Tsundere Campus Goddess and Rogue Master

Chapter 37

C37 – You Fought with Bears Every Day in the Past

In an instant, the basketball court erupted in a chorus of shock and awe.

“Wow, Wang Xiao actually took down Instructor Lee.”

“That’s terrifying! Just one kick and Instructor Lee was sent flying.”

“Holy smokes! From now on, in Traditional Chinese Medicine System Class Four, Wang Xiao is the man!”

The guys in Traditional Chinese Medicine System Class Four gazed at Wang Xiao with pure admiration, their eyes brimming with reverence.

Meanwhile, the girls were practically swooning over him, their eyes glittering with adoration. Some of the more daring ones looked ready to devour him whole.

Unbeknownst to Wang Xiao, this showdown had just earned him an army of adoring fans in his class.

“He’s so impressive!”

In the crowd, Yao Beier couldn’t take her eyes off Wang Xiao, murmuring in amazement.

After all, what beauty doesn’t fall for a hero? The gallant image of Wang Xiao standing up for her had etched a deep mark in Yao Beier’s heart.

“Cough cough…”

At that moment, Instructor Lee, coughing lightly, struggled to his feet.

Wang Xiao’s kick had packed such a punch that even a seasoned soldier like Lee was rattled.

The students of Traditional Chinese Medicine System Class Four watched him warily, wondering if the humiliation might set him off.

”Instructor Lee, are you up for more?”

Wang Xiao asked, his tone even and his face impassive as he looked at Lee.

Instructor Lee’s gaze flickered uncertainly at Wang Xiao, his fists clenching and then releasing.

“You’ve won. From today, you’re exempt from my training, but you must still show up,” Instructor Lee finally declared, his voice grave.

”And what about them?”

Wang Xiao, still composed, gestured towards the group of lovely female classmates and questioned Instructor Lee.

He had stepped in because Instructor Lee’s training was just too severe, especially for the girls. After all, it’s well-known that beauties enjoy certain privileges worldwide.

At Wang Xiao’s words, the eyes of all the girls in class four sparkled, looking at him with gratitude and admiration.

Wang Xiao oppa, I’m going to have your babies!

“Starting today, their training intensity will remain unchanged, but they can choose their own venue.”

Instructor Lee’s brow creased slightly at these words. He paused for a moment before speaking up.

Whoa…

The female students from Traditional Chinese Medicine Class Four erupted in cheers upon hearing Instructor Lee’s announcement, their faces alight with fervent excitement.

“Awesome! Wang Xiao oppa, I love you!”

“Back off, everyone! Prince Charming Wang Xiao is mine!”

Though the rigor of their training hadn’t lessened, Wang Xiao had secured for them the freedom to choose their own training grounds.

This meant they weren’t confined to outdoor spaces; they could opt for indoor venues.

And everyone knew that Forest City University boasted several indoor facilities equipped with fans…

In a bold show of appreciation, some of the girls rushed to Wang Xiao, enveloping him in a big, grateful hug.

In no time at all, Wang Xiao found himself at the center of attention, encircled and embraced by a bevy of young, beautiful classmates.

This spectacle left Soong Ming, Feng Lee, Lin Hua, and the other male students green with envy, grinding their teeth in jealousy as their fists clenched with audible pops.

“Take a ten-minute break, then resume practicing your stances. I’ll step out for a bit; you’re in charge of overseeing them.”

Instructor Lee surveyed the tumultuous scene with a slight frown. He refrained from scolding them, instead pointing at Wang Xiao and warning, “When I return, if your stances aren’t up to par, the privilege of choosing your own venue will be revoked.”

With that, Instructor Lee, nursing the hand with two fingers broken by Wang Xiao, took his leave.

The afternoon training flew by, and as dinner time approached without Instructor Lee’s return, Wang Xiao took the initiative to dismiss the group.

“Third Bro, the way you squared off with Instructor Lee earlier was just too cool. You have no idea how many girls in class have been secretly asking me for your contact info,” Feng Lee remarked, slapping Wang Xiao on the shoulder as they walked off the basketball court.

”So, did you give it to them?”

Upon hearing the words, Wang Xiao’s eyes suddenly bulged, and he asked earnestly, “You didn’t give it out, did you?”

“Relax, Third Bro, I wouldn’t dream of sharing your contact info without your say-so,” Feng Lee assured him, thumping his chest with a solemn look, ready to go to the mat for his brother.

“You actually didn’t?” Wang Xiao’s face registered shock, quickly followed by a pained look as he complained to Feng Lee. He’d finally had a shot at charming a girl, and Second Brother had shut him out completely!

”I thought… I thought you were too picky, so I…” Feng Lee stammered, taken aback by Wang Xiao’s reaction.

Too picky, my foot! Do I seem like that kind of guy? Not pursuing a girl is a crime against nature; chasing after one is practically a divine duty. Don’t you get it?

Wang Xiao felt a twinge of regret and a surge of irritation, but he couldn’t bring himself to blame Feng Lee. He managed a nonchalant facade and said, “Look, Second Bro, next time a girl asks for my number, just give it to her. Even though I might not end up dating them, making friends is always good. In this world, the more friends you have, the more paths you open up, right?”

“Uh, sure thing!” Feng Lee agreed, though something about Wang Xiao’s noble speech seemed off to him.

”Third Bro, did you ever study martial arts? The way you squared off with Instructor Lee, it didn’t seem like any ordinary taekwondo,” Soong Ming interjected with a curious look.

”Martial arts? I’ve never formally studied them. I just used to spar with the little dumb bear the old man kept on the mountain. At first, the bear would always get the better of me, but over time, I turned the tables and had it begging for mercy. Maybe that’s why I’m a decent fighter,” Wang Xiao explained with a shrug and a casual tone.

He had only learned medical arts and the use of hidden weapons from the old man. His fighting skills came from those bouts with the old man’s little dumb bear.

Hearing Wang Xiao’s words, Soong Ming, Feng Lee, and Lin Hua all inhaled sharply, exchanging glances with a mix of surprise and disbelief.

Fighting a bear?

Was their Third Brother really that formidable?

“Third Brother, you’re incredible. I was hoping you’d show me a move or two, but that seems out of the question now,” Lin Hua said, sighing softly.

”You’re too old, your bones are set. Martial arts are no longer an option for you,” Wang Xiao replied, giving Lin Hua a sidelong glance, his tone even.

”Wang, Wang Xiao?”

As they were about to leave the basketball court, a shy female voice called out from behind Wang Xiao. It was melodious, reminiscent of silver bells.

Wang Xiao paused and turned to see several attractive female classmates ushering over a girl with a sweet demeanor.

It was Yao Beier, the sweet-looking girl, who had called out to him.

The other girls watched with amused smiles as Yao Beier approached Wang Xiao, while Soong Ming and the rest discreetly stepped aside.

”Is that you? Feeling any better? You really need to build up your strength with more exercise,” Wang Xiao said, recognizing the frail girl and smiling warmly.

“I’m sorry,” Yao Beier responded, her cheeks flushing with a delicate pink as she apologized timidly.

Wang Xiao chuckled to himself. He’d only made a lighthearted comment; why was she apologizing?

He hadn’t paid much attention to Yao Beier during his scuffle with Instructor Lee, but now, taking a good look, he noticed that despite her petite stature, her figure was quite impressive beneath the camouflage uniform. Her exquisitely sculpted face was so enticing, it almost made one want to take a bite, and her apologetic, forlorn expression only added to her charm.

Feeling a bit playful, Wang Xiao leaned in close and teased her with a sly grin, “What’s got you so scared of me?”

”I-I’m not, not scared of you…” Yao Beier stammered, her heart racing. This was the first time a guy had gotten so close to her, and she found herself at a loss for words.

This flustered demeanor is absolutely adorable!
