Chapter 77 – To become dwarf apprentice.
After starting my training under the Evilin, I listen to each and every of his commands in order to learn any crafting skills as well as possible obtain class point I could possible obtained.
The first dwarf was about basics and simple craft.
After training was completed, the dwarf gave me his second test.
[Evilin Second Test]
[Create equipment using only basic and simple methods.]
The test seemed simple… But it was kind of not?
Simply put, I cannot use any special crafting methods or anything.
At first, I thought it would be easy and everything, but then I realized that it will be bit harder.
The first blade I created was simple yes, but the blade that dwarf created with simple methods was much better.
Apparently, I need to focus on the basics and maximize some of its aspects so I can understand them and then use that knowledge to improve different form of crafting later on.
Honestly, it does sounds like bullshit in some way…. But unfortunately, that weird advice that the dwarf gave me seems to be real.
So… I focuses on basics and trying to make as simple as possible, simply put mass producing blades until I got it right.
It was quiet annoying quest but I got it.
[You have completed quest: [Evilin Second Test].]
It took few tries but I finally got it.
It was bit annoying, but interesting quest as well.
And not only that, I also got small amount of blacksmith related class points again.
Damn…. I'm happy and everything, but this is also a problem.
I honestly only focused on myself and on my own evil, but you are telling if I focused on the others and completed their quest, I may have obtained some class points or stat points? How much did I missed by any chance?
Or…. Maybe I did not?
The titles are about telling the story of the user, yes?
I got a lot of titles and everything by embracing my "Story", but if I focus on the others story will I also gain something?
If so, maybe it's like branched paths I can take where each path have different benefits and outcomes?
….
Ah fuck.
I will focus on completing other people quests from now on to see if that is true or not.
But for now, dwarf and his lessons.
"Hm…. Nah. You will just focus on learning. No tests for now." – said the dwarf.
"…. Wait, really?" – asked extremely confused Phantasia.
"B-but don't I need to prove myself bit more or something?"
(GIVME YOUR QUEST DAMN YOU!)
"Well, you do have to in a way."
"But not in the terms of basic stuff."
"I saw how you craft stuff as well as saw some of your creations you made before becoming my apprentice."
"So, we will just skip right through it all and instead give you final test."
(…. Wait. So did I missed few quests because I was TOO GOOD?! Please tell me the final quest does give me rewards from previous quest at least or I will…. Em… I really can't do anything about it…. Shit.)
"Anyway, the test is simple."
"You will be given variant materials and your job is to create many different weapons, armors and other sort of equipment's."
"One of the most important part when it comes to crafting is creativity."
"This final test."
"It will also show me what kind of craftsman you are as well."
[Evilin Final Test (Modified)]
[You have shown your worth and skills as craftsman and now it's time to show your real poetical to the Evilin.]
[Evilin will give you a list of materials you are allowed to use and using those materials you will need to create various items that can different from another or maybe have similar purpose. It's all up to you as long as the items are useable.]
[Reward from this quest get upgrade according to the tests you have skipped. However, the overall reward from it all will depend only you.]
(Oh, thank god, it seems I will get the rewards from skipping the quest.)
(Still…. Not basics nor effectiveness, but now just show my real skills, huh?)
(So, no holding back?)
"Question."
"How many items should I make?"
"Few."
"Like few different armor sets."
"Few different weapons."
"And some trinkets and other stuff."
"Just show me what you go."
"…. No holding back or any big restriction?" – asked Phantasia.
"Only not some extremely expensive materials and stuff, only stuff from the list is allowed and if you want to use something that is not on the list, you will have to first talk with me." – said the dwarf while taking out a scroll and handing to the Phantasia.
Phantasia took the scroll from the man and rolled it open, inspecting what is written on it.
"…."
(Hm… There are quiet few good materials I can use on this list…. There shouldn't be any extremely big problems or anything like that.) – though Phantasia while looking at the list of materials written on the list.
"…."
"Fine. I got it."
"About the materials, do I have to use my own or I have to use workshop materials?" – asked Phantasia.
"This time you will have to use your own materials unfortunately."
"Many of my connections needed to change their clients to other crafters since they need to keep their own business active."
"I'm currently restoring those connecting."
"It shouldn't take too long, but now there are few problems here and there."
"Hm… Make sense…. There are probably some of your competitions in the mix as well who may try not let you recover." – said Phantasia.
"Yea… And that is the annoying truth." – said the dwarf who sounded exhausted.
"Anyway, there is no time limit or anything, so just take your time."
"…."
"Hm…. Fine. Then I will get going." – said Phantasia before waving to the dwarf and then leaving his room.
(The quests seems simple…. Nor there will be any major problems with getting materials myself. Even if some of the dwarf enemies would pick fight with me, I can just take off and on my mask as well as change equipment.)
(There is also ore merchant Mario who is good guy I had made connections with through my stay in the city.)
(So honestly, there won't be any problems at all with getting materials.)
(Honestly speaking…. It's just straight up simple and easy quest at the first glance…... But it's not.)
(The dwarf want to see me at my current 100%, in terms of crafting.)
(He wants to see what I got on my own and what short of things I can create without holding back.)
(Expectation or something.)
(So, I cannot fuck this up.)
(Not only that…. But the rewards from the previous quest were now put together with the final quest…. So, if I fuck up, I may end up losing a lot and I mean it.)
(Not only that, but this is [FINAL] test, right? Does that mean that there would be a huge reward at the end and depending how well I performed I could obtain something extremely rare or something?)
(This quest is not simple at all and maybe instead it's extremely important for my future growth.)
Phantasia left the workshop and headed to his own home located in the city.
"…."
"Hm…." – Phantasia picked a hammer on the table and looked at it.
(Question…. How much time? How much time I would need to spend before I can finally take the actions for real?)
(For my future plans I need learn from the blacksmith…. But there are players.)
(I know and I did predicted for the players to out level me, but considering current circumstances I cannot even start preparing my plans.)
(I tried replicating the dwarf skills and techniques while I was working with them at the [Unliving Heart], but the results weren't what I hoped for. I don't necessarily need a lot, but I do need some skills and knowledge from this guy.)
(And without enough skills and knowledge from that guy, I cannot truly start.)
"…."
"No… I cannot rush it." – though Phantasia while putting the hammer on his anvil.
(The rewards I could obtain from that quest could be extremely big…. And if they are related to blacksmithing then I have more than one reason not to take easy.)
(Depending how big of a reward I can get from this, I will improve my own power by a lot.)
(Well…. My current stats are quite high already.)

(My current stats are extremely high AND I had amassed a huge amount of class points.)
(However those uncommon rarity classes eat way more points than common rarity classes and that is bit problematic.)
(And especially the third research, [Modification/Cyborg] eats extremely lot and I mean like the average gab in class point consumption between the common and uncommon classes is nothing alike to the third research.)
(Is it because I created powerful research that I need to pay shit tons of points to raise this class, beside the fact that I need to also invest class points into the classes that are directly linked with those classes?)
(But the [Advance Blacksmith] beside class points also needs time since I need to level up the [Advance Blacksmithing] in order to have ability to level up this class.)
"…."
"Still, its not really that bad." – said Phantasia to himself after sitting down on the chair.
(I don't know about the average player strength, but I got to say that I'm strong…. But I also have some problems.)
(Chimera, plague and cyborg need modification, preparation and all other stuff.)
(My current chimeras need to level up and I also need to create some new chimeras.)
(I cannot research or develop any plagues right now with the current environment, meaning that even if do create some plague, it should not be OP in any way.)
(And the cyborg modification are still on the bottom since I only focused on making it stronger since I didn't really had time.)
"But that will soon all change." – said Phantasia while looking at his mechanical hand.
"Unliving Heart research."
"Necromancer knowledge and skills."
"The dwarf teachings."
(If I combine all of those 3 things and create a perfect link between all of them just like the dwarf and necromancer combined their knowledge and skills to create Unliving Heart, I will be able to turn myself into a REAL MONSTER!)
(But the problem is the dwarf.)
(I read though some of the notes and research regarding the Unliving Heart.)
(I can use some of that knowledge, but not the full thing.)
(Unfortunately, I need the dwarf teachings even for that. Not only to improve my own crafting skills, but also use his teachings and combine it with other stuff in order to turn myself into the monster.)
(But as soon as I learn what I needed from him and use his knowledge to fill out the gabs in my own research, then there won't be any more reason to hold back.)
(Its just matter of sweet time before the "Doctor" returns and wreak havoc once again.)
"…."
"Well, first I need to become the official dwarf apprentice first, so I guess I should get to the work already." – said Phantasia to himself before getting up and picking his hammer.
"Let's not disappoint that bastard now."
