Chapter 47: The Situation of Starlit Ocean, Onwards to Ancient Lightdusk Academy
After the meeting was done, Rias took Aleron to the Royal Library which not everyone could
access.
Aleron sat at the table while Rias also decided to practice her Bloodline's sorcery scroll in the library.
However, she was soon dumbfounded.
"This..."
At the table where they sat, the books arrived from the shelves just for Aleron to touch each book or scroll for a second before flying back!
"Interesting," Aleron raised his eyebrows while his eyes faintly flickered deep within, indicating the knowledge he was absorbing. "The general arcane knowledge you have in this library is high."
"So many theorized and experimented branches of each topic and element..."
Yueha was also roaming in the library, but even she was stunned. 'Master is amazing...he is really learning everything this fast.'
...
Meanwhile, Arran'tel arrived at the Starlit Ocean's crux, the giant city beneath it.
Thousands of kilometers away from the Lightdusk continent, and 500 kilometers deep in the ocean, Arran'tel sat on a fancy yet eldritch-like turtle as his mount.
"Stop for a bit, Mathur," Arran'tel spoke.
"Master, the aura ahead smells troublesome," the eldritch turtle spoke as its swamp-green eyes glowed.
"Mhmm," Arran' tel nodded. "Let's wait a bit."
The city was still below and he could see it, but there was a barrier around it and the barrier was connected to a powerful being.
Indeed, it didn't take long for a pair of eyes to approach them.
This pair of eyes was cyan-blue with a hint of dark blue patterns in its pupil.
The distance between these two eyes was 100 meters, indicating that just the head was over 100 meters wide!
However, the distance between the eyes shrunk as whatever creature it was turned smaller while approaching Arran'tel.
As it neared them and light reflected on its face, Arran'tel saw that it had draconic features mixed in with whiskers and a long nose head.
'A leviathan? Judging by its features, it's a mutated leviathan.'
Leviathans were generally giant water serpents, but this one had the blood of dragons in it, mutating in a more powerful way.
The aura it oozed out was a bonafide Primeval-rank one, in the upper stages of it!
"Who are you?" asked the Leviathan as its head floated twenty meters away from Arran'tel.
It also used its soul power and spell to inspect Arran'tel, but even without it, a deep-rooted fear started surfacing from it.
Arran'tel tapped his cane on the turtle without saying anything.
The turtle swam forward, crossing 10 meters of distance while also arching upward such that Arran'tel's gaze bore onto the leviathan from above.
"I am Rotchistar," the leviathan spoke, its eyes slightly trembling. "My master is the Beast Emperess Larshya."
Arran'tel didn't say anything in response.
However, Rotchistar still felt a gut-wrenching feeling from Arran'tel.
Despite being on Primeval-rank and having this sea as its territory, Rotchistar felt inferior and submissive from the depths of his wildest instincts.
The strange being that was neither a human nor a beastfolk, but something otherworldly entirely...demanded respect and submission from him.
Rotchistar understood this and this understanding was getting pierced into its eyes and bones with just Arran'tel's gaze.
And at this moment, the final understanding dawned on him.
He was no longer the master of this Starlit Ocean and he was given two options-either get devoured by this abyss or take sanctuary under it.
Rotchistar closed its eyes before its massive body that spanned over a kilometer in length, which was previously longer, shrunk again.
It shrunk until it was just a 5-meter-long cute mutated snake with four arms and four strange wing-like additions.
"Leviathan Rotchistar bows to the master."
Arran'tel nodded with a faint smile as his tentacle beard slightly shone, and he tapped his cane on the leviathan's head. "Do you want to receive Depthless Evolution right now or
later?"
"Before that, may I ask what you are going to do in the city?" Rotchistar asked.
Arran'tel looked below at the city covered in the barrier and fell into thought.
"Whose city is it, and why are they living here?"
Arran'tel could see that the beastfolks living in the city were all aquatic-type humanoid
beasts.
"The city is governed by Beast Lord Fresin, appointed by the Beast Emperor Raghara. They are living peacefully, but as per the Emperor's orders, if someone tries to cross the ocean from the Lightdusk continent, they must stop them."
"Oh, and they need to invoke Ocean Wrath to send beasts to the Lightdusk continent
periodically."
Arran'tel raised his eyebrows, 'So that's how it is, eh? But I should get the lord's input on
what to do. For now, I'll isolate this city and cut their connection outward.'
"Rotch, adjust your barrier to prevent them from communicating outward."
Rotchistar's eyes flickered, "Beast Lord will sense it. If you want to isolate the city, we need to
kill it. I am not powerful enough to kill him."
Arran'tel chuckled, "Alright, bring me to him. I'll deal with the so-called Beast Lord."
...
Northern Star Continent, Beast Empire Raventa.
"What?!" Beast Empress exclaimed, her aura destroying some furniture and blowing away the Beastfolk cats and bunnies who were trimming her nails and her hair.
"W-What happened, Empress? Did we make any mistake?"
Beast Empress's white tiger ears with black stripes twitched and she shook her head while she mumbled, "Rotchistar broke the contract. Why? What happened?"
In the next second, she vanished from the garden.
-
Aleron spent two hours and absorbed all magic-related knowledge from the library.
"Rias, I still haven't read books in your Empire's academy. Let's go there."
"Actually, you don't need to read there because the knowledge there mainly comes from this
library," Rias smiled.
"Oh, then it's time to go to the Light dusk Academy," Aleron grinned.
Rias smiled and nodded, "Alright. By the way, you'll have to take the entrance exam like
others if you want entry inside."
"Of course, haha. I am eager for that."
'That academy is the oldest place on this continent,' Aleron's eyes glinted with excitement. 'It
must have so many secrets.'
'Since I have unlimited Magilore, then I also want to utilize this aspect to fully and get powerful, irrespective of my life-form rank, humu!' Aleron nodded to himself in anticipation.
