"I am surprised…" The black-haired woman said. "You not only blocked my attack after already had wounded her but even took the full effect of the poison. What kind of magic did you use to make that possible?"
"Your Majesty, what are you doing here?" The swordsman suddenly approached and asked.
Before the dark-haired woman could answer, she jumped away when Sauros suddenly approached and then smashed the spot she had been with a metal pole. No one had any idea where he took that from, but the impact cracked the ground around and made it vibrate. Sauros was pissed for a second, and no one recognized him since he always looked calm before. It was no surprise. His sister was almost killed by a cowardly attack. The most shocked person was Seris…
"You are going to die here…" Sauros declared.
"You are welcome to try, but I can't see you two being able to pull that off without that guy's help," The black-haired woman said.
Aion was trembling and sweating all over. He was trying to fight the poison with his mana, but he couldn't do much. His magic will become more powerful if he changes his class to Necromancer. Still, the effects of the poison will become more powerful due to his low health.
"Aion, are you all right?" Sauros asked.
"I will manage, but fighting up close won't be possible," Aion replied. "You will have to buy some time for me, just a few seconds is fine, endure it."
"Aion… that Aion Kresnik?" The black-haired woman asked. "Now this makes sense… the last child of that accursed bloodline… it all makes sense now."
"I was planning to make you pay for saying my name carelessly, Sauros," Aion said. "But that won't matter since we are going to kill them now."
"... You are right," Sauros said. "In any case, heal your wound first. We will deal with them for the time being."
Seris had a lot of things to say, but they had to focus on the task ahead. As for Aion, he didn't know what to think, and he acted without thinking and protected Seris twice. He could say that he didn't change much in that aspect if compared to his previous life. If someone that he could see were in danger, he would try to help them.
Aion was curious to see how those two could fight together against three. Truth be told, he wasn't expecting much since his standards were pretty high due to the number of things he could do. That being said, their powers were in another league since they were related to time itself.
In any case, the swordsman and the whip user readied themselves while the ruler of that country began to walk to the side all of a sudden. She just vanished. Aion could tell that she used a high level of Furtivity, and that could be a problem… Still, when Aion used his mana on the ground, he could feel her walking around the area and approaching his back.
While he didn't panic, the other two were pretty nervous. He was planning to attack and kill her once she lowered her guard, but the other two won't be able to fight properly in that situation. Aion needed to save mana from healing himself and fighting the poison that infected his artery. Hence, a lot of it entered his system pretty fast… Nevertheless, he decided to finish things with the enemy, so he turned to face the invisible ruler.
"Don't worry about her. I got this," Aion declared.
The enemies and his allies frowned, but the black-haired woman could tell that Aion wasn't bluffing. He couldn't see her, but he could feel her. When she took steps to both sides, his eyes followed her, so the ruler opened her eyes widely in shock, to the point that she undid her own skill.
"You are more skilled than I have heard… to think that I can track me," The black-haired woman said and then grabbed two curved knives from her waist. "My name is Kala Jonasar, and I hope that you can entertain me despite being poisoned."
"That won't be possible because soon you will die unless you can find pleasure in that," Aion said.
Kala only took that as a joke since she was impressed that Aion still was standing after being poisoned by her dagger. Even the small amounts of the poison in her weapon could take down giant monsters in a matter of seconds.
Kala wondered how she should proceed… after the fall of the Mileris kingdom. She got interested in magic since she heard that a single mage managed to stop an entire army for three days. Considering that alone, she had to be careful with Aion.
