Chapter 248: Stellar Trials! 1
There are treasure realms all around the galaxies, these mysterious rifts in space that appear randomly have been sought after since times immemorial.
The way they're formed is a mystery, but they generally follow the same layout.
For example, in this case, we have a true celestial-level treasure realm. There will be four levels.
The demi-celestial level; this level is simple and everybody has a chance to see a beast inside the realm and get their rewards. Then the lesser celestial level. This level is quite tricky in the way that only 1 in 2 people can get their rewards. After that is the high celestial level, where only 1 in 10 celestials have a chance to gain something, and lastly, the true celestial level.
The true celestial level is where the final boss of the treasure realm resides. There's only one boss, thus, the one who manages to finish him off gains everything.
There are generally one reward for each level so a true celestial level boss will drop 4.
The levels are there to stop unworthy opponents from clustering forward and every treasure realm is a battle of speed.
Thus, the first to reach the second level has an almost guaranteed chance of gaining a treasure; if he goes on to the next level at that same speed, surpassing everybody, he will once again gain the high celestial level reward, and after reaching the boss, he will be the victor by killing him.
This was all. simple but effective.
Normally, demi-celesitals barely manage to kill a monster inside the first level and leave, lesser celestials rarely reach the high celestial level and the haughty ones who do so are mostly killed off, if not by monsters then by the other celestials.
And in this case, the chances of a high celestial reaching the true celestial level and even gaining the reward are close to 0%… But is it?
There were countless beings stationed in the sky. Those using artifacts in the shape of boats, spaceships, and all kinds of transportation items.
There are even those standing on top of mountains, swords, carriages, and even beasts.
Through a simple scan, Draco managed to spot 23 true celestials, hundreds of high celestials, thousands of lesser celestials, and a massive amount of demis.
He wasn't surprised; the demi-celestials are like roaches in such a wide universe. Though they have difficulty leaving the 100th floor of the tower generally, it isn't impossible with a little interference, especially in the case of devouring organizations.
Most of the demi-celestials here are sect members, or trialists of organizations or even the budding juniors of alliances, no matter how old they may be.
Through his senses, Draco managed to picture the image of the solar system with the sun that was so charged with laws it became incomparably bigger than Earth's sun.
The planets were as usual huge, but they were not too technologically advanced, an attempt by the Daganaris to keep their culture alive.
But this did not stop them from creating alternative stations to hold the spaceships and whatever means of transport the tourists, mercenaries, and such used to travel.
All in all, aside from the transportation items and machines, the planets looked like what a normal solar system would look like.
Time passed slowly, and the closer the opening time was, the more rough the breaths Draco heard were.
And the second the red rift turned purple…
"OOOOOOOOO!"
Everybody rushed all at once.
Draco, however, was different, he first tried to seep in his senses but upon facing rejection, he just smiled and seeped in some phenomena.
And that's when his senses seemlessly invaded the rift. The reason Draco did this was because he and Yapa were once again stealthly standing aside, not wanting to make a big appearance yet.
When he saw the scene that unfolded before him, however, Draco was surprised.
He was wrong, there weren't just monsters to take treasures from, there were literal loot drops everywhere, shining with stellar and colorful lusters. One just had to snatch them before somebody else does.
This put a smile on Draco's face. There was something that dungeons had, he wondered if treasure realms also did.
"Hey, Zero. Can I conquer this realm?" he asked.
"Yes, Host. Everything is conquerable in this world." She replied, not appearing in front of him.
"Very well. It seems like I will have to take care of some pests so I don't lose out a lot." Though Draco generally didn't care about artifacts or whatnot, now that he had a whole realm in front of him, his greed had surfaced.
"First of all…" Draco and Yapa vanished from their place, and the second they did so… the realm portal turned black and disappeared instantly.
This event or catastrophe that happened had never occurred before and this prompted many of the lurkers who were here to watch what happens to go bonkers.
The information had spread in no time and the area that had no powerhouse stronger than a true celestial… started slowly but surely receiving attention from those greater.
They didn't appear directly per se, however, what they could do was project themselves over.
"What happened here?" A voice echoed out, the ones who were asked too scared by the voice to actually answer.
"W- we don't, it just suddenly disappeared, we can't even enter anymore." From those who were here to participate, there were the unfortunate, or rather, fortunate ones who didn't manage to enter before the gate was closed.
One of these who was brave enough replied to the voice satisfying the curiosity of the unknown number of greater celestials or stronger ones present here.
What acted as even more of a shock for the individuals here was the body of an unlucky lesser celestial who couldn't enter before the gate closed and his body was sliced in half.
Though they've seen their fair share of dead bodies… this was new.
But one thing remained in everybody's mind.
Just… what was happening?
