Chapter 407 Planning To The End
Aion's breathing grew heavy and ragged as he struggled to contain his emotions. His mind raced with thoughts of his loved ones suffering at the hands of Vangel, and the weight of their captivity bore down on him like a crushing weight. The pain of their imprisonment gnawed at his soul, igniting a burning determination to set them free.
What happened to his sisters… something far worse was expected from his mother, Seris, and Arlana… aside from Aion, they would be the following targets on the list of the enemies of people that they needed to get rid of. They knew too much; they were too dangerous with their powers as well.
"... We will rescue all of them and make sure that Vangel will beg for the peace granted by death," Aion declared while his eyes were unfocused. "Vangel had some allies that were too powerful for normal people. Did you see them?"
"No, your mother assumed that they are looking for you in other periods of time," Henri replied. "Still, we heard some rumors of someone extremely fast checking around the whole world since yesterday…"
"They returned… because history was rewritten thanks to Tenebres," Aion said, and then he took a deep breath to calm down.
"Tenebres?" Henri asked.
"It is a long story… we will talk about it later," Aion said and then thought about the next steps. "We should reunite everyone and then attack the enemies. Gather your forces; I will clean the area from the monsters."
Their presence attracted more creatures; this time, Aion could see some crazy big spiders dashing toward them. Still, Aion changed his class to Timeless Swordsman and killed them with Timeless Slash. The group opened their mouths and let them hang open since they didn't know what had happened… Aion just made a sword appear out of nowhere, and then the monsters were split into two.
Aion needed to level up as fast as possible the classes that he got during the dream; they were the strongest ones, and most likely, they will evolve and unlock even stronger ones.
The pieces of the puzzle began to connect, forming a chilling realization. It dawned on him that Vangel might be someone from the past who had harnessed the power of the Tenebres fragments.
Aion's eyes widened as the revelation settled in. The Tenebres fragments, remnants of a malevolent force scattered throughout time and space, held immense power. It was known that those who possessed them could manipulate the very fabric of reality. Vangel, it seemed, had managed to gather these fragments and wield their dark energies for his dark purposes.
The implications of this discovery weighed heavily on Aion's shoulders. He contemplated the immense danger that Vangel posed, not only as a formidable adversary but also as a harbinger of chaos. The thought of someone harnessing the corrupted remnants of Tenebres, twisting their power for their own gain, sent a chill down his spine. Not because he would be a tough opponent, but because he could do a lot worse than just mess with time once he kills Aion and get the relics…
Without wasting time, Aion got the corpses and began to process them. He needed to see what kind of skills those classes would give him, but he found it hard to believe that anything that they offered would be better than Timeless Aura. In any case, Aion hunted the monsters around the city until Henri returned with around two hundred survivors… only fifty of them could fight, though.
"Where is Father and our brothers and sisters?" Aion asked.
"Father was captured as well… the others are leading the other camps since they were taking care of that country, and they were informed by Sauros of what happened to you," Henri said while having a hard time controlling his anger as well. "The last time we heard of Sauros, it was three weeks ago, and he said that he would get help."
"We don't have time to waste… his trip will take too long," Aion thought.
As Aion contemplated his next move, he had a decision that weighed heavily on his mind. Should he use his class Timeless Swordsman, which focused on duels, or should he use necromancy and spread his influence over a large area with his army of death knights?
The Timeless Swordsman class held a special allure for Aion. The legacy of his ancestors resonated within him. Its combat prowess could grant him unparalleled speed, precision, and mastery over the flow of time itself. With each swing of his sword, he could cleave through reality, manipulating the temporal fabric to his advantage.
On the other hand, the path of the necromancer enticed Aion with its large-scale influence and a chance to level up even faster… With the aid of death knights, mighty warriors risen from the grave, Aion could command an undead army to serve his bidding, overwhelming his enemies with relentless force…
Since Aion wanted the power to rip to shreds the flow of time as well, he looked for monsters all night, his body was screaming like a bitch since he wasn't fully healed yet, but he didn't mind it.
During the night, Henri also explained other things to him. Artemisia, Seris, and Arlana tirelessly worked to keep Aion's location a closely guarded secret. Their task was not an easy one since they also had to look after him in his weakness. Henri had entrusted them with this crucial duty, understanding the risks involved if Vangel were to discover Aion's whereabouts. Even without asking where he was…
Meanwhile, Vangel was gathering followers for his cause. He enticed those hungry for power and immortality with promises of grandeur and eternal life. Vangel painted a tantalizing picture of a future where his followers would wield unimaginable power, transcending the limitations of mortality.
If Vangel were to learn of Aion's presence, he would undoubtedly use it as leverage to bargain for the release of the prisoners, further strengthening his own forces by getting rid of the most troublesome opponent.
