Chapter 50: One of the Big Five, The Darkness Beneath Lively Colors
Chapter 50: One of the Big Five, The Darkness Beneath Lively Colors
Aleron fought against many monsters, though he killed all of them with one-shot attacks.
However, he still exercised his magic and physical body to the fullest in his way to consolidate his foundation.
Once he finished with that, Aleron relaxed and just waited for his Legendary Awakening, which would eventually come to him as he believed.
For other people, they had to trigger their Legendary Awakening by establishing a Legend of themselves within their mind, which would then take shape into some form of power. People usually triggered their Legendary Awakening by achieving a notable feat.
But it was basically the synthesis of one's desire, ambition, wish, or whatever like that which they firmly came to believe they would fulfill.
Leaving the forest, the Roxen continued the carriage for three hours before the group finally arrived at a major city.
On the way, Aleron learned about the big forces of the world and that their next destination was a place belonging to one of them.
Nailzim City.
This city was even bigger than the capital cities of Longinus and the Nightwing empires.
It spanned massively 17,430-kilometer square in area.
This city was a stand-alone ruler of its own, under no Kingdom or Empire.
But a single force still ruled it-the Aurspec Clan.
Of course, it ruled the city, but there were still other players in it, and just like every big place, it had its fair share of ups and downs, darkness and light, dirtiness and dustiness.
Entering this city meant entering a new world and Aleron was thrilled to arrive here just by looking at the city's outward appearance.
The massive buildings, lots of flying exotic vehicles, structures, floating balloons, screens, and even nature were mixed along with the magic, which was applied just as advanced as in the Longinus Empire's capital city, but it looked more prominent here.
"There's a lot to see in this city, so we'll stay here until you are satisfied, okay?" Rias said with a smile.
"Good idea, haha."
"First, we will get out of the carriage and put it away," Rias said as she got out while Aleron and Yueha followed.
They were at the entry area of the city which only had a limited amount of buildings, but more empty spaces where they could see airships parking, and transportation systems to get into the city like trains, flying cars, flying mattresses, and such.
"The roads in this city are only for pedestrians and shops. For people who want to travel fast, they can fly at a distance of 50 meters off the ground. For vehicles, they must fly 100 meters above the ground."
"Cool," Aleron's eyes sparkled and he zoomed in to see the city's various parts visible to him, 'everything is structured so properly, but I can't even see the whole of the city yet.
'It must be so massive.'
"Nice," Yueha nodded, also slightly eager to fill colors in her blank life upon seeing this city and feeling its liveliness.
Rias put away the carriage inside her storage ring after paying the city entry fee to the guard. "So what do you want to do first, Ale?" Roxen asked with a smile.
"Hmmm... It's only a bit over 2 PM, so the first thing we should do is to eat some good food," Aleron grinned. "Let's go to some fancy and good eating place in this city. I want to eat delicious stuff."
Rias chuckled and said, "There are many such places, but I'll take you to the best one." Powerhouses wouldn't get hungry easily, but many still ate daily just to enjoy the food-it was one of the pleasures of life. Moreover, the food made using Mystic Cooking was more tasty and also beneficial.
...
Golden Nectar House.
This restaurant was built through a giant tree 378 meters tall with a trunk that was 16 meters in radius.
It was massive, to say the least, but it looked magnificent with an exotic pavilion on its various branches and a fancy magic-leaf elevator to go on each floor.
The ground three floors catered to casual dining and above these three floors was a big kitchen that took three floors to itself.
Above the kitchen floors was the main luxurious section-VIP floors.
Arriving at the grand reception hall, the group walked towards one of the tables as a staff led them.
"A Tier-3 VIP dining pavilion, " Roxen said as she took out a small pouch and put it on the desk.
The lady wearing the mid-skirt uniform smiled and nodded as she took the pouch and opened
it.
"How much it cost?" Aleron curiously asked.
"Tier-3 VIP dining pavilion is the most expensive and it costs 1000 SSS-grade Magic stones," Rias smiled. "Food is free to a certain extent, but it would only cost more if many people are
going at once."
"I see," Aleron nodded. 'I wonder how many SSS-grade Magic Stones would gather by farming those Arcane Veins on the island?'
Soon, the group rode on a speedy-moving magic leaf elevator that moved up while traveling around the trunk like a snake.
Their Tier-3 VIP pavilion was at the 300-meter mark on the tree, one of the top floors.
These fancy open Tier-3 dining pavilions only numbered 5 in total, and they were on the last floors of the trees.
A branch across from theirs was another branch that had a tier-3 VIP pavilion on it and was filled with a group of ten, all young people looking in their late teens to early twenties. One of the girls who had worn a black dress with dark pink embroidery and had twin pink ponytails looked at Rias, Roxen, Yueha, and Aleron walking into that pavilion.
She rubbed her eyes and blinked, "Is that Princess Rias?"
"Rias?" the young man beside her asked as he raised his eyebrows. He had black hair and golden eyes with light brown skin and appeared handsome.
He was none other than a member of the Aurspec clan-Luthen Aurspec, and also the sponsor
of this party for his peers of the Lightdusk academy who were here to visit the city.
"She is really Rias," Luthen nodded as he used a skill to observe properly.
"Let's finish eating first, Dolly. We'll make contact later."
Dolly, the pink twin ponytails girl nodded with a smile, "I wonder what is she doing here? I
see some unfamiliar people with her."
"Hey, what are you two talking about? Come on, enjoy this dish. Freaking tasty."
"Nothing, just got a new surprise for us later," Luthen smiled.
...
Buried in the gaps of lively colors adorning this city, there lay some spots of darkness that
thrived on others' misery.
Rich and poor, powerful and weak...bound by circumstances and sections.
But for personal gains, no matter what status or circumstance, people could make other
people suffer.
As they say, one's happiness was another's suffering.
But the whiff of the dark stinks in this city was about to reach someone...someone who could place his heart on his sleeve and act for what he thought was right.
"Boss, we could only capture 13 tonight. One virgin boy under 16 is missing to fill the list."
"Find it in one hour or your head will roll off. Capture someone from ghettos. Look for one
behind the Golden Nectar."
Hurried footsteps echoed before vanishing, leaving only one man looking in his late thirties
with a creamy robe adorned in the dimly lit room.
He was bald but had a tattoo of a dragon head on his head.
"Some sacrifice is necessary for development. If I can get this deal by giving up some
unknown brats, it's well worth it."
*Ding*
Suddenly, his comm card rang and he frowned upon seeing the person who called him.
[Aurspec Clan Head]
"Father is calling me?" the bald guy leaned back in the chair and started tapping his head.
After three seconds, he accepted the call.
[Melkern Aurspec: Where are you, Reikern?]
[Reikern Aurspec: I'm a bit busy. Am I needed for anything?]
[Melkern Aurspec: There's an unrest in the East Hill area. Enforcers are busy and our clan's
capable members are not available, so go and check it out. Nobody should be harmed.]
[Reikern Aurspec: Understood.]
*Bang!*
Reikern smashed his fist on the table after cutting the call, his face ugly, "Did the old man
catch onto what I am doing or is he sending me there because there's really no one else
available?"
But he had no other choice now that he got an order from his father.
He took out another card and called someone.
[Reikern: The kids will be ready on the platter at the exact time. I'll be busy for a bit, so don't
call me until I call you again. And better yet, go to the Golden Nectar and have lunch if you
haven't.]
At the moment, Reikern didn't know that he would be the first spark that would light up this city and forever change it at the hands of Aleron.
