Chapter 71 Eloquent Speech
Lin Feng was sent crashing to the ground, writhing in pain from the blow.
It didn't take long before his life came to an end.
Wang Jian stood over him with a triumphant smirk on his face, pleased with the outcome of the battle.
As he reached down to pick up the Nine Heavenly Lightning Sword, he felt a sudden jolt of electricity coursing through his body, causing him to recoil in surprise.
The sword glowed with ethereal light as if imbued with a sacred power that repelled Wang Jian's touch.
In a sudden burst of energy, the sword transformed into a streak of golden lightning, darting out of the lair at breakneck speed.
Wang Jian could only watch in shock as the sword vanished from sight.
'Was that the interference by the World's Essence? Intriguing...' Wang Jian ruminated with an amused smile.
While he was disappointed to have lost such a legendary weapon, he did not allow it to overshadow his next move. His attention swiftly turned to the Miracle Angel Tribe, and he began contemplating how he should use them.

As Wang Jian pondered on how to handle the Miracle Angel Tribe, a thought occurred to him. The members of the tribe were renowned for their unparalleled healing abilities. He could use them to his advantage and have them serve as his faction's exclusive healers.
With this idea in mind, he decided to spare the tribe and make them swear allegiance to him. He knew that they would be hesitant to do so, given their disdain towards him, but he knew how to convince them.
Undeterred, Wang Jian began his speech, carefully choosing his words to sway the tribe. "I understand your feelings of contempt and perhaps even hatred towards me, and I don't blame you for it," he said in a calm voice, masking the malice underneath.
The members of the Miracle Angel Tribe listened with rapt attention, curious about what Wang Jian wanted from them.
Sensing their curiosity, Wang Jian continued, "As some of you may know, I have a close relationship with your heiress, Han Xifeng. She can confirm that my intentions towards your tribe are pure."
Han Xifeng's heart sank at the mention of her name. She knew that Wang Jian was lying to the tribe to gain their trust. The truth was that he had forced himself upon her while holding her tribe hostage.
"Is he telling the truth? Are you really in an intimate relationship with him?" one of the members of the tribe asked.
Han Xifeng hesitated for a moment, but she knew that she couldn't tell the truth. If she did, the tribe would be in danger. She took a deep breath and nodded her head slowly.
"Yes, it's true," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The tribe was shocked and disappointed by her confession. They couldn't believe that their heiress would betray the Holy Son and their tribe for someone like Wang Jian.
"What about the Holy Son? Why would you betray him like that?" another member of the tribe asked.
Han Xifeng looked down at the ground, unable to meet their gaze. She felt ashamed of what she had done, but she knew that she had to keep up the act.
"I...I didn't mean to," she said, her voice trembling. "It's just...I couldn't help myself. He's...he's so charming."
Wang Jian's smile widened as he heard Han Xifeng's words. He knew that his plan was working perfectly.
"Is that why you brought him here to kill the Holy Son? I can't believe it!" another member of the tribe said, shaking their head in disbelief.
Han Xifeng couldn't bear to hear their disappointment and anger towards her, but she knew that she had to keep up the charade. She bit her lip and nodded her head in shame.
"I know, I know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen," she said, trying her best to sound sincere.
Wang Jian walked towards Han Xifeng and put his arm around her shoulder, a smirk on his face.
"It's alright, my love. They'll come around eventually. They just need some time to process everything," he said, his voice oozing with false sympathy.
Han Xifeng felt disgusted at his touch but didn't dare to resist. She knew that she was in too deep now and couldn't back out.
Wang Jian turned to them with that same smile.
"I know that this is a difficult situation for all of you. After all, I did kill someone very important to your clan. But try to understand it from my viewpoint. He was an enemy who wanted to vanquish me for quite a long time. I couldn't just wait for him to get strong enough to cut my head off. This game of cat and mouse had to end somewhere."
He added, "However, I want you to assure that you have nothing to fear. As the leader of the strongest faction in the region, I can offer you protection, wealth, and even some important positions in my council. You have a lot to gain by joining me."
The tribe members looked at each other sceptically, unsure of whether they could trust Wang Jian's words. But he continued to speak, his voice smooth and reassuring.
"I understand that you may not trust me, and I don't blame you for that," he said. "But I want you to know that I am a man of my word. If you swear your allegiance to me, I will ensure that you are treated with the respect and dignity that you deserve."
He paused, allowing his words to sink in before continuing. "Think about it. With me by your side, you will have access to resources and opportunities that you never even knew existed. You will be able to help more people and save more lives while spreading the good name of your tribe. Isn't that what you want?"
The tribe members couldn't help but feel impressed and somewhat tempted by his offer.
Slowly but surely, Wang Jian continued to integrate the benefits of joining his faction into the conversation, never pressuring or overwhelming them but instead presenting them with options and opportunities.
Eventually, some members of the Miracle Angel Tribe began to see the value in his offer.
Han Xifeng forced herself to listen to Wang Jian's smooth and convincing words. She knew better than anyone else how manipulative and wicked he truly was, but she couldn't risk speaking out against him.
"Can we take some time to discuss it among ourselves?" An elderly member of the Miracle Angel Tribe asked.
