Chapter 135
135 Making their Way Out
“It worked.” Jake’s mouth opened wide.
Lotte clicked her tongue. “It seems that these bombs are indeed specially designed for those of space awakened. With their abilities, they could use these bombs without restrain.”
“Not exactly without restrain. Let’s destroy the entrance of these giant mutated ants into the facility and then clean up the giant mutated ants.” Kyle came up with the plan immediately when he saw that Kate really could do it.
“YES!”
They were now all very energetic.
Soon, countless explosion sound could be heard along with the shriek from these dying giant mutated ants. With the bombs directly exploded at the entrance of the tunnel, it blocked these giant mutated ants from entering.
They all used this chance to escape to the earlier floors and made sure to block the door tightly. Jake even reinforced the metals to make it even more secure.
They definitely couldn’t deal with all the giant mutated ants there.
So the only possibility was for them to report this matter and let the military sent someone to take care of the giant mutated ants.
.....
“I don’t see any rank 5 giant mutated ants,” Jake commented when they finally reached their car again. Seeing this car, Jake almost kissed it because he felt so happy that he could finally come out of that accursed Research Institute.
The thought of seeing more giant mutated ants in the future just put him in bad mood, so he didn’t dare to even think about it anymore.
“They didn’t come out.”
Kyle himself felt that there should be a rank 5 giant mutated ants inside the complicated maze of their nest. But the rank 5 giant mutated ants didn’t come out for some reason. Even Kyle himself didn’t know why.
“Well, the rank 4 giant mutated ants alone are already a hassle to deal with.” Jake shivered.
Dylan nodded in agreement. They might be able to basically speed through their way out of this research institute. But it was mostly because Kyle could kill a lot of these giant mutated ants easily.
Being a rank 5, he had more energy reserve and the power was more devastating.
“Let’s go back first.” Kyle motioned for Dylan to start the car.
“Ok.”
Kate didn’t bother with them anymore. When they were about to get out, she conveniently took a lot of these white dots into her body. As a result, she felt really full right now.
She herself didn’t know what rank she had achieved. Anyway, it shouldn’t be too low.
Right?
...
Their journey back was smooth.
And when they were about to reach the city, Kyle looked at Kate. “Turn into a human being.”
“Meow?”
Kate didn’t want to show her human form to others because it would be a hassle to explain how a little cat eventually changed shape to be a human. There will be a lot of people who would be asking this and that.
Kate didn’t want it.
“I’ll register your identity.” Kyle looked at Kate calmly.
“What do you want to register her as?” Jake was curious. If they were to say the truth, Kate would be someone unknown since she used to be a cat, right?
“My daughter.”
“MEOW!”
Kate reacted so strongly and quickly jumped out of Kyle’s embrace. It was just unfortunate that she was not fast enough as Kyle easily caught her again. He arched his eyebrows. Evne without Lotte translating what she said, he could guess what she said.
“Why, Little Kitty didn’t want to call me father?”
“Meow!”
Lotte was amused when she saw the little cat flared at Kyle angrily.
Kyle was not angry, though. He knew that this little cat somehow developed a strong resistance from calling him father. He lightly tapped the girls’ head.
“If you’re not my daughter, what do you want to be?”
“Meow!”
Kate would never say that she just wanted to be his student. If Lotte were to translate that and Kyle made the connection between her and his missing student..
Eh.
That would make things complicated.
And Kate had already sensed that her mentality and way of thinking had somehow regressed to the time when she was a young girl. She might not be able to survive well if she had to go out on her own.
Lotte burst out laughing.
Kyle looked at Kate helplessly, but in the end didn’t pester her to call him as Father. This naughty little cat would never agree in the face of coercion. It seemed that he could only try to make her call him as father slowly.
Soon, they reached City B and directly headed to the military base.
Kyle brought the box and walked to his father’s office. The others were following him. When they reached there, the adjutant didn’t even bother asking and directly informed General Ryan that they had arrived.
“Come inside.”
The door opened and Kyle walked in. One hand was carrying Kate while the other hand was carrying that box filled with the bombs.
“You did it.” General Ryan smiled bitterly.
Kyle arched his eyebrows. “Anything wrong?”
“The higher ups are planning to send Mr. Yuri to the few research base because he had almost reached rank 5. He was considered as the fastest and many people even willing to hand him the crystals necessary for his rank advancement.” General Ryan rubbed his forehead.
He had also been offered the help of Mr. Yuri, but at that time Kyle had already departed. General Ryan was delaying answering them and seeing his son returned in one piece and succeeded, he was sure that the other party would be disappointed.
“You can tell him that if he wanted to try his hand against a rank 5 giant mutated ants, he can go there. There are a lot of giant mutated ants in the nest and might break out. The Research Institute is in the center of several cities including City B, this news will definitely pull them out of hiding.” Kyle glanced at his father.
General Ryan was stunned. “Are you sure?”
“There are a lot of rank 4 giant mutated ants there.” Kyle shrugged.
“How did you manage to get out safely?” General Ryan was astonished. If there were a lot of rank 4 giant mutated ants, there was no way that they would be able to get out safely.
“Oh.” Kyle smiled lightly. “I’m rank 5, so naturally these rank 4 giant mutated ants are not my match.”
Jake snickered at the back while Lotte was trying hard to hold back her laugh. Dylan himself was turning to look at the side while his shoulder shook a bit. Seeing General Ryan’s astonished expression, it seemed that he never expected that the so called faster ranker was actually not a match against this devilish son.
“You...”
“And Little Kitty is also rank 5 in her space ability.” Kyle smiled faintly. When dealing with the giant mutated ants, he had noticed that Kate’s space ability was getting even better. She could even move items from her space into a further distance.
This was what allowed them to be able to return so early and not stayed trapped in that damned Research Institute.
Her healing ability...
Kyle was not sure. It should be either late rank 4 or already rank 5. After all, Kate herself was not entirely sure about it.
General Ryan looked at his son speechless. What kind of monster did he give birth to?
“You... fine. Don’t tell others about this. I’ll contact them to tell about what you find in the research institute, but you need to give me detailed report about what happened there.” General Ryan paused. “Not a single word about your advancement.”
Kyle shrugged.
The others sighed.
It seemed that they would have to make the report together then. After all, they had to make sure that their story matched.
After getting a room for them to finish their report, General Ryan looked at the box and then opened it. The number of the bombs were uneven because Kyle had used some of them to deal with the giant mutated ants.
General Ryan was sure that this was what Kyle going to write considering that a lot of these bombs were missing.
But if Kyle was already rank 5, why did he take a lot of these bombs?
What he didn’t know was that these bombs were placed in Kate’s space in case it was necessary for her to fight against more enemies. After all, her space element had been at quite disadvantage, so this would be good.
Still...
Kate felt that every means of her attack ability would kill her enemies. Was there no other somewhat ‘more normal’ attack for her?
Knock! Knock!
“Yes?”
“General Ryan, General Ryou is here to bring you the new message from the higher up.”
“Let him come inside.” General Ryan’s eyes were a shade colder. These annoying people kept on coming at them.
