Why Did You Summon Me?

Chapter 55

Chapter 55: The Trump Card

Baiyi had to admit that he really did not expect the tailoring skill in that world to be so impressive. Not only that, he also acknowledged the fact that the Voidwalkers were indeed quite qualified when it came to judging the aesthetic value of an item.

“Absolutely beautiful!” Baiyi said honestly.

“Tee hee! Thank you Mr. Hope!” With a proud look, Mia twirled around and showed Baiyi her back. Similar to the skirt, the exposed back was shrouded in a hazy halo, making it even more enticing than exposed skin.

“Oh, wow! Look at that! Even the conservative daddy has nothing to say now! Merchant, your descendant is indeed amazing!” A Voidwalker happily commented, as if he was celebrating some victory.

“It seems like in this backward world of ours, we finally have one thing that is more advanced than Earth.”

“To be honest, I used to think that Mia-chan is cute but I did not expect her to be so attractive after she’s fully dressed up. Hmmm, I’m sure she would be harassed by men when she is older.”

Hearing that, Baiyi interjected suddenly, Don’t you all worry about that ! I’ll take good care of her! Whoever wants to come near her would have to get pass me first!

“Oi, oi, oi! Isn’t that a little too much? How is it possible for a young man to defeat you? Don’t tell me that you plan to marry Mia off to an old bald man?” A voice could be heard complaining in the distant.

What? No, of course not! Don’t you get my meaning? I mean, he would have to defeat me completely! Baiyi quickly added.

“Huh? Isn’t this even worse? Even old men is out now? Well, then I suppose, the only way out is for her to marry her ‘daddy’ then. Oh, wait a minute, this seems pretty plausible!”

WHAT THE HELL? HELLO! I’m not a hentai who is into incest okay! And Mia already have her own real father anyway! He’s a small feudal lord whose territory is not far away from Arfin city. Why is he even dragged into this conversation in the first place!

In short, Mia finally had gotten Baiyi’s approval to wear that sorcerer robe on the arena and show off her beauty. With the way she was dressed, those male students would be easy to defeat as not many of them would be able to resist such a temptation. Now all the Walkers had to do was to come up with methods that could deal with the female students.

For that reason, the first spell that Baiyi taught Mia was a simple one called the Slime Shot. He had decided to temporarily give up on teaching her formations. Instead, he was teaching her runes which were much easier to learn. After all, there was only one month left before the exam and he needed to be more efficient.

Mia had already took off the magnificent robe and changed into her usual white nightdress while she listened to Baiyi’s.

“Basically, it’s like this. This spell is not lethal but its main advantage is its fast casting speed and low energy consumption. This is a method that could effectively interfere with your opponent’s magic and force them to maintain their Defense Spell,” Baiyi explained as he drew up a random finger and at once, a white slime could be seen spewing out from his finger, leaving a disgusting white mark on the wall.

“Remember, you have to aim for your opponent’s face in order to interfere with their sight,” Baiyi added, “Alright, the runes are basically like this. You’ll have to memorize it!”

Nodding her head, Mia immediately copied down the runes that Baiyi had drawn in the air into her notebook. She did not give much thoughts over the effect of this spell. After all, she was still a naive innocent girl.

“Well, make sure you practice when you have time. The casting speed is very crucial. You must do it fast and sudden to catch your opponent off guard.” Baiyi added again, “Oh yeah, there’s one thing that you have to be careful about...”

Before he could finish his words, Mia who was curious about the spell had already tried to cast it and as a result of not casting the runes properly, the white slime was sprayed all over her face.

“Urghhhh...” Her face was completely covered by the disgusting slimy mucus. Some even dripped down to her body from the corner of her mouth and chin. Even her hair and shoulders were not spared. She looked completely pitiful but at the same time provocative.

“I was just about to tell you to be careful...” Baiyi said as he immediately helped her clean up the slime using his magic.

The rest of the night, Baiyi ceaselessly helped Mia practice and perfect the spell. Mucky white slime inevitably spewed all over the room, making the entiree bedroom looked like some sort of brothel room. It was a good thing that nobody came knocking on the door, otherwise, it would definitely make people misunderstand the obscene scene.

Fortunately, the spell was an easy one and it was not that much more difficult than the Illuminating Spell. Even with Mia’s level of innate capability, she was able to master it before her energy was completely depleted. All that was left was for her to practice and practice.

After Mia had gone to bed out of exhaustion, Baiyi began to clean the messy room while continuing his discussion with the Walkers on the type of magic that would be suitable for Mia.

“Well, since the male students will lose their combat power under the natural charm of Mia-chan, naturally there are many ways to defeat them so let us focus on how to defeat the female students first. To defeat a magical girl, she can just use Light Blast or Spell Cards or maybe even summon a tentacled creature, right?”

What sort of weird suggestion is this? With her level, can Mia even cast Light Blast or use Spell Cards now? And what’s with the last suggestion? Are you even serious? Without another word, Baiyi immediately cast a Silence Spell on that person.

“Just ignore that stupid guy!” The Scholar chimed in suddenly, “Based on the normal combat mode between two sorcerers, the biggest advantage that Mia possessed is her inexhaustible Mana. This is why we should focus on how to deplete the opponents’ energy more. I remember last time Sir First Walker has already designed two spells that are suitable for Mia, right? With those two spells as the main ones, along with other small and supporting spells, I’m sure it’s more than enough for Mia to handle the fight. Just like the harassing spell that you’ve taught Mia just now was actually quite an effective one.”

Well, it’s true that it’s quite effective but somehow I feel like it’s not that good spewing white slime onto somebody else’s face...

“Don’t you forget that this is a battle arena. And since it’s a battle arena, it’s a victory as long as the opponent drops down.” The Explorer in his opined as well, “Therefore, I’ve already created a spell and a tactic exclusively for Mia-chan...”

The spell that the Explorer created for Mia was actually something called the Catapult. During battle, the user would have to constantly release normal Mana and quietly accumulate them on one spot of the floor to form an invisible magical trap. When the opponent acidentally stepped onto it, the spell would be activated and the accumulated Mana would burst out at once, catapulting the opponent off the ring.

The principle and casting process of the spell was actually simple. The key was to actually conceal the layout of the simple magic trap and then to lure the opponent to it. There was no doubt that the trick would involve a number of psychological warfare and visual trickery.

“I’ve modified a common Level-6 spell, the Fire Blast, enhancing the visual effect that would force the opponent to move about and change his position. It complements the Catapult,” The Explorer added.

Hmmm~ I never knew that this guy can be cunning as well... As expected of the man with the nickname Sage Vagabond, you’re so quick-witted when it comes to execution and even more ingenious than those academic sorcerers.

Using the Explorer’s idea as a platform, the other Voidwalkers started to put in their ideas as well. Their ideas were not limited to just how to defeat the opponents but it was more on how to utilize the entire arena to Mia’s advantage. At once, all sorts of strange ideas popped up at the same time. There was one who suggested that Baiyi secretly use his Psychic Energy to interfere with Mia’s opponent when they were in the middle of the combat or another one who suggested Baiyi to create an uprising air current to lift up the opponent skirt or spray aphrodisiac potion onto the female opponent and there was even one bizzare suggestion where Baiyi had to dress up as Mia in that sorcerer robe and enter the battle himself instead. Listening to those absurd proposals, Baiyi could not help but feel sorry for Mia’s opponents.

If those old monsters were serious in sabotaging their opponents, those inexperienced and naive students would never be able to stand a chance...

But then again, will the academy acknowledge the victory if we use such tactics? Uncertain, Baiyi asked.

“Er... T-This... I’m not sure as well...” As a former President of the Celestial Fortress Academy, the Apprentice said embarassedly, “Well, some of your ideas are just too insidious... Forcing the opponent to surrender by passing an ordinary Magical Scroll off as a high-grade Magical Scroll is still acceptable but to launch a sneak attack after pretending to be defeated is a little too immoral. And to use an illusion tactic to transform into a naked muscular guy is even worse! I’m sure Mia-chan would not agree to this kind of tactics as well, right?”

“He does have a point there,” The Archmage supported the Apprentice’s statement, “That aside, these tricks are not that easy to execute. It would probably take more time to teach Mia these tricks compared to the normal one. That’s why, we still have to come up with a proper plan and not rely solely on these dishonest means.”

Alright, then. I’m going to pick out some of the feasible ideas from all of the suggested ideas just now, Baiyi proclaimed, I’ll also do something with those accessories of Mia’s and transform them into magical tools instead. As for some of those complicated spells, I’ll change them into scrolls and then give them to her. I think the Sorcerer’s Association would not be so free as to pay a visit to the academy to check for copyrights, would they?

Needless to say, he had already asked for Mia permision about the jewelries before she went to bed. Even though Mia was still a little bewildered, she understood the importance of having magical tools and equipments. Competitions between students usually relied more on tools rather than the strength of the student itself.

“In fact, if necessary, I hope you can also try to exert some pressure on the academy, Sir Hope.” After a long time of hesitation, the Apprentice finally gave this suggestion. “Right now, your fame is already well established so I’m sure the academy will treat you better. I know that you find such approach disdainful but I’m also sure that there will be others who will use this approach as well. We will have to ensure that Mia will enter the Golden Rose class without any other obstacle after she has taken the first place.”

Well, this proposal seems to be quite fair.
