Chapter 330 - Vritra's Talk And... Eleanora, Stop That!
-----
Vritra was a deadly Dracolich, born from Indra when he underwent a separation of his two halves. This was due to him having performed a ritual to enhance his power, which would take away all of his impurities right away. However, he had so many accumulated, which were all mixed with miasma that it ended forming a new and powerful entity named Vritra.
In the mortal continent where the Draconic Fathers governed, there was no Undead, however, when Vritra was born, he naturally held the power of Death, and used it to bring forth the dead in the continent.
After Vritra's changes, souls would no longer go directly into the transmigration cycle, or perhaps not as much, and they ended wandering around the area where their bodies died. Thanks to the mana and miasma of the environment, they would turn into a ghost, or possess other corpses or inanimate objects and become all sorts of undead creatures.
Mostly this brought the birth of Dracolich, ancient Dragons that had died in the continent began to awake from their eternal slumbers, their graves, and temples, where they were buried, would break open as armies of Undead Dragons would emerge being led by powerful Dracoliches, ancient dragons from eras of the past.
"Whatever was the entity or the phenomenon that sent us here into a dungeon, it seems to not discriminate, as Vritra was sent here at the end!" said Indra.
"Vritra will be most likely accompanied by his Undead. As many as there can be… He is a vicious monster. And killing Undead is tricky… Sometimes they will reanimate or reconstruct after being slain. You must properly purify their souls or… destroy them," said Vayu.
"But I suppose that's no problem to our lord, who is looking so calm," said Varus.
"Hm, I have more than one way to destroy souls. One of them is eating them, so I don't care if the enemy is Undead. Rather, I am interested in Vritra's powers or abilities. Anything worth mentioning aside from his Necromancy? Any weakness?" asked Noah.
"Vritra is weak to fire and light elements, our brother Agni was the strongest against him… Sadly, he seems to have perished before Vritra was to emerge here," sighed Varus.
"I see… Anything else?" asked Noah.
"He can wield the element of Death. Therefore, he can use Death Magic, the opposite of Life Magic," said Vayu.
"Death Magic is tricky, but its concepts and utilities usually vary. He mostly uses it to boost the power of his Undead, maintain their bodies strong and fresh for them to not fall apart, and he can gather death energy and produce a phantasmal fire of death magic that he fires using his jaws," said Indra.
"I believe he also has the power to control his own bones or those of his allies. He was able to merge his bones or attack them like sharp projectiles. And even if his bones were shattered, as long as they lasted, he would be able to reform…" said Varus.
"That's interesting. I will gladly eat those bones until none remain," said Noah.
"Ooh! He can use my fire?" wondered Iris.
"Hm, it could be said that Iris-sama fire is different than Vritra's… Yours is of course superior and more potent, as your fire comes from ability. Vritra's fire is a spell, so its growth is limited," said Vayu.
"I see. Anyways, we are going today. After lunch," said Noah.
"All of us? Can I go too?" asked Iris. She seemed eager to join the battle.
"Yes, the kids will be left in the Divine Realm, they will be taken care of by my clones. Additionally, the space in here will go slowly, so for them, it will only be minutes. Whenever they go take a nap, we'll go," said Noah.
"Been a while since we went into a Dungeon, I can't wait!" said Timassa.
"Yeah, time to slaughter!" said Adamantine.
"I wonder if the Undead will be affected by my poison… Perhaps not… Well, not like I cannot turn it into a dissolving acid…" said Arthur.
"Would my eyes work on the undead? Maybe a couple…" said Jon.
"It pains me to leave the kids though… But well, if it will only be a few minutes for them, and if they will be with your clones, I guess it is fine," said Iris.
"Yes, it is better like this. I want everyone to exercise and get some good action to not get too rusty. Additionally, as long as you keep close to me things should be fine. I will charge in front and test the waters. Even if I am torn apart into shreds, I can regenerate back, and even if I am disintegrated, I can come back in one of the clones inside my own Divine Realm, although my stats might lower temporarily. Whenever something I am not sure of you winning might emerge, you will all be called back to my divine realm. However, your souls should be strong enough to shield you using Soul-Beast Form…" said Noah, as everyone nodded in affirmation.
However, there was another surprise! William Axis rushed into the room with an excited expression.
"My lord, if you're going to central America, why don't you take the mechs I've been crafting for each member?! They are perfectly made for all of your fitting attributes! They are the culmination of my research of true magic and my combination of blood core technology, my technomancy, and true magic!" said William. Who surprised everyone, resembling a crazy homeless guy by how bad he looked. He had taken many all-nighters, it seemed.
"Muh!"
Suddenly, Eleanora saw this man as unsightly, getting angered at seeing his face, her third eye opened vertically in the middle of her forehead and flashed with pink and purple light, releasing waves of psionic energy, and grabbing William through Telekinesis!
She began to smack him into the ground…
CLASH!
"Ueggh…!"
CLASH!
"Uhggh…"
CLASH!
"Aggh… My young lady's punishment…! Is a pleasure to take it…"
CLASH!
"Eleonora, stop," sighed Noah.
"Muh…"
As the little girl stopped, Noah looked at William as the man regenerated his disfigured face.
"Fine, let's go take a look at them," said Noah.
