Chapter 330: 330 I Accept This Heavy Blow

Chapter 330: Chapter 330 I Accept This Heavy Blow
(Second post.)

The next morning, Luo Ziling and the other three roommates went to class together.

The morning classes were Advanced Mathematics and Anatomy.

Although Luo Ziling had studied mathematics with his grandfather, it was only basic mathematics. Advanced Mathematics was like rocket science to him; he couldn’t understand a thing. As he listened to the teacher’s explanations in class, Luo Ziling felt that coming to school was a mistake. It was only a matter of time before people realized he was a poor student. Since he couldn’t understand, he started to doze off.

Fortunately, Anatomy was not very unfamiliar. He could understand everything in the textbook, and he followed what the teacher was saying.

More importantly, his knowledge of Anatomy was no less than what was written in the books.

Although his grandfather was a practitioner of traditional medicine, he didn’t reject Western medicine and had many Western medical books at home, including anatomy books.

Luo Ziling, who had been studying medicine since childhood, had memorized Anatomy thoroughly from an early age.

He knew all the muscles, bones, and nerves in each part of the body by heart. The acupuncture points in traditional Chinese medicine were far more difficult to remember because there were so many. But Luo Ziling, with his excellent memory, had always remembered these basic aspects very clearly.

The teacher’s lecture was too superficial, and he had no interest in listening, so he started to doze off again.

After dozing for a while, he felt that sleeping in class was too disrespectful to the teacher, so he simply picked up his phone and started texting Yang Qingyin.

He didn’t know what class Yang Qingyin was in, but as soon as he sent the message, she replied immediately.

Just as Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin were having a heated chat, the teacher unfortunately caught him. It was the first lesson, and a student was playing with their phone down below. The teacher became very angry and decided to use Luo Ziling, the student who wasn’t paying attention, to establish authority.

“This student, the basic Anatomy we’ve just covered, do you understand it all already?” asked the teacher, a woman in her fifties teaching Anatomy, as she gestured for Luo Ziling to stand up and answer her question, “Or have you already reached a point where you don’t need to listen to the lectures?”

“Teacher, I already knew what you just explained, so I stopped listening,” Luo Ziling confessed quickly, afraid of being reprimanded by the teacher.

“Pfft, acts like he’s really something,” a displeased voice came from behind him.

Luo Ziling turned around and saw that it was a classmate named Huang Guoliang.

Huang Guoliang was quite handsome and tall, easily the second most handsome guy in the class next to Luo Ziling.

But he thought he was handsomer than Luo Ziling and hence held a grudge against him.

Nevertheless, Luo Ziling’s dominant displays in a few fights made Huang Guoliang reluctant to provoke him easily.

Today, since Luo Ziling was caught playing with his phone, Huang Guoliang took the opportunity to sneer.

Several other students who also had issues with Luo Ziling started to make a racket along with him.

The teacher didn’t stop them but spoke to Luo Ziling seriously, “How can you learn if you don’t pay attention in class?”

“Luo Ziling’s ancestors have been doctors for generations; he already understands the basics of medicine,” defended Cao Jianhui, who was sitting beside Luo Ziling, loyally. He then turned and glared at Huang Guoliang, saying, “What’s so great about you? Can you even compare to Ziling?”

“Class president, don’t bully people just because you think you can,” retorted Huang Guoliang, feeling backed by the teacher and therefore unafraid of Cao Jianhui, the temporary class president. His tone was arrogant, “He was the only one playing with his phone during class. As class president, why are you speaking for him? What’s the big deal about having a family history in medicine? If their medical skills were really good, why would they come to study at the Medical University?”

Luo Ziling didn’t want to argue any further and smiled at the Anatomy teacher, “Teacher, I apologize for playing with my phone during class, but I really do know all of this stuff. Why don’t you test me?”

The teacher thought for a moment and decided not to be too hard on the student, relenting a bit, “Then tell me about the 206 bones in the human body. If you can do that, I’ll let the phone incident slide.”

“No problem,” Luo Ziling said, using his own body as a specimen, and recited all 206 bones in the human body. He didn’t stop at naming the bones, he also listed all the nerves in the body, “There are twelve pairs of cranial nerves, which include the olfactory nerve, optic nerve, oculomotor nerve, trochlear nerve, trigeminal nerve, abducent nerve, facial nerve, vestibulocochlear nerve, glossopharyngeal nerve, vagus nerve, accessory nerve, and hypoglossal nerve,” after the nerves, he listed all the joints as well.

After effortlessly spouting all this basic Anatomy knowledge, Luo Ziling saw the astonished look in his Anatomy teacher’s eyes, along with the peculiar glances from all his classmates.

“Wow, Ziling, Boss, you’re really an academic master! In Anatomy exams, you’re definitely acing it,” Cao Jianhui was even more excited than Luo Ziling himself due to Luo Ziling’s rich knowledge in Anatomy.

The Anatomy teacher was obviously shocked too; she asked Luo Ziling some deeper level Anatomy questions. Luo Ziling answered them fluidly, even mentioning all the acupuncture points from traditional Chinese medicine.

“Alright, I believe you’re not interested in my lecture, that’s why you played with your phone,” the Anatomy teacher was quite magnanimous. Plus, upon seeing that Luo Ziling wasn’t just any handsome, she didn’t make things difficult for him. “From now on, you may be excused from attending my classes if you wish to take leave.”

Luo Ziling didn’t expect such an outcome and was immediately surprised.

The others were envious, while Huang Guoliang, who was sarcastic just a while ago, was full of frustration.

During lunch, when Yang Qingyin heard about Luo Ziling’s “adventure” in class that day, she was greatly surprised.

“Junior, I didn’t expect you to be such a prodigy,” Yang Qingyin giggled, “It seems that you won’t need to attend many classes from now on, you know even more than the teachers.”

To understand Luo Ziling’s medical condition and to take care of him, Yang Qingyin let Ye Xiaoli bring back lunch so that Luo Ziling could join her. With Yang Qingyin being so considerate, Luo Ziling of course accepted and came over happily to have lunch together.

“But there are many classes that I don’t understand at all,” Luo Ziling said somewhat sheepishly, “This morning in Advanced Mathematics, I felt like I was an alien, completely lost. If there were a test, I’d probably have to hand in a blank paper.”

“Do you want me to tutor you?”

“Of course I would!” Luo Ziling readily agreed.

“What will you give me in return?” Yang Qingyin smiled slyly.

“Whatever senior wants, senior gets,” Luo Ziling laughed along, “Even if you want me, I’ll give myself to you.”

“Cough… cough…” Ye Xiaoli, who was eating, almost choked on Luo Ziling’s words.

Yang Qingyin’s face turned red in an instant, and she glared at Luo Ziling resentfully, “Who wants you? A stinky skin bag, it can’t even be sold for money.”

“Alright, I accept this heavy blow,” Luo Ziling hung his head and sat down, “Anyway, it’s not as valuable as you.”

As they were joking around, Yang Qingyin’s phone rang. She frowned when she saw the caller ID.

But in the end, she still answered the call.

After a few words, her expression changed drastically.
