Chapter 65 - Soul Weapon!
-----
Ding!
[Soul Weapon detected]
[Binding Soul Weapon with user's Soul…]
[Binding…]
Ding!
[Soul Binding Successful]
[User's [Blood Soul] has been bound with the [Fierce Crimson Bone Claw (E-Rank)] [Soul Weapon]!]
[Soul Weapon Enhancement Function has been unlocked!]
[Enhance Soul Weapons with Attribute Cores or Ability Cores to increase their power]
"Oh? I did not know about this… So this is the secret behind Soul Weapons, you can enhance them further through Cores…!" said Noah.
"I also got the same message Noah-sama!" said Iris.
"It seems that we all got this System Function… How amusing," said Timassa.
"Amazing, Soul Weapons cost a fortune! Not even my family can afford one… and we got one for each!" said Arthur.
"I guess… the challenge we went through was worth it…" said Jon.
"Soul… Weapon…?" asked Adamantine.
[Fierce Crimson Bone Claw (E-Rank)] [Soul Weapon]
[Attack Power: 20]
[Durability: 20]
[Mana Capacity: 10]
[Skill(s): [Soul Weapon: - (E)], [Blood Slash: - (E)], [Self-Regeneration: - (E)], [Blood Absorption: - (E)]
"This is… the weapon's Attribute Panel… Interesting. All Skills are at E-Rank, and it even has Attack Power, Durability, and Mana Capacity… Attack Power must be the added strength it gives to me when I use it to attack, Durability must be something similar to defense or health, if it is hit by something harder, it might break… but it also has Mana Capacity. I would guess this means it can save up Mana? The Skills seem simple, although Self-Regeneration must mean the weapon itself and not me, right? Then even if it breaks, it can regenerate back after some time, most likely…" thought Noah.
Soul Weapons.
Soul Weapons were special types of highly rare weapon-types.
They had their own small souls, which they could bind with their wielders, and enhance their capabilities and power by being fed materials or cores, even ability cores could be given to them to grant the weapon a random skill, which, at higher Ranks, could use independently from its wielder.
Unlike other types of weapons, such as Magic Weapons, and even Artifacts, Soul Weapons, had an Attribute Panel, as they were part of the System by having a small soul.
Due to this, they could be upgraded through similar ways that a Hunter could upgrade itself, consuming Cores!
Of course, if you wanted to keep growing with your Soul Weapon, you would need to use twice as many resources to also boost the power of your Soul Weapon.
Most of the time, Soul Weapons were incredibly rare, and only the Hunters above A-Rank could even fathom having one, and if even.
The number of Soul Weapons sold in the market was very few per year, not being over 4!
They were so rare and pricy that only the highest-ranked hunters could even think about getting one.
And because whoever was to get them was already filthy rich, it was not much of a problem for them to feed them Cores and other materials to make them stronger…
However, for Noah and his group, this was a little dilemma amidst the happiness of such amazing weapons.
"The bad part is that we'll need to feed them equally-ranked Cores… E-Rank Cores! And we already have problems distributing them between all six of us…" said Arthur.
"Well, we can simply make them wait until we grow stronger ourselves, no need to worry about a weapon's growth at the moment," said Noah.
"I guess you're right… They are already amazing as they are!" said Iris.
"Indeed, I feel like I could now one-shot or maybe two-shot these annoying bats…" said Timassa.
"There are still a lot more bats… I can sense them…" said Jon.
"Alright, let's go hunt until morning!" said Noah with a greedy smile, as his vampiric family nodded in agreement.
The entire group darted through the caves, fighting giant bats while using their new Soul Weapons.
All of them immediately felt all the benefits of having them and began to slay these monsters without as many difficulties as before.
Alongside this, Noah made sure to train Iris, Jon, and Arthur on their flying, Jon was getting better and better, while Iris and Arthur were still rather clumsy, but were getting the hang of it a bit.
Timassa was now able to fire her bolt arrows even more precisely, blasting away enemies from the sky, even the bat's storming winds produced from their wings flapping was enough to dissipate her thunderbolts.
Jon used his eyes to drain the life out of the bats even more swiftly, while Iris used her new dagger and her other abilities to slash through the bats, managing to find a way to jump over the bats she attacked, aiming at the other ones coming near her.
Arthur mostly healed from afar and constantly released his corrosion waves, diminishing the strength of the monsters.
Adamantine, similarly to Iris, rampaged savagely around, and Noah practiced his flying and used his claws to slash through enemies.
However, in the middle of the massacre, Noah noticed something happening with his Soul Weapon…
It began to glow with crimson red light, the more he killed, the more the weapon glowed eerily!
Until finally, something within it happened!
Ding!
[Your [Blood Core] has been bound with your [Soul Weapon]!]
[Your [Soul Weapon] has unlocked the [Soul Eating: - (E)] Skill from its bind with your Blood Core!]
"Soul Eating?" wondered Noah, as he decided to immediately use the Skill with his weapon, killing a bat and then finding out that the bat's soul suddenly stopped rising upwards, being sucked by his claws as if it were a black hole.
The soul was then eaten by the weapon itself, as he sensed that the weapon's stats increased!
"What in the… this…" muttered Noah, in surprise.
How could it be possible for Noah's weapon to acquire such an amazing ability?
Noah checked the Skill his Soul Weapon acquired, growing even more intrigued and surprised!
[Soul Eating: - (E)]
The Power to eat Souls, your Soul Weapon can not only eat a Soul but can increase its stats randomly by eating one, the stronger it is, the more stats are gained.
Souls below E-Rank will not increase stats, and Souls above E-Rank cannot be consumed.
Depending on the Rank of the Weapon and the Skill, stronger souls can be consumed for greater strength.
…
"Soul Eating… So the weapon was glowing because it was slowly being bound to the Blood Core now? I see… I guess with this, I will not have to necessary waste Cores with it… However, the amount of power it gives with a single soul is almost nothing… I wish I could use such Skill for myself, but this might be enough…" thought Noah.
"S-Soul Eating?! You acquired such an ability at this stage?!" asked the Blood Progenitor in surprise.
"Not me, the Soul Weapon," said Noah.
"Even then…! Such a powerful Ability… You damn brat, you keep stealing the amazing powers I once had! Now you gave it to your stupid weapon!?" asked the Blood Progenitor.
"Well, I didn't do it myself, the weapon itself bonded with the Blood Core. And so what? All of your power is mine, Dracula, don't get all cocky now," said Noah, as he ignored the ramblings of the old and bitter Vampire and continued grinding and defeating monsters until morning, where the dungeon was completely emptied of monsters, and the party had gathered several Cores.
