Chapter 260: Results of the training (2)

What those spell points even are?

This was just one of the question that instantly popped in my mind when I skimmed through the system notifications. But there was one thing that I had to check first!

System, I want to receive my gift package!

"Blop!"

"Unpacking gift package!"

"Granting Santa Claus costume"

"Granting Spell Creation Interface tool"

"Granting Access to all basic elements"

"Granting Access to Mage's shop"

"Granting basic mage kit"

I thought that this gift package will answer some of my questions, but who would've thought that it would only bring even more of them?

And what the hell is this Santa Claus outfit for the love of God? Am I supposed to act like a pay2win player and make myself look stupid?

Taking a look into my system storage ring, I expected to find some kind of set that would make me look like a big-bellied, but there was only a thing like a plaster instead!

While I was insanely curious about its effects, there was no way I would test it out in a place that was obviously monitored! If it allowed me to assume different personality, dressing it up in here would instantly compromise it!

Pushing the anxiety aside, I rummaged through the pocket dimension and grabbed a small box with 'Mage Kit' label printed on top of it. Bringing it out to a real-world, I didn't wait even a single moment before unpacking it.

Inside, there were four, simple looking rings, some kind of finely cut crystal and a necklace. I have to admit, the first impression was far from nice. Only when I inspected them with my analyzing tool did I understand how insane those items were!

Starting with the rings, each one of them was capable of increasing my mana by a whooping five thousand points!

It didn't add anything to my intelligence stat, probably meaning that this mana wouldn't integrate with my own pool, but would instead act as a separate reserve. The remaining question was, would they replenish their storage automatically, or do I have to feed them mana by myself?

Not willing to waste time on such tests now, I turned my attention to the necklace, only for my jaw to drop even lower.

I can cast tier two spells now, right? After wasting an insane amount of money and two days worth of my mana, I was able to finally reach this stage.

But this necklace allowed me to pick one out of five random tier spells and cast them twice a day!

What the hell! I know this is a real-world where dying means game over, but the creator of this system really lacked any idea what a balance is!

Instantly wearing all those items, I looked at the crystal. At least this time I could smile with ease, without worrying that its properties were damn too overpowered to be true.

All in all, it was a simple magic stone that would be a great core of my future mage staff. Even if I couldn't use it right away, as soon as my mage tower would be set, I would be able to craft some nice staff of even better statistics and bonuses than my 'mage's stick'!

Keen to discover the rest of the secrets that this system imposed on me, I used my trusty tool to understand the meaning of control mage.

"Blop!"

"Control mage is a subclass of the mage that specializes in controlling the battlefield to bring the most optimal results instead of showering enemies with countless fire. There are three spells bound to this class."

"Bound - second stage spell, immobilizes an opponent for two seconds, while completely depriving him of any ability to use. Thirty seconds cooldown. Five hundred mana cost."

"Silence - second stage spell, makes the opponent unable to use or drive any kind or form of energy for five seconds. Thirty seconds cooldown, five hundred mana cost."

"Telekinesis - first stage spell, allows the user to move the objects around with just a thought. No cooldown. Mana cost depends on the force applied."

While I was initially happy with receiving a subclass If this is what a control mage is capable of doing, I can't help but wonder what an offensive mage would do!

No matter how exciting those spells sound, I doubt that they would be as effective as described. There was no way that system would allow me to completely immobilize enemies at far greater strength than me, so I had to be careful while using it!

Being unable to safely try my Santa costume and the Mage's shop being permanently added to my system tools when I looked at the interface, I decided to check out the spell crafting next.

Bonger, would you mind open an interface for spellcrafting for me?

"Will blop, partner!"Wew,

Before I was even able to comprehend how the system replied and the implications behind it, my vision blurred, before turning completely white. After a short moment of confusion, a set of nine points slowly appeared in the centre of my vision.

Arranged in a grid formation, with three columns and three rows, shifted by forty-five degrees to the side. As soon as the main screen appeared, a lot of other, smaller window showed up beside it, while still leaving a wide-open space.

Taking a look around, I noticed a different array that had only one different aspect from the main one.

There was a compy of myself standing right above the middle point!

Not sure what to do or how to even begin, I continued looking around. Most of the information made little to no sense to me, but there was one list that actually enlighted me.

Divided into two dropboxes, it contained all sorts of stuff from ice, fire, spark, vapour or mist in one of them, to repel, push, accelerate and so on in the second one. Before every word, there was a small pictogram that depicted the word.

While it was confusing at first with similar elements like fire, spark, flame or combustion, somehow I was able to quickly memorise the meaning of all the small pictures. As soon as it happened, I realised that all of them were exactly the size of the points of the grid that still took the royal spot in my vision!
