Chapter 74 - Healing Little Uncle

Chapter 74: Healing Little Uncle

“Mom, what little confidence you have in me!” Tan Mo pouted. “Of course, I won’t give Butler Zhou a difficult time.”

“Okay, okay!” Xu Mingzhen laughed and patted Tan Mo’s head. “If you need anything, or if you want anything, just give me a call, and I’ll have your brothers bring it to you. By the way, is there anything you want to eat?”

The college entrance examination was finally over. The Tan family would be having a feast to reward Tan Mo for her hard work.

Tan Mo guessed what Xu Mingzhen was thinking and said with a smile, “When Little Uncle wakes up, I will be in the mood to have a big feast.”

“With Butler Zhou around, I definitely won’t starve. Don’t worry, Mom.” Tan Mo hugged Xu Mingzhen and said, “I’ll have dinner later. I’ll take pictures and send them to the group later.”

“Good.” Xu Mingzhen did not stay long.

It would not look good if she appeared reluctant to let Tan Mo stay.

Xu Mingzhen then got on the elevator.

Inside the elevator, she sighed as she thought about Tan Mo.

This was the first time Tan Mo would not be spending the night at their home.

In her heart, she was worried.

After Tan Mo saw Xu Mingzhen off, she returned to the suite.

Wei Zhiqian’s suite was very spacious.

It had a small living room, a bathroom, and a bedroom. It had complete facilities.

The living room was connected to an open-plan kitchen. The kitchen had no open-flame stove, but it had a microwave and an induction stove.

The patient’s bed was connected to the living room. One could see it as soon as they entered the room.

This was mainly so the doctors and nurses could easily see the patient and administer treatments.

The bedroom was for the patient’s minder.

Tan Mo grabbed a chair and sat down beside Wei Zhiqian’s bed.

She did not dare to put her hand directly on Wei Zhiqian’s wound.

If Butler Zhou returned and saw that she was touching We Zhiqian’s wound, he might misunderstand. Tan Mo would have no way of explaining herself.

Instead, Tan Mo held Wei Zhiqian’s hand and began to transfer energy to him. The energy slowly spread to the wound on his right shoulder.

Tan Mo looked at Wei Zhiqian as he slept peacefully.

She remembered how curious she was about Wei Zhiqian when he was still a teenager.

Wei Zhiqian was already outstanding back then. From then on, Tan Mo had been wondering what he would be like when he grew up.

Now, she finally had the answer.

Wei Zhiqian’s face and lips were pale; his lips were a little chapped.

Despite this, he was still handsome.

He usually appeared arrogant, but now, he looked fragile.

The anesthesia had worn off by now, and Wei Zhiqian’s brows were furrowing.

Tan Mo held Wei Zhiqian’s hand in one hand. She then stretched out her other hand to smooth out the crease on his brows.

Then, she held Wei Zhiqian’s hand with both hands.

Wei Zhiqian looked very calm, and his eyelashes were long and thick.

Under the light, his nose bridge was well defined, and deep shadows were cast on his face.

Tan Mo could not help but mutter, “I wonder what my little aunt will be like…”

“Don’t mention it in front of the Old Madam. Otherwise, she will urge Young Master Wei to get married again. Young Master Wei will be annoyed.” When Butler Zhou returned, he could not help but smile when he heard Tan Mo talking to herself.

Tan Mo looked at Wei Zhiqian in surprise, then asked, “Great-grandma is urging Little Uncle to marry soon?”

“She’s not exactly urging him to marry.” Butler Zhou laughed at the thought. “In the Old Madam’s words, it’s called planning ahead. She’s just worried that the young master won’t be able to find a girlfriend. Who will he marry in the future? So, he has to start looking for a suitable wife as soon as possible.”

Hearing that, Tan Mo could not help but laugh.

At this time, the hospital’s restaurant served dinner. It looked appetizing for hospital food.

“Come and eat first,” Butler Zhou said.

Only then did Tan Mo stop transferring energy to Wei Zhiqian. She then checked his body temperature with an electronic thermometer. Relieved that he was fine, she left his side to eat.

After taking a bite, Tan Mo remembered that she had not taken photos of the food yet. She noticed the confusion on Butler Zhou’s face, so she took the initiative to explain, “I have to take photos and send them to my family to let them know that I’m eating well and not to worry about me.”

“Even so, they will still be worried.” Butler Zhou looked at Tan Mo with an affectionate expression.

Her family had spoiled her since she was a child. It was normal for them to worry about her as she was staying up all night to take care of others when she had not done so in the past.

Tan Mo’s eyes were bright. She said sweetly, “With Butler Zhou here, I won’t have a hard time.”

Butler Zhou felt good after hearing Tan Mo’s compliment.

He made a mental note to himself that he would take care of Tan Mo better.

This was the only way he could live up to Tan Mo’s commendation of him.

When Tan Mo was done eating, someone came to take away the tableware and clean up.

Tan Mo returned to Wei Zhiqian’s side and continued to heal him.

To Butler Zhou, Tan Mo held Wei Zhiqian’s hand in prayer. She was praying for his speedy recovery and that he woke up soon.

Butler Zhou secretly took a picture of the two and sent it to the Wei family’s elders.

“Mo Mo is so caring,” the Old Madam said as she looked at the photo. She was relieved that someone dear was watching over her grandson.

Tan Mo really stayed to take care of Wei Zhiqian.

Wei Mingwen glanced at Xiao Menghan, pleased. “Zhiqian didn’t dote on Mo Mo for nothing.”

More than anything, Wei Zhiqian’s parents were grateful that Tan Mo had stayed to look after their son.

“Miss Mo Mo, you can rest. I will call you if there is something.” Butler Zhou noticed that it was already past eleven o’clock.

Tan Mo shook her head. However, by this time, she had transferred a lot of energy to Wei Zhiqian and was feeling dizzy.

She felt as if she had not slept for days. Her eyes felt heavy.

“I’m not sleepy yet.” Tan Mo tried her best to look alert. “Butler Zhou, don’t worry about me. We can take turns watching over him for the night. How about I look after him for the first half, then you for the second half?”

How could Butler Zhou leave Tan Mo here and rest?

He could see that there was no convincing Tan Mo otherwise. He then replied, “Then you must rest as soon as you feel tired. Don’t exhaust yourself. Call me if you need anything.”

“Hmm!” Seeing that Butler Zhou give in, Tan Mo was finally relieved.

As Tan Mo spoke to Butler Zhou, she continued to heal Wei Zhiqian.

Tan Mo felt that her strength was waning. However, seeing Wei Zhiqian’s face blush a little, Tan Mo clenched her teeth and held on.

‘Come on! You can do this!’ she told herself.

Tan Mo wasn’t sure how long she could endure it. She held on nevertheless.

Then she lost consciousness. Her eyes completely shut, and she lay beside the bed.

When Butler Zhou saw her, he rushed over, wanting to take Tan Mo to the bedroom.

Unexpectedly, as he tried to break off Tan Mo’s and Wei Zhiqian’s intertwined hands, he couldn’t do it.
