Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.3 Escape the Dungeon

CH.3 Escape the Dungeon

Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang

Wall of the cave is now showing large cracks. It will fall soon.

(30 seconds until the wall breaks. I recommend summoning your monsters now.)

“Sure.” I hold Uraby in my left hand and call out. “I summon Uraby.”

A card appears on the ground and from it a 3 meter tall dinosaur rises. Luckily it fits in this room. The summoning took about 3 seconds.

I hold Sparks and Frenzied Panda in my right hand, but decide not to summon panda yet. But sparks will fly as soon as that wall comes down.

(Master, are you not going to summon ‘Frenzied Panda’?)

“Not yet. I need it as a surprise. I also don’t want it to get caught in Urabys attack. The summoning is fast enough that I can do it in an emergency.”

(Understood. The wall is coming down in 9, 8, 7,)

“Okay. Let’s do this.”

Bang, Bang, Bang, CRASH

The wall falls and a tunnel 3 meters wide and tall is behind it. The tunnel is filled with little green jerks. So those are goblins. I don’t see any kobolds though. Maybe they are hiding behind the goblins. Well that doesn’t matter now.

“Go, Sparks!” I yell while holding the sparks card in my hand.

From the card in my hand, flames burst forth. As the flames reach the goblins I already begin to see the first ones falling. That was super effective. It’s actually kinda weird. The flames don’t feel hot. Is it because I am the caster or…

(Masters cards are not fire magic. They are instant damage that looks like fire. That is why it does not feel hot.)

“Yeah. The goblins are not charred at all.”

(Correct.)

As system support answers me the Sparks card in my hand vanishes, just like Pot of Greed earlier. Spells must be one time use. I should ask system about it later.

After flying down the corridor, the flames die down leaving a carpet of corpses in their wake. That’s going to be a lot of clean up. I really hope I don’t have to pull ears off of those goblins.

“How many died to sparks?”

(76 Master. I underestimated the power of ‘Sparks’.)

“Nice. How many are left in this tunnel before we reach the next room?)

(38 Master.)

“Good. Let’s see what this dino can do. Uraby move towards the tunnel!”

(Master the tunnel is quite tight for ‘Uraby’. It might not be able to fight at full strength there.)

“It’s still a dinosaur against some goblins. It will do fine.”

“ROAR” Uraby lets out a mighty roar before charging in.

Uraby begins its charge over the corpses. Like system support said, its head almost reaches the roof. But, almost doesn’t count. Like they say in Yugioh, only the last lifepoint matters. Unless your opponent runs Exodia.

I follow behind Uraby and see it running past the goblins and kobolds tearing them to pieces with its claws, stomping on the unlucky ones and crushing the survivors to the walls with its tail. I think it's even eating some of them. It’s a lot more effective than I thought.

“Sorry panda but I don’t think you are gonna get a turn.”

I trade the Frenzied Panda card in my right hand with Kagemusha of the Blue Flame that I placed in my right pocket earlier. If I have to summon another monster I think a smaller one will combo better with the dinosaur as it will be able to protect me better.

(Master, survivors ahead. 2 kobolds and 1 goblin. Goblin is heavily wounded but can still move. Kobolds have minor wounds.)

“I see. Come forth Kagemusha of the Blue Flame!”

Again a card appears on the ground and from it a tall muscular male holding a sword rises. He kneels before me and asks.

“What is my mission, my Master?”

“You can talk?”

“Yes Master. What is my mission?”

Him talking catches me off guard completely. I mean he is humanoid but still. I regain my composure quickly and answer.

“I’m getting out of this dungeon. I sent Uraby ahead and he is cleaning up most of the monsters, but there are some survivors. I want you to kill the survivors and keep me safe.”

“Yes Master.”

Kage raises up to a standing position. I kinda feel intimidated by him. Like I’m not small at 175 cm tall but this guy is more like 195 cm and full of muscle. How does he only have 800 attack? This makes no sense.

Kage makes quick work of the surviving kobolds and goblin that system warned me about earlier and the two of us move through the corridor.

Along the way to catch up with Uraby we find another four survivors. All of them are kobolds. Are kobolds just better at dodging than goblins. Well at least Kage is doing a great job.

As I think that I take a look at Urabys card that is in my left hand. It has developed large scratches on its surface. The card that used to look mint, now looks like its been played with for years.

“System, why does Urabys card look this damaged?”

(It is reflecting how much damage ‘Uraby’ has taken.)

“Really? So I guess all these goblins and kobolds are getting some hits in.”

(Most of the damage is likely self caused by ‘Uraby’. It is hitting its tail and claws on the walls and the ground. That is my estimation given the state of the survivors. I do not think that these monsters have the time to worry about how to attack, when all their focus should be on survival.)

“But you said all the monsters were super aggressive cause I broke the dungeon core.”

(Yes, but they will still want to survive. They only get mad because the dungeon is their home and it also feeds them.)

“Let’s hope Uraby doesn’t die of self inflicted damage before we get out of here.”

(I do not think that will be a problem.)

Making our way out of the dungeon, I realize how small this dungeon really is. It’s only two floors. It has 7 larger rooms that were used by the monsters as some kinda base. Total survivors of sparks and Uraby were 14. 10 kobolds and 4 goblins. Not that they survived Kagemushas sword.

I can see Uraby ahead standing by the exit.

“Finally, some sunlight.”
