Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.515 Airship Research

CH.515 Airship Research

Today I was first visiting the Ruiso Capital, and then I’ll head over to the Hero’s country.

At the capital, I was giving his Highness Prince Legio some cards. … Yeah, I know he allowed me to just call him Legio, but sometimes I just think of people by their full titles. Especially if I haven’t talked to them in a while.

I always contact Elias when I need help from the Royal family in the first place.

But yeah. Back to Legio. The Card Summoner skill orb was given to him and I promised him some cards, so I’m here to deliver. I’m also lending him a GX style duel disk. I didn’t customize it, because I honestly didn’t know what he would want, and he can pay for his duel disk, like he paid for the skill.

But the cards he’d get for free.

I had one in mind already, the dragon he rode when I took him dragon riding. That being Felgrand Dragon.

Spoiler

I like Felgrand Dragon, I do, but I almost never use him. I have so many other dragons that I prefer, so giving one away to be someone else’s ‘boss monster’ just feels like a good idea.

Other than Felgrand, I decided on handing him a few warriors. And when I was browsing the list of Warrior monsters I have, I realized I hadn’t given anyone King's Knight, Queen's Knight and Jack's Knight, so I decided on those three.

Spoiler

No, I’m not giving him Arcana Knight Joker. At least not yet. Maybe eventually, but because it requires Poly, I highly doubt I will.

Spoiler

I did also include a few Spells in the cards I gave him. Nothing special, just a few healing ones. Rain of Mercy, Soul of the Pure and Red Medicine to be specific.

Spoiler

And while I was here, I gave a similar package of healing spells to Elias. He didn’t get any for winning against me in a duel, so I decided now would be as good of a time as any to give him a few.

Then it was time for my visit to the Hero’s country.

My visit today was because I wanted to know what kind of airships would be wanted by people. And I also wanted any standard sizes they would have, just so my ships would fit into places like the docking stations that are already built in the large cities.

Getting the standard sizes for airship docks wasn’t difficult, thank god, but everything else was. Understandable, because market research is something people in this world have to use a ton of money on.

And luxury items like airships are generally custom built for the customer, so trying to ‘steal’ that information wasn’t exactly something people enjoyed.

It was a bit annoying, but I can always ask the nobles I know. Because despite the fact that I did consider it, I didn’t buy out the largest airship manufacturing company that I could find. But I did consider it. Because if I can’t have what I want, I could just throw money at the problem.

But then I’d have the problem of actually having to run the company, so I decided I wouldn’t be doing so.

Instead, I decided to return to HomeBase and write up some letters. I’ll send them off to nobles who I think will be interested in leasing or purchasing an airship from me.

Hopefully they will respond with what kinds of airships they’d like.

I did get some answers, but they weren’t exactly coherent.

The high ranked nobles like Duke Burch wanted a luxury ship that could still operate in standard docking stations.

Prime Minister Cline was interested in something that could protect the people inside from any and all monsters. Which is understandable and doable. But it should also be sufficiently comfortable for long trips. Which doesn’t really matter since my ships will use the atmospheric dampener tech from the Gradius ships, so they will be able to travel at supersonic speeds without causing sonic booms. At those speeds, you can get to anywhere on the continent in just a few hours.

Wendy was interested in a combat capable ship. I think she wanted it in case the fissures would become more common, or maybe she is just otherwise preparing for war. Could be war. Not like the people up north aren’t doing questionable stuff.

The Sage’s tower just wanted my research on the ships, which I didn’t share, because it wasn’t magical research. It is technological. And sure, it uses some magi-tech, but I don’t have to share that with the tower. Well, I might, but only after I have a fully functional ship.

But still, despite the varying answers, I think I can make a ship that can do all of that. I think.

First of all, making a ship to fit the current infrastructure was already my plan, so that isn’t an issue.

Making it durable enough to defend against any monsters, except maybe SS-rank and above, is definitely doable.

And adding weaponry that is effective against S-ranks will deal with what Wendy wanted. And if it is effective against S-ranks, it will work against most humans.

Now, as for the luxury part. Naturally I’d use high class furniture for the ships, but I felt like that might not be enough.

I checked the insides of the few ships that were docked at the Hero’s country, so I knew that they really weren’t that special. Sure they had nice couches and sitting areas, and one even had a small bedroom, but none of them were what I would call luxury.

Not really their fault, making something that is actually luxurious to fly would be very difficult, considering the magic the ships use to fly.

But I should be able to get around that issue. It has been a while since I designed my carriage. It has a spatial distortion magic applied to it that makes the inside of it larger than the outside. So by using that, I can make a standard sized airship that has a massive inside space that can then be used to make things like nice bedrooms, a full kitchen and dining area, and then the standard sitting areas. I can probably also add things like a spa or whatever the customer really wants.

So that is what I decided to start working on. A ship that fits all those criteria and can be slightly customized to fit the customers needs.

But now, pack time. Because after brain work, it is time for brain off work.

And I’ll do ten packs each of and .

Spoiler

Final Psychic Ogre isn’t bad, just wish it special summoned the Psychic instead of just adding it to the hand. Also, it is LV.5, so you wouldn’t use.

Dark Desertapir is fine for the TCG, but useless for me.

And Trident Warrior is again good in the TCG. For me, I guess he is alright, because he has decent stats.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Mystical Refpanel is interesting, because a lot of spells target people. So if someone does attack me, I can turn their spell back on them with it. Yes, I have other traps that do the same, but having options isn’t bad.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Amazoness Village isn’t bad. And since it summons ‘from the deck’, it should make me new Amazoness monsters that I can then return to my Collection with Compulse.

Wiseman's Chalice is okay, I suppose. A bit too specific, but it isn’t bad. Even if Monster Reborn is just a better version of it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

All repeats, next.

Spoiler

All repeats, next.

Spoiler

Monoceros is another one of those ‘maybe ok in the TCG’ cards. But even then, having to discard a spell can be quite costly. Sure his effect to special back a Tuner is nice, but is that enough? … probably yes, but I’m not sure.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Hey look! It’s a Thunder Unicorn. Not like I had two of those already. … I’m complaining, but I don’t mind getting more copies. Just would have liked a different ultra rare.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Scrapyard is fine. Sure GY recovery isn’t amazing (for me), but it isn’t terrible either.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Amazoness Willpower is just Call of the Haunted for Amazoness monsters.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here.

But Duelist Revolution served me well. Five higher rarity cards from ten packs is amazing.

But time for a set change.

Starstrike Blast, 10 packs.

Spoiler

Wattkiwi is super mediocre. It really should be complete battle protection, not just while Watts are attacking. I know Watts have a lot of battle based effects, but still.

Golden Gearbox is an okay boost, but just doesn’t last for long enough.

And Koa'ki Meiru Wall is great. Good stats and tributes itself to stop a spell. Just a good monster.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Wattjustment … why do you negate their effect? Watts aren’t that amazing. They don’t need that kind of downside.

Synchro Soldier I suppose has a use. I don’t like the use, but it has one. Not that I’ll ever use it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Chain Dog is a bit situational, but he is still a good boy.

And Shooting Star Dragon is amazing. Of course I already had one, because Quasar is god-tier, but I didn’t have one from this set, and most definitely didn’t have the ghost rare variant.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Exterio's Fang is a bit too specific to be good.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Leodrake's Mane is pretty nice. Making something’s attack 3000 for the turn is nice, even if their effects are negated.

And Karakuri Merchant searches Karakuri monsters, which is nice, but I already hate this archetype. And I’ve never even played with it or against it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Etesian of Two Swords is a freaking … straw. Or maybe a vacuum. It sucks so much. All that for 1000 burn damage? Really?

Next pack, please.

Spoiler

Wattcastle is a Field Spell, so I’ll have to make a Factory room for it. Those are the rules. Each Field Spell has to have its own, or at least a shared, room. Sadly it sucks, like most of the other Watt spells.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next and last pack.

Spoiler

Karakuri Soldier is new. And it is a battle recruiter for Karakuri monsters. So it is by far the best Karakuri I have, but I’ve already given up on them, so they’ll need to show me something actually good for me to give them the time of day.

All in all, Starstrike Blast really didn’t serve me nearly as well as Duelist Revolution. Only one higher rarity card, and it is a repeat by a technicality. Still loving my Shooting Star Dragon, but yeah.

The Novel will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
