Chapter 65: The Punisher
Chapter 65: The Punisher
Aleron looked at the city below and added, "Some people among those that I killed have families, but if their family thinks they don't deserve to die after knowing their doings and look volatile, then you should try to make them understand, and if they don't understand."
Aleron narrowed his eyes and continued after a short pause.
"Then...you can kill them. If people seek vengeance for an evil person, then that vengence is a sin in my court," Aleron sharply said, "To pursue that vengence, they'll hurt innocents, so snuff them out if they can't understand that what they are doing is wrong."
Everyone felt goosebumps as they heard him.
But Aleron stretched his arms after he finished speaking and grinned, "And we are finally done."
"Next, we are going to the Relaxing Hill Resort for some massage and hot spring. I am feeling a bit sore and tired."
"That's a good place," Rias nodded with a smile. "Let's go there."
"Hold on, I'll teleport us," Aleron used Magilore, marking Yueha, Mei, Hua, Fang, Rias, and Roxen before teleporting all of them to the beautiful and luxurious hill resort to the east of the city.
Melkern, Lake, Bergetta, and other powerhouses who had flown up from the Aurspec clan floated with dazed expressions.
"C-Clan head...What should we do?"
Melkern took a deep breath and said with the resolution, "They are sealed and the platform is still there. Do as Mr. Aleron said. Read their memories from magic runes and punish them according to our laws."
"He even created such magic runes for those who don't have soul force," Bergetta wryly smiled. "Just who is he? So young and so powerful? Unbelievable, but it's true, haiz..."
Bergetta couldn't help but sigh at the whole ordeal that occurred.
"Anyway, he left this to you, so I won't partake, but," Bergetta said as she looked at Melkern, "If you need help, I'll send my men."
Melkern shook his head, "I'll handle it. I owe him for saving the city from disaster and killing the demon."
"Do you hate him for killing your sons?" Bergetta asked with her eyes intently looking into Melkern's eyes.
Melkern's eyes trembled at the question before he deeply sighed. "I loved them and when someone or something you love is snatched away by others forever, it hurts."
"But I am not blind or insensible," Melkern's jaw tightened as he looked down at the city, his eyes showing a resolved light. "I can't hate Mr. Aleron. Young and naive as he sounds, his power is on another realm, and his mind is broader than us, who are confined by our thoughts and limited by power."
"Most importantly to me," Melkern firmly said, "If I found out my sons' deeds, I would have killed them myself."
"That's true, I suppose," Bergetta wryly smiled. "I saw three members of my organization getting killed. I'll go and see what they've done behind my back."
Melkern floated alone while Aurspec clan members started working on his orders.
He knew both of his sons were alive and in Aleron's captive for some kind of punishment, but he had already considered them dead.
The memories of when they were kids and how he played with them flashed in his mind before two tears left his eyes.
He didn't fail to educate them, but his sons blinded and corrupted themselves by power and desires.
If he wanted to blame others, he could blame demons, he could blame himself, he could blame the environment around them, and he could blame the situation that gave birth to those thoughts.
But no. The decision to walk on the evil path for one's personal gain by inflicting suffering on innocents was a choice, and they made that choice. There was no excuse.
As such, his tears were not entirely of sadness, but anger as well.
"Clan head, what about our people?"
Melkern frowned and sternly answered, "Our people or not, check their memories from runes and register their punishment accordingly!"
"Prison will be overcrowded for a while, so we'll need to expand it."
Melker nodded, "I'll expand it."
He left after saying that, flying towards a mountain right at the city's border in the north where the prison was situated along with a D-rank Arcane Vein for prisoners to mine.
On the other hand, people all over the city were talking about the same situation and topic.
The media outlets were covering this as breaking news and everything that occurred in the sky was also captured crystal clear with mirage stones.
A few powerhouses from other Kingdoms and organizations who came here weren't expecting this, but they'd seen some familiar people from other organization and their acquaintances getting nabbed in the air and punished.
A few people who had Mirage Stones recorded the whole situation, so it was spreading like wildfire in the city, and wouldn't be long before the incident occurred would spread to other big cities and kingdoms.
Mirage Stones were magical crystals crafted using Magic Stones. One could infuse Mana in it to activate and it would then connect to one's eyes, capturing everything one saw with their
eyes in it, like a video.
"He is so young, though. Or he is old but hiding his age?"
"Doesn't really matter. I see that Robert Klek, that bastard abused workers to death and caused plenty of suffering, but nobody did anything. Now, look, he is dead."
"True."
"You remember the Yural family's kids in the academy? They bullied a poor girl from downtown brutally and spread her photos, forcing her to hang herself in the end."
"They only got light punishment at that time, yeah. And I heard she wasn't their first or last victim. Humph, it's good they got punished by that young man."
"But who is he?"
"What is his name?"
Such questions had spread throughout the city, but people had already given him a plain and
simple nickname.
The Punisher.
...
Meanwhile, Aleron and others had already arrived at the Relaxing Hill Resort and paid money for the massage and hot spring, finally beginning his relaxing and enjoyable time in the city. They were recommended to take a shower and hot spring bath before the massage, so everyone went further up the hill towards the hot spring spots.
