Book 5: Chapter 34: The Only Way To Avoid Exposure
I felt the assassin in my arms slowly recover her energy and begin to secretly make some petty maneuvers. But with how close our bodies were sticking together, it was a pipe dream if she thought she could conceal it from me. I very lightly bound her hands. Even though the assassins body was motionless, she kept increasing the strength going into her wrists in an attempt to struggle free.
This seemingly tranquil scene was in fact filled with restless undercurrents.
I had no other choice but to pray that Aleya would fall asleep a bit earlier and let me go, but reality proved that when someones down on their luck, misfortunes buddies will come knocking.
Aleya unfortunately was in the mood to reminisce tonight since she asked me one of her seldom to come by inquiries:
Young master, can you talk with Aleya for a while?
The assassin freed one of her hands and moved her finger back and forth on my chest. I felt tickled by her movements, so I couldnt help but slap her on the back. The assassin trembled, but didnt stop her movements. I calmed down and focused on what she was doing. I realized that she was writing A-I-R.
After pondering for a bit, I understood her meaning.
She was currently holding her breath and for assassins, holding ones breath is one of the prerequisites for hiding ones aura. Every time a person who studies martial arts inhales and exhales, they also restrain and liberate their power. This sort of restraint-liberation is whats called aura intent and can be perceived by others. The assassin branch first practices how to hold their breath, then practice how to control the fluctuation of their own power to the smallest extent so that they arent sensed by others as much as possible.
It can be said that the core of an assassin is based on the word concealment. The problem is that while the assassins level is very high, Aleya is a mere 30 centimeters away from her and is close enough to touch her with one wrong move. Its one hundred percent impossible for her to hide her power in such circumstances. So long as she takes a breath, Aleya will certainly sense it and the entire affair will be thoroughly exposed when the time comes.
I felt anxious, but Aleya is rarely willing to take the initiative to speak with me. This flag thats been raised with great difficulty must be properly protected, so I temporarily ignored the information that the assassin sent me and replied to Aleya with a smile:
Sure.
Aleya didnt turn around, but her body was very close to me. If she did turn around, I had no doubt that her stretching arm would bump into the assassin. Aleya didnt look at me, but rather whispered:
In the past, when we were in Lingyun City, I was actually quite worried about young masters future.
Nonono, Im more worried about my present.
At the time, even though I followed young master around the city to stroll every day, young master didnt have a single friend. Young master was always smiling, giving off a sense of mystery; like young master could do anything, could understand anything, and thus perhaps didnt need any friends. But in my opinion, the current young master is the happiest.
Im 100% unhappy! Im extremely panicked right now!!
During those times, I would occasionally think to myself. In the future, young master will have a lot of friends, the type of friend that young master can feel the warmth coming from their body.
Although it can be said that Im feeling the warmth coming from this assassins body, shes the farthest thing from a friend to me.
Aleya went silent for a while, then whispered:
Its really good to be here in West-Resisting City. Young master.
Y-yesreally good.
Just as I agreed, I discovered that the quilt was lifted up a small crack. The room at this moment is very very dark, so Im nearly unable to see her appearance. Only her eyes can be counted as visible and those eyes of hers clearly had anger in them. I knew from this that the breath she was holding was quickly nearing its limit, but there was nothing I could do about it except answer Aleya while hurriedly pushing her back into the quilt. Exactly at this time, Aleya thought aloud:
That note clearly wrote tonight, why havent we seen that assassin?
Ive seen her, shes right by your side!!
I cleared my throat and said:
About this ah, maybe she was frightened into not coming upon seeing so many people together.
I could clearly feel the assassin lying on my body begin to twist and turn.
I had no choice but to hold her a little tighter and keep her from flailing around, then reassured Aleya:
Sleep well. Hejis outside standing guard. It would be for the best that the assassin doesnt come; after all, what the eye doesnt see, the heart doesnt grieve over.
Aleya nodded seriously, then turned around and stretched out her hands towards me
I loosened the hand holding the assassin in place and pressed it onto Aleyas hands. Then, I forcefully put on a calm smile and said:
Good night, Aleya.
Aleyas hand lightly connected with my wrist while her eyes stared at me for a while. Then, she mm-ed and murmured:
Young master, go to sleep a bit earlier too, okay.
With that said, she closed her eyes.
Its over.
I let out a sigh of relief.
In the instant I thought that, the quilt lifted open.
The assassin stretched out her head fiercely, embraced my neck, and bit my lips. As our lips overlapped and joined seamlessly, she poured out all the air in her lungs into my mouth and then suddenly inhaled, sucking out all of the fresh air I had just breathed into my body, into her body. This made me feel suffocated for a split-second.
But I was too busy to experience the feeling of suffocation; what emerged in my mind was a greater sense of panic
Thats right, panic!
Unlike last times kiss, I knew perfectly well that Aleya wasnt asleep this time.
She was merely closing her eyes next to be; any slight movement could cause her to open her eyes. Even if there wasnt any movement, she might still open her eyes upon remembering something and immediately be met with this explosive scene, like that of an asteroid crashing onto Earth.
But I still quite admired this assassin in my heart.
This exchange of breath with me is equivalent to switching and circulating her aura intent through me. This action prevents her aura from proliferating into the surroundings, thus avoiding the possibility of being detected by Aleya.
I understand the principle.
But this, this
This is a ******* forced kiss, innit?
Ive just been forcefully kissed? And also in front of Aleya??
Ive never even seen what this person looks like yet Ive already been taken advantage of?? Isnt this too excessive?? Do you really take me, Li De, to be such a casual man??
Although I was angry at heart, my body had no way to resist.
Young master?
Aleya suddenly asked as she slowly opened her eyes.
I blinked at her and calmly questioned back:
Whats wrong?
At this very moment, the assassin was already lying motionless in my arms.
Aleya muttered:
Young masters body was stretched taut just now, I was thinking
I pacified her:
Its nothing, its nothing. Haha, hurry and sleep. Im going to sleep too. From now on, whoever doesnt sleep is a hyperactive puppy.
Aleya closed her eyes once more. Before long, she gradually drifted off into the realm of dreams.
When Aleya was finally sound asleep, the assassin in my arms arched her back, then slowly lifted open the quilt, sat up, and took back the knife.
I could distinctly feel the heart from her body; her body was practically steaming. Her nightwalking clothes were soaked in sweat and clung onto her body, outlining her dainty and exquisite figure.
She stared at me vigilantly. While I was itching to catch her and beat her up, I couldnt do anything like last time, lest I risk exposure. Therefore, I was relegated to unfortunately doing nothing and helplessly watching on as she hung the rope back onto the beam, slowly climbed up, and stealthily left.
I licked my lips and the resulting pain caused me to tremble all over.
Quite the ferocious mouth.
