The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 163

163 Promise

“You’re here.”

Kate’s Father didn’t need to turn around for him to know that Kyle had approached him. He had a short military experience when he was young, so he knew that Kyle noticed that he knew the latter had known about his daughter.

And looking at how Kyle was treating his daughter, Kate’s Father didn’t believe that he had no ulterior motives.

Kyle looked at Kate’s Father and then called out, “Father in law.”

Kate’s Father’s expression changed and he stood up before punching towards Kyle.

Bam!

The punch landed squarely and Kyle didn’t dodge. He felt that he should just let this middle aged man vent on him because his daughter didn’t even realize about it.

“I should have known that you’re such a scheming man,” Kate’s Father scolded.

When he first saw Kyle, he could remember that his instinct was telling him that this young man was very dangerous. Even though Kyle was still teenager at that time, Kate’s Father could see his terrifying capability and also his dark personality.

.....

An uncontrollable brat who only cared about his mother. If not because he had such a rare intelligence and could even learn without others telling him, the nation would not even want to protect this kind of brat and nurture him.

The moment Kyle lost his mother was when the monster was unleashed.

Countless people directly bore the brunt and nothing could be traced back to him. It was so scary, but the nation couldn’t do anything when there was no evidence linked it to Kyle in the slightest bit.

It was as if he could control things even when he was not present.

“I’m not going to hurt her.” Kyle looked at Kate’s Father deeply. He knew very well that Kate’s Father had seen him during those days and had even interacted with him. Thus, he didn’t bother to hide his thoughts in front of him.

It would be better for him to be upfront about this matter and let this middle aged man prepared himself first.

“You better be or I’ll be the first one to chase after you. Even if I’m not as strong as you, I can definitely make sure that your life wouldn’t be smooth.” Kate’s Father snorted and then pointed at the long bench. “Take a seat.”

Kyle sat beside Kate’s Father. “I didn’t expect things to turn this way.”

“You mean about her turning into your cat? Do you think I expect it too? If I had known that this will happen, I would have stopped them from taking that damned meteorite from the sea.” Kate’s Father rolled his eyes.

A bit more than one year ago, there was a meteorite that struck their sea. When a meteorite hit the planet, there would definitely be large interference. But because it was in the sea, the people were not affected that much.

All they could see was a flash of light passed by at very high speed.

But the impact in the sea is not small. It caused small tsunami on the nearby beach and large waves that disrupted the lives of the creature undersea. And when they take it out, everyone was fascinated by those colorful gems.

Because the area where it fell was categorized as international area that was close to their nation, they had to divide the resources. In the end, the gem was carefully broken in order to be able to given to various nations.

Their nation had some parts.

They tried to separate based on colors and kept them.

At first, they only thought that it was valuable because of the color, but then things changed when they realized what these gems could do and the powerful energy contained within the gems. There were even countless search parties trying to find the pieces that had been chipped away during the process of this gem landing on this planet.

But no one ever though that because of these pieces that were left in the air, they eventually formed red cloud that covered the entire world. And two months ago, the first red rain finally formed.

The power contained within the gem should never be touched by ordinary people.

Because if they did, the body wouldn’t be able to contain the energy inside and they will eventually die. After they had fainted, they didn’t even have the chance to wake up again during the first red rain.

The second red rain was somewhat better. Some who got hit by the red rain still managed to survive but the majority ended up dead. There were even more giant mutated animals that appeared after the second red rain.

It was tragic.

“Taking that meteorite out is not your decision but the entirety of the researchers in the nation.” Kyle narrowed his eyes.

If anything, they should stop this meteorite from hitting their planet in the first place. That would be the best possible option. If there was no meteorite, there would be no giant mutated animals around them and no other mutation.

“You’re the same as your father.” Kate’s Father rolled his eyes. “And you’re not allowed to do anything to her.”

“I won’t.”

“Not even when she returned to her adult form if she could return.”

Kyle: “...”

Are you asking me to be a eunuch?

Kate’s Father knew that it would be impossible, but he still would like to mention it first because if not, he would feel extremely annoyed that he didn’t know how to vent. In any case, he still didn’t actually want to let his little girl to stay with this young man in the slightest bit.

“That girl didn’t even want me to tell you about this, but there’s simply no point. She can be so stupid at times.” Kate’s Father sighed.

Kyle had guessed that.

When he saw the little girl looked like she was so troubled, he guessed that she didn’t want him to know that she’s Kate. As for the reason why, he himself was not sure and only hoped that she would slowly begin to care more for him.

Not just because she’s his little cat right now but because of other things.

“Do you think it’s possible for her to turn back into her adult form?” Kyle asked solemnly. This was one of the sore point that he had when he found out about her real identity. If she couldn’t turn back into a human... he would need to wait more than a decade based on her current age.

Right now, he felt that a decade was an extremely long time. If it was possible, he would like to have her turn back to human...

It was just unfortunate that it would be impossible for him to do so.

“I don’t know.” Kate’s Father was also feeling somewhat desperate about this matter. He wanted his daughter to be the same as she used to be, but he also knew that the matter of this transformation and mutation was entirely new in this world.

There was no way that he would be able to know whether this would be possible or not without any prior case.

“I tested her DNA.”

Kate’s Father was glaring dangerously at Kyle when he heard this matter.

“She knew about it because I do it in front of her eyes,” Kyle continued as if he hadn’t seen Kate’s Father’s eyes. “She had two sets of completely different DNA when she’s in her human form and when she’s in her cat’s form.”

Kate’s Father was silent.

There was no need for a genius for him to understand that Kyle was saying that his daughter could actually pass as an ordinary cat and also as a human being. It was as if the two completely different form could coexist peacefully.

This was a discovery that would definitely shake the researchers’ world after they found out about it.

But at the same time, a lot of people would be chasing after Kate.

“I have erased the record.” Kyle stood up. “Kate is... different. I’ll protect her, but you should also prepare a way out for you and your wife. She’ll be sad if anything happen to you.”

“I know.”

Kate’s Father leaned back on the chair and looked at the starry sky above him. He had thought that because both he and his wife could awaken abilities, his daughter might be able to do the same.

But he never expected that she would actually be one of the rare phenomenon.

Ah, how much he wanted to bring Kate home and let her stay with him without the need to contact the outside world in the slightest bit. That way, no one would be able to covet her nor see her.

But if he did that, he would restrain his daughter’s happiness.

How annoying.

...

Sora’s Corner: Meteorite.

It’s not impossible for meteorite to reach the ground, but when they did, it will definitely cause damage not worse than nuclear weapon. There was a meteorite at the north area of earth in early 2000. I forgot the exact time and country, but it had caused countless buildings to be destroyed just because of the impact while the size of the meteorite itself that reached the ground is not big. (But it’s definitely far bigger when it first hit the atmosphere)

If it’s very big, it’s estimated that it can even cause huge catastrophe since it could destroy a lot of things just based on the impact.

For details, you can search for yourself. It’ll take a long time for me to explain everything here (>.<)
