Chapter 109
109 Reaching the Granary
After that, Kyle took the stairs at the side and they went down where there were a lot of seeds prepared. Most of them were grain seeds but there were also some other variety that had been kept here. He asked Kate to bring them all, including the preserving equipment.
And Kate easily took them all in.
At this moment, Jake was completely stupefied. “Did your father know that your little cat’s space is at such monstrous size?”
“He knows.” Kyle smiled slightly.
In fact, he had said to his father that his little cat’s space was a big bigger than others because from the very start, it was already very big. And now that Little Kitty had reached rank 4, it was only natural for the space to be even bigger.
They went down another floor and realized that there were even more seeds here and Kyle conveniently asked Kate to pack up everything. That way, the entire place was completely empty from top to the bottom.
Kate looked at her space and realized that it didn’t seem to take that much inside her space?
She just felt tired because she had to concentrate when putting these items inside.
“Meow?”
.....
“It’s done.” Kyle patted Kate. “There’s only the third underground floor as far as I know, but the size of this underground room is not small at all.”
“I think that this is the size of a stadium.” Jake looked around and sighed.
Dylan was staying at the entrance, guarding it from any giant mutated animals that might want to enter. In any case, the door was closed automatically, so Kyle had to insert his card again if he wanted to get out.
“Indeed.” Kyle nodded in agreement.
“Shall we go back?”
“Wait a bit.” Kyle looked in one direction and seemed to feel that there was something there. He walked to the wall and knocked a few times until he found an empty spot. He cracked the wall by using his fire ability and there was indeed a small hole inside.
There was a purple gem in diamond shape inside.
“What’s that?” Jake was stunned. He couldn’t sense anything at all but Kyle seemed to sense that there was something?
“I don’t know.” Kyle only felt that there seemed to be something calling him from this strange gem. It looked to be similar in quality with those crystals that they gathered from giant mutated animals, but at the same time, it was also different.
He didn’t know how to explain what he was feeling right now.
But he knew that this crystal should be important to him because it was as if something inside him was yearning towards this crystal in front of him.
“Meow?”
Kate looked at the crystal and felt that it was shining so brightly in front of her. When it was blocked by the wall, she didn’t really feel anything, but now that it was in front of her, it seemed to be blinding.
The color was purple.
Was it related to Kyle’s lightning ability?
“If there’s a purple gem here, is it possible that there’s also a grey gem?” Jake’s eyes lit up. He was itching to rummage the entire area to find out whether there was any grey gem that was suitable for him or not.
Kyle shook his head. “If anything, I think there should be a chocolate colored crystal considering that the plants above were able to grow so fast.”
“Ah, shall we search for it?”
Kyle weighted the gem in his hand before putting it into his inner pocket carefully. He could feel that it was slightly hot to the touch, but this was not the time for him to pay attention to it.
“I don’t think it’ll be possible.”
“Why?”
“Just like you and Little Kitty can’t sense this gem but I can sense it, the crystal in the forest might only be able to be found by those who are of wood element.” Kyle walked to the stairs, intending to go up once more.
Jake thought about it and then sighed.
Right, it would be too much for them to hope that they would be able to find that chocolate colored gem unless they were to overturn the entire land. And it would take too much time.
Time they didn’t have.
A pity that they could only give it up just like that.
“If only we could have a wood elemental awakener in our team, it would be really great.” Jake sighed.
“It’s useless if we can’t trust them.”
They walked up and came out. At this moment, Dylan was still standing there. He saw them coming out and nodding.
“Anyone coming?” Kyle asked.
“Outside.”
Kate raised her head and saw several humans were approaching this location. She meowed lightly and tapped Kyle’s hand near her, warning her that there were humans outside.
“Little Kitty, if it’s giant mutated animals, meow once. If it’s humans, meow twice.”
“Meow, meow!”
Kate looked at Kyle accusingly.
However, Kyle didn’t pay attention to Kate when he heard that there were humans at the front. The corner of his lips curled up to form a sneer and he pointed to the back. “Let’s go through the back door.”
“Ok.”
This time, they used the backdoor and was greeted with another view of forest in front of them. Without waiting, Kyle waved his hand and fire burned the forest in front of them, creating path out towards a small open area not far from there.
“Let’s go.”
As they walked, Kate seemed to sense something that was filled with white dots nearby. 0She didn’t hesitate and urged her space ability to pick them while dragging those white dots.
Thunk!
A green colored gem appeared inside her space and Kate was pleasantly surprised. Could it be the combination of wood and healing element was what caused this forest to appear? The front was wood element while the back was healing element?
At this moment, Kyle also noticed that the forest seemed to be regenerating slower and his eyes flashed.
These gems truly contained elemental energy.
But they had to figure out a way to draw out that energy by themselves since it didn’t seem to be the same as ordinary crystals they obtained from killing giant mutated animals.
It’s fine, he had enough time to explore later.
“We’re out!” Jake pumped his fist in excitement. He looked behind and was stunned. “Is it just me or the forest didn’t seem to recover as fast as when we head towards the granary before?”
“It’s not hallucination.” Dylan nodded seriously because he himself could see that the forest was regenerating slower. However, the new plants still came out of the ground and began to grow.
“There might be more than one crystal and those people who come have obtained them.” Kyle waved his hand. “Let’s check the other granary.”
“Ok.”
Even though they were also curious about this strange small forest around this granary, they didn’t have that much time to linger here any longer. Rather than meeting those people and had some conflict, it would be better to go and fight more giant mutated animals while collecting the grains.
That was more worthwhile.
“Meow.”
Kate glanced at Kyle but didn’t pester to tell him about this. Anyway, she could just show him the gem later.
...
Blaar!
Fire spread out, burning the forest in front of them. Because of the fast regenerating of these trees, it was impossible for them to know that someone had actually made a path towards the granary in front of them.
“What a strange forest,” one of Petra’s men murmured.
“Indeed.” His friend nodded in agreement.
Lotus was looking at the forest in front of her and her eyes shone. This was the reason why she chose to tag along with Petra. It was said that on his journey, he will find a special kind of forest during one of the granary mission and encountered a great earth gem.
That gem was precisely what would allow him to grow stronger.
When she heard that, she was envious. And later on, she heard that another lucky person managed to across a wood element from the same area and used it to grow stronger.
Only those of the same elements would be able to sense it.
This time, Lotus was determined to take this chance for herself rather than letting that person who should have come to take it.
Her talent was originally not too good, so the additional gem will definitely help her to grow much stronger.
“There’s some kind of energy in the ground.” Petra looked around and then stopped at one position. He forcefully dug into the ground and took out a small diamond shaped gem with yellow color.
