Undying Warlord

Chapter 549 Real Power?

The Metal Wolf whimpered in pain. All of its legs were broken and its spine was on the verge of getting torn apart, but Dilan didn't pay it any attention.

He felt that he was getting overwhelmed way too easily because he had always relied on his stats way too much.

Now he was not even able to use his abilities, his high stats, let alone his equipment with the item abilities.

But rather than being annoyed, Dilan felt his hands trembling in excitement and the adrenaline pumping through his veins.

It was getting exciting with all the blood and the dangers lurking around him.

After he sorted through the tangled thoughts in his head, it was necessary for him to get better control of his body. His current stats were stagnant, which was different from his state for the last ten thousand years.

Thus, he tested the limits of his body and the techniques he had learned ever since he entered the City of Trials.

'That should be good enough'

The Metal Wolf was killed off when he finished his experiments and the fourth round of the Trial of Power started.

24 Elemental Wolves and over a hundred Goblins emerged in the Colosseum's Arena while Dilan's average stats increased to 4.5.

This was more than enough to deliver a bright smile on his face as he released three blobs of lights at once.

One was thrown high into the air while one each was released to his right and left. Their dazzling lights were unleashed even before the fur of the Elemental wolves could change color completely.

The Shadow Wolves had yet to escape into the shadows of the arena when they were blinded due to the overpowering light.

Most monsters gave a startled scream at the sudden emergence of the bright light that took away their sight, but Dilan just smiled.

It was finally time for him to show off what he had learned from the Old jerk of a Fallen Celestial, the powers he had held back to test out the dangers of the Trial of Power!

"Playtime is over!"

He knew the position of every single Elemental Wolf and it took him no effort to create 24 highly compressed air bullets. They shot out with tremendous velocity the moment Dilan released the air bullets and he listened to the pleasant sound of two dozen bodies slumping to the ground almost simultaneously.

When he opened his eyes again, only remnants of the dazzling lights were left. They were not enough to affect Dilan, who took a closer look at the wolves around him.

He still had some Mana left within him, and he didn't hesitate to use it. Out of 24 Elemental Wolves, only three were left alive. They had instinctively protected themselves with the use of their elemental affinity.

Unfortunately, this protection prevented them from seeing their only and true opponent. The walls they had erupted all around gave Dilan the opportunity to sneak up on them and to use the black iron sword to inflict mortal injuries upon them.

His slashes were rapid and precise. There was no wasted movement, and neither did he waste any of his precious time sparing a look at the dying monsters.

He lessened their suffering by releasing a tiny wind needle that shot straight into their heart rather than watching them suffer and die from bleeding to death.

Now that the wolves were dead, there were only a bunch of Goblins that had to be taken care of. There was no evolved Goblin or a Goblin Shaman, but all of them wielded a wide range of weapons.

There were even some using poisoned darts and blowpipes. Archers and Crossbowmen were also present, giving Dilan a small headache.

He evaded the first round of long-range attacks by running around zigzaggedly before he closed the distance to the most crowded batch of opponents.

Instead of killing the long rangers, he made use of them. His eyes moved rapidly and his superior instincts were revealed as he evaded the attacks that impacted on the Goblins around him.

Dozens of Goblins wanted to take his life at the same time but instead of working together in a formation, they attacked him wildly. By evading most attacks and changing the trajectory of other attacks precisely, Dilan made sure that the Goblins killed each other rather than him.

However, even if one or two attacks impacted on him, it was not as if the poisoned darts harmed him because he possessed an immunity to poison.

As for the stone weapons wielded by the Goblins, their effect was slowly deteriorating because Dilan's stats rose drastically.

Being in possession of the iron skin trait, it was no wonder that most attacks of the Goblins didn't result in great damage. They were laughable, at best!

"That was enough training to get my reflexes back to the peak. These stats are truly a frustrating matter. After fighting True Gods for so long…what a waste to fight such weaklings!" Dilan muttered and he began to move rapidly.

A faint smile formed on his face as he felt the resistance of the Goblins' hide, flesh, and bones whenever he slashed and thrust at them, and his movements became faster.

He shrouded his body in air currents to increase his speed, and the movements of his arms to make sure that he could attack more often and with far more power.

Through that, Dilan could easily hack through the Goblins while exerting nimble movements to pass through the rows of bodies that stacked up all around him.

When it was time for him to take care of the long rangers, Dilan merely waved his hand to manifest a batch of a dozen air bullets. He released them without even taking his time to aim properly.

That was not necessary because he could see the trajectory of his air bullets by visualizing it quite precisely, the calculations are already done in his mind. Slowly, he was getting addicted to the feeling of having everything under control.

Thus, his smile turned more devilish while his clothes were soaked in the blood of the Goblins he slaughtered mercilessly.

The time when he was ready to show mercy to monsters was long since over, and the last ten thousand years seemed to have taught him a lot, especially when it came to killing or getting killed.

Everything in the Universe was a mere game of survival, where the strongest could do whatever they wanted while the weaker had to succumb or die while retaliating…and Dilan was done getting ordered to do as instructed!

"Oh? Oracle, you're back already? I hope you have good news!" Dilan exclaimed, while his expression changed drastically.

A gentle smile appeared on his face when he looked up just after he beheaded the last Goblin on the fourth floor of the Trial of Power.

The Oracle had appeared from within a golden gate and she wore a grim smile as she looked at the blood-soaked Dilan.

"You can receive the True Destruction Trait and Oricalm as long as you pass the 50th Round of the Power of Trial!" She replied coldly, a tinge of frustration to her voice, while Dilan gave her a thumbs up in return.

"Good Job. The Universe will thank you for your patronage!" He joked, just for the Oracle to mutter gloomily.

"More like the Origin will kill me…"
