Chapter 203 - I DON'T AGREE
Chapter 203 – I DON’T AGREE
"Our job is done. Excuse me, Mr. Lucas!" said the policeman after completing the task of securing the criminals.
Now the four criminals have been successfully handcuffed and ready to be taken to the police station. Apart from being handcuffed, their hands were also being held by another policeman who was standing behind them
"Okay, Sir. Thank you for your help. Please find the mastermind behind this crime quickly, I don't want to let that person roam free out there!" replied Ghibran hopefully.
"Of course, Sir. We will immediately investigate this crime thoroughly and will contact you soon," replied the policeman firmly.
After that the police immediately took the kidnappers into the car. Meanwhile, Lucas and the others seemed to just stare at them leaving.
Lucas immediately turned to the side where his wife was standing.
"Honey, are we going home now?"
Ellena, who was still focused on staring at the speeding police car, immediately turned her attention to her husband.
"Go home?"
Ellena stared at Lucas stunned. Did not understand the meaning of the man's words. Go home to where? What Lucas meant was to go home to them?
"Yeah, home. You don't want to go home with me?" Lucas asked again, raising an eyebrow.
"Hm… that's not it, Lucas, but…." Ellena trailed off as doubt struck again.
Ah, of course she was very worried about her fate if she came back to Lucas' house. Her mother-in-law definitely wouldn't take her presence for granted.
"But why, Elle?" Lucas asked with a surprised expression.
"But what about your mother?" Ellena looked at Lucas haunted with fear and anxiety. She was afraid that his mother-in-law would throw her out again.
Lucas smiled, then grabbed both of his wife's arms. "You take it easy, Elle. No one will dare to hurt you anymore." Lucas explained, who immediately understood the meaning of the expression on his wife's face which described a million worries.
"I'm not sure, Lucas," Ellena replied as if she thought that Veronica still hated her so much.
"Don't worry, Ellena. From now on, I'll always be by your side. I won't let anyone hurt you again, including Mommy." Lucas explained, looking seriously at his wife's face.
"But I'm scared. Your mother must still really hate me for those pictures," said Ellena, putting on a pitiful expression.
"No, honey. Mommy already knows about the fake photos. She can't hate you anymore, honey," Lucas explained with a smile.
Lucas knew very well how Ellena was feeling right now. Fear and worry. At least he could catch the look on his wife's face.
"Really, Lucas?" Ellena looked at Lucas questioningly, just wanting to make sure that what Lucas said wasn't just talk, but reality.
"Of course. How could I lie. If Mommy still hates you because of that, I'll handle it myself. Don't worry, honey. In fact, I won't even let anyone have the slightest chance to hurt you," Lucas explained at length. Still trying to persuade and convince Ellena.
"Are you willing to come home with me, Honey?" Lucas asked again as Ellena was still stunned as if she was still confused.
"Martin misses you so much, he must be happy to hear your voice again, also Mom's voice," Lucas said then with a smile. He was sure that Ellena's heart would be moved when she heard Martin's name being mentioned.
"Martin?" Elena was stunned for a moment. Remembering her brother who was missed so much of course she was very sad.
"Do you often call my sister?" asked Elena.
"He's the one who often calls me and asks how you're doing. I don't dare call him when you haven't been found." Lucas replied with a faint smile.
"Does that mean Martin knows about my leaving the house?"
"No. I didn't tell him. I always give him a reason not to worry about you and Mom as much as I can," Lucas replied.
Silence immediately dominates. Lucas seemed to deliberately give Ellena a chance to think. Even though he had tried hard to persuade his wife, it still didn't necessarily succeed in making Ellena believe it.
"All right, Lucas. I'll go home with you, but on one condition!" Lucas firmly set conditions for Lucas.
"Tell me, Honey. I'll definitely fulfill those conditions. As long as you want to come home with me," Lucas said not wanting to lose.
"I want to directly meet your mother. I will be willing to go home, after your mother allows," replied Ellena who managed to make Lucas touched.
How come? In fact, Ellena still hopes for the blessing
Lucas groaned in frustration, then looked around everywhere. It seemed that he really objected to letting his wife talk to another man, especially since he knew the man had feelings of admiration for his wife.
"Just five minutes!" Lucas said for sure.
"Ten minutes?" asked Ellena making an offer.
"Shit!" Again Lucas looked away. "Okay, ten minutes, no more!" he insisted then he glared at Richard.
"Make the best use of your time and never touch or seduce my wife while you are talking!" Lucas spoke warningly.
After a long debate, Lucas finally gave Ellena and Richard a chance to talk, even if only for a short time.
Now Ellena and Richard were standing face to face alone. Far from anywhere else, though Lucas was watching them from a distance.
Richard stared sadly at Ellena's face for a moment, but then he smiled. More like forcing a smile. How could he look fine when he found the person he loved so much with another man. Ah, looks like tonight will be the toughest night for him.
"Particia, thank you for the time that has been engraved so beautifully so far. I'm happy to know you, even I'm also happy because I can love a tough woman like you, even though my love has never been reciprocated at all," Richard whispered without taking his sad eyes off Ellena's face.
"Richard … I don't know what to do, all I know, I just need to apologize to you, also thank you," replied Ellena looking confused.
"Sorry for always bothering you. Sorry for all the wounds that have been created in your heart, I didn't mean to hurt your heart, Richard," said Ellena very softly as if feeling sad.
"It's okay, Patricia. I'm happy to know and love you. Even if we can't be together, I will still be happy for your happiness." Richard replied.
"At least I feel relieved because I have expressed my great feelings for you, before we parted. I don't know if we can still meet after this or not," said Richard.
"Thank you for your great love. Thank you for your sacrifices and also your help so far."
"Thank you for coming into my life, Patricia," Richard replied with a smile.
of the person who has clearly made her life difficult and hurt. Lucas didn't see the slightest look of hatred on his wife's face. Isn't it natural that Ellena hates Veronica who has hurt her.
"Okay, honey. We'll meet Mommy and Daddy right away. They'll be happy to see you and Mom coming home," Lucas said.
Lucas led Ellena to the car, while Briana got into David's car first.
Just as Ellena and Lucas were about to approach their car, which was parked in the courtyard of the villa, Richard suddenly stopped them in their tracks.
"Can we talk for a minute?" Richard asked with his gaze fixed on Ellena.
"Not!" Lucas insisted that he would not allow Ellena to talk to Richard.
It suddenly made Ellena turn to Lucas while putting on a pitiful expression.
"Oh shit! I'm not talking to you!" Richard cursed in annoyance.
"She's my wife. If you have anything to do with her, that means you're dealing with me too, not just her!" said Lucas staring blankly in the face.
Richard only responded with an annoyed chuckle.
"Never bother my wife again!" Lucas said again full of warning.
"Lucas let me talk to him for a second," Ellena pleaded softly.
"But, honey?" Lucas protested clearly not agreeing with Ellena's request.
"Trust me, I'm only going to talk about work," Ellena explained trying to persuade Lucas.
Meanwhile, Richard just smirked triumphantly.
"I still don't agree!" refused. Lucas was very worried about Ellena.
"Come on, Lucas… I'm just going to talk for a bit. After all, Mr. Richard is my superior. He's helped me a lot while in this city, even I can eat because of him." Ellena was still trying to persuade Lucas.
