Chapter 165 - 165 Descent
165 Descent
“I’m ready,” with those words everything started to tremble, Layton manipulated his domain so the scene outside could be clear, the various trees animals, mountains and ecosystem all started to collapse turning back to their original viscous form, the vicious liquid that then filled most of the entire space started to increase and swirl around, seeing this change Layton’s countenance did not change instead he manipulated his domain to move higher leaving the scope of Lilith’s domain but just hovering at its edge.
“You’re planning to stay with her?” Zero asked as she watched Layton’s actions,
“Yeah, I can’t leave my domain to do much anyway” Layton replied gesturing at his current spiritual form, it wasn’t that he couldn’t turn himself back to normal but that doing that would defeat the purpose of creating his other self in the first place,
“Besides, being a satellite watching the joys and sorrows of a brand new species is practice.” Layton lightly concluded.
Zero didn’t respond she wasn’t sure if Layton’s words were really the reason or that he was staying because he was worried about Lilith, but it didn’t really matter the point was that he was staying which meant she had to recalibrate her previous plan and try to include him into the equation. She just kept quiet watching the scene of Lilith’s domain growing and congealing on itself trying to form into a circular shape as she kept on calculating various parameters in her mind.
Soon enough it didn’t take long for Zero to turn towards Layton, she seemed to have come to a conclusion as she beckoned at Layton and slowly instructed, “here use this to grant me access to your domain.”
Although Zero preferred melee and assassination actions the fact was she was still a wizard and a member of one of the well-versed research teams proficient in the application and use of runes, coupled with Zero own talent in the subject her attainment in the way of runes was simply terrifying, the ease with which she stripped her spatial laws and manifested into the form of daggers were only possible because of her profound attainments.
Layton looked at the complex silver runes floating in front of him with his will he could roughly sense its functions, it was a tool for his domain to undergo a deeper spatial change, it wouldn’t leave this space and go to the main world like Lilith but instead, they would be tethered while his domain would exist in a peculiar form of existence and nonexistence within the gaps of the two spatial planes of existence, keeping in mind the structure Layton manipulated the spatial walls of the domain to portray the runes, the spatial frequency of the walls of Layton’s domain and that of Lilith’s which was constantly being reorganized synced with each other the moment the rune was portrayed.
Zero drew more runes in the air with her bizarre movements and the golden characters flew out of the domain and surrounded it attracting numerous grey veils of mist filled with energy to encapsulate Layton’s domain converting the energy into material and wrapping Layton’s domain in it forming a satellite, almost the same time as Layton’s domain turned into a silver greyish moon Lilith’s body completed the process of becoming a planet having its own gravitational pull, the spatial nature of its domain had congealed into a unique atmospheric cover that shielded the planet from excessive influence from outside forces and this naturally included Layton’s domain.
.....
Once Zero noticed the change was complete she weaved countless hand signs at speeds so fast she seemed to possess six arms and then with a clap of both her hands and the loud sound of glass breaking the newborn planet and satellite were ejected from the space.
Layton gazed at his new surroundings curiously, although he and his domain were in a peculiar state due to the runes he inscribed on them but it did not hinder his perception and vision, gazing through the piece of lunar rock that encapsulated his domain Layton gazed at his new surroundings, it was as empty and cold as space could be, in the distance few twinkling stars shone brightly ensuring the illusion of being alone in space was broken, a nearby star brought minimal light and warmth to the new occupants in the star system.
“I thought you would choose a better location,” Layton quipped with a smile, he wasn’t worried about Zero’s actions even though their current vicinity did not seem to cater to Lilith’s goal of breeding life.
“We are in a very nascent and natural secret space, although you might not have noticed yet but the time stream in this star system moves a thousand times faster than usual.” Zero replied indifferently as she stared intently at the planet below.
Natural secret realms were much like wonders of the universe rare and unique, their existence akin to miracles and were full of mystery unlike other normal secret realms which were born mostly as a result of a practitioner’s death and included the practitioner’s perception of laws, natural secret realms were valuable because their existence bred numerous unique natural resources, rare life forms, and the laws contained in it were powerful and complete. When Zero pointed out that this was a nascent secret realm Layton understood that she wanted to make use of its existence to increase the chances of life being born. The only problem was that the existence of such a secret realm couldn’t be hidden for long and soon various forces would notice its existence, when he thought of this Layton gave a wry smile as he noticed another effect of the rune he had inscribed on himself he was automatically using Lilith semi-dead state to hide his peculiarity coupled with own peculiar state he was basically undetectable under normal circumstances, the only downside was that at present his perception was being rapidly compressed and within minutes he would only be able to sense what was happening on the planet and the stretches of space the light the transformed lunar body that encapsulated his domain reached.
Zero didn’t have time to take care of Layton’s mood she simply continued her work her hands not idle as various runes were born tweaking various parameters, after a few seconds she lightly sent a signal towards Lilith’s remaining consciousness.
Lilith who was in a peculiar state slowly moved to make the planet go into a slow rotating motion, the movement coupled with the planet’s gravity attracted the countless energy and radiation floating in space ensuring the energy of the planet would be in an active high state, the atmosphere of the planet which was made up of the spatial walls of domains sieved through the energy not allowing the planet’s surface to be subject to harmful influences brought by the energy and laws of the outside world, Layton’s domain which was now the satellite of the planet was also captured by the gravity and started its slow but firm orbit around the planets as its bright silver glow served as a source of illumination for the planet’s surface.
