Chapter 63 Do You Have A Wife Or Daughter?
"He's really dangerous..." Helplessly, Xue Yan rubbed her eyebrows in embarrassment.
"If it had been another man..." She thought, imagining the same situation, but soon shook her head bitterly; if it had been anyone else, the moment he showed any sense of disrespect towards her, he would be dead.
Xue Yan didn't know that the moment Victor did not want to give up his love for her, even under pain of death, and was willing to die for it, he left an imprint in her heart that was almost impossible to erase.
"Upon learning that Victor has entered the spatial pocket, the righteous sects, out of fear of Victor's future potential, may begin to act..." Xue Yan sat back in her chair, resting her hand on her chin.
She clearly understood that if the righteous sects wanted to destroy his development, there would be no better opportunity. She wasn't worried about what might happen in the dimensional pocket since the Heavenly Ascension(3) cultivators couldn't enter it.
With Victor's cultivation level only a few chosen disciples of righteous sects could compare, even given their zeal, they would only attack Victor as a last resort and only when the opportunity presented itself.
She believed that Victor was fit for the job and if he wasn't and died as a consequence, she would just assume that she was wrong about him and go back to her estranged self again without bothering about Victor anymore.
She was only concerned about what could happen outside the spatial pocket, even if the righteous sects wanted to do something with it, she would not allow it.
Victor was the only person with whom she was happy to talk and felt truly alive, unlike her usual state.
Looking at the empty, cold hallway, many thoughts ran through Xue Yan's mind.
"Guardian Zhao, I want you to guard Victor all the way, if someone decides to hurt him I want him killed no matter who it is, prince, princess or whoever they are, they must die. If anything happens to Victor you don't have to come back. I will find you myself." - Coldly said Xue Yan in the empty hall.
After a few breaths, an answer was heard.
"It will be done!" - A voice in the void answered.
'It should be okay now,' thought Xue Yan.
Guardian Zhao was well known not only among the Temple of the Dark Moon but also among the righteous and demonic sects for his strength, of course there were very few people who could compete with the masters of the higher sects.
If the righteous sects try to eliminate Victor, they could easily do it, Xue Yan was pretty sure that a master of any higher sect would not go personally just to kill Victor, but one may never be too cautious.
**********
"This woman is too cruel!" - Victor muttered grudgingly as he rose from the ground.
Because of the silly misunderstanding between them, he couldn't help but tease her as her embarrassed look was quite amusing, but he never expected her to suddenly throw him out of the castle.
She didn't give him any weapons or protective items to keep him alive, which upset Victor a bit, but anticipating the legacy that could be obtained from the spatial pocket Victor instantly forgot about his resentment.
It was still a kind of generous gift from the sect master, for such information was secret among all and only a few knew about it. The sect master most likely believed in him, she believed that he could get it and Victor did not want to miss this chance.
"Hey, isn't that Victor?" - On his way back to his abode, Victor heard a rather familiar voice behind him; when he turned around, he noticed an old man. It was the old man he had met at the sect selection in Tangxiang City.
The old man who not only led him to the Temple of the Dark Moon, but who nearly got him killed.
Victor was not in the mood to talk to him, looking at the old man, who was smiling like a full-fat cat, Victor had the urge to hit him.
'He doesn't seem to be in the mood,' thought Elder Wu, he was not at all offended by Victor's behavior, partly feeling guilty for setting him up.
"I see the sect master hasn't killed or maimed you for confessing!" - The old man laughed out loud.
At this point Victor suddenly stopped.
"Were you the one to tell her that?" - Suddenly Victor asked, now he had huge doubts about this good-natured-looking old man.
Elder Wu didn't even bother to justify himself and nodded without hesitation.
"I already warned you, whether you wanted to or not you had to become a disciple of my sect, and it all worked out the way I thought it would. You've still got all your arms and legs, so you're alright." - The old man shook his head in satisfaction.
'So it was him!' Elder Wu had inadvertently put himself on Victor's blacklist after this deed; he was now the man Victor wanted to get revenge on in the first place.
"Come on, don't be offended! Is it bad to be a disciple of my Dark Moon Temple as opposed to joining a righteous sect and becoming a vile hypocrite?" - Elder Wu, kept rambling on about some nonsense, but Victor didn't listen to him, just watched with a piercing gaze and if a stare could kill, the old man would have already died countless times.
"Old man, do you have a wife or a daughter?" - Victor broke his silence.
Elder Wu looked at Victor in surprise; he thought that the first words Victor would utter would be an insult, but he was wrong.
"No, this old man joined the Dark Moon Temple as a child, I cut off all worldly desires long ago." - Elder Wu replied, stroking his beard like a wise old man.
"Too bad otherwise-" Victor didn't continue his words, smiling wryly.
If the old man had had a wife or daughter, Victor would have made every effort to cuckold him or steal his daughter's heart before brutally breaking it, but unfortunately the old man got lucky this time.
Without another word Victor left.
