Chapter 12: 12:The Unwanted Call
In SecureSoft's Outsourcing Department, an atmosphere of panic followed thereafter.
"Fuck!"
"Holyshit!"
"Boss Dave, you gotta be kidding me?"
The entire office erupted into chaos, startling Dave, who took a moment to realize the problem.
It was already 9 PM and if they started to work over things now, they might not get home tonight.
"Don't worry. The guy might be asking today, but he will send the files tomorrow."
DING! DING!
However, even before he could finish his sentence, loud chimes echoed through the room, freezing everyone in place.
"Su...Supervisor, that guy sent the files. And he has sent solutions to all the problems…also, he has attached an email ID and bank details, asking for quick payment."
"...."
It seemed like none of them would be able to see their families for a few days...
_____
The next day...
Evan first took a look at his account.
Seeing that he had already stored half a million rupees that was summed further by a system reward that directly entered his account, he decided to spend it. After browsing through Amazon, he finally found the laptop he wanted and ordered it immediately.
The moment he entered his address and other details and put in his bank pin before making the payment, a chime echoed in his mind.
[Side Quest: Spend 50,000 Rs completed.]
[Reward: 500 QP]
Nodding in satisfaction, he headed to the kitchen where he made himself tea by adding a spirit-vitalizing leaf to it.
[Host, you are committing a damn crime. How...how can you mix such a priceless tea with this piece of shit? If the world knew about this, they might butcher you.]
"It won't last long if I take it often," Evan said, sipping the tea.
The tea had been given to him by the system, but that would be the last thing he would receive from it. The system wouldn't produce any real objects after this.
[Host, you can just buy it from the shop. For god's sake, work hard and open it.]
The moment the tea touched his lips, a moan escaped from his mouth. Even in small quantities, the tea had invigorated his entire body and made him feel that he was full of energy.
A heavenly sensation washed over his body relieving the accumulated fatigue.
Evan felt as if he was in a trance-like state and forgot about the system's nagging.
Yesterday, he was so engrossed in programming that he lost track of time. By the time he finished, it was already 10 PM.
He could have finished early, but his typing speed was pathetic. Even children would be able to type faster than him while playing games.
"Thankfully, my regenerating skills were still active; otherwise, I would have had a sore shoulder throughout the day."
"Yeah, you're talking about the shop. Does it also have advanced technology or magic equipment?"
[Yes, it contains blueprints for many things that will exist way ahead in the future. However, you won't find magical items since your world doesn't have magic. But you can gain knowledge and recipes for various things.]
"So, is there so-called magic somewhere?" Evan asked curiously.
[Yes, there is, but not in your universe.]
"So, there are other universes," Evan muttered, then chuckled.
"I just read that there is no statistical proof about this, but you just shattered my worldview. Now, I think your existence is nothing short of magical."
"So, tell me if one day I could take over the whole universe with your help?"
[It's not possible. Taking over the universe isn't as easy as it sounds. Doing so would mean that either you have more energy than the entire universe or manage or take control of all energy, something that isn't possible by any means. Even the laws and karma of the world with such a vast power can only exercise a part of the power and are able to exercise a fraction of it."
"Okay, I got it," Evan said, pinching his forehead after hearing all this.
He then took a breath and opened his smartphone to study stocks and investing.
With a huge amount of money coming his way, he needed to start planning to use it wisely.
Currently, he intends to create an app that would keep pumping money while he sets up the company or something to manage everything.
His plan after this was to create an AI, a fairly powerful one but it would be for his personal use since he didn't want to draw the government's attention. However, all of this was just his wishful thinking and he didn't even know if he could achieve all this.
His level was still low.
Most graduates would have beginner programming skills, while only a genius can achieve intermediate programming skills during graduation.
As long as one has intermediate programming skills, one can earn a good living, and advanced skills are enough to define one as a genius.
Achieving this requires a significant amount of experience and mental acumen.
With the system overclocking his brain, as long as he puts his mind to his analyzing skills all of it could improve rapidly.

Just as he engrossed himself, his phone rang repeatedly.
Evan's expression turned cold when he saw that it was a call from his so-called cheap mother.
They had been calling him but he would just cut it with a message that he was receiving treatment in the hospital. He intended to do the same today but stopped after seeing the message which warned that if he didn't pick it up, they were gonna come here and if they didn't find him, they would file a missing person report.
"It seems, I should confront them while hiding my true intention," he thought.
He answered and just as he said hello, a series of curses hurled at him.
"Where the hell did you die, idiot? Why the hell are you not picking up our calls?"
