Chapter 34
C34 – Golden Wolf Eagle
“Damn it, where did that creature go?”
Shortly after, a group of riders appeared on the scene, led by a man in a white robe. With piercing eyes and sharp eyebrows, he exuded a formidable presence, clearly a man of exceptional strength.
“Mr. Di, that creature definitely headed this way. We need to pursue it quickly and ensure it doesn’t survive. If the Celestial Eagle Gang catches wind of this, we’ll be in a heap of trouble.”
“Indeed, Mr. Di. Our scouts report that the Celestial Eagle Gang is already on to us and will be here shortly. We must eliminate that creature without delay. If we fail and it advances to Rank Three, the Celestial Eagle Gang will gain another Spirit Sea Stage Expert, significantly bolstering their power. That would be a severe blow to our Yao family.”
The young man in the white robe was Yao Di, the Yao family’s most brilliant prodigy and one of the Four Great Young Masters of Azure Sun City.
“Let’s move out.”
At Yao Di’s command, the group gave chase and plunged into the depths of the forest.
In a clearing, Looh Jiang and Qin Xi were racing forward, glancing behind them occasionally.
“That maniac didn’t follow us, did he?”
“I don’t think so. He seemed to be after that object that fell from the sky.”
“Good, as long as he’s not on our tail.”
“By the way, what was that thing that fell from the sky? I only caught a glimpse of golden feathers and not much else.”
“I couldn’t get a clear look either, but it appeared to be a Golden Wolf Eagle.”
“Golden Wolf Eagle, that’s right, it was a Golden Wolf Eagle.”
“Hold on, there’s someone approaching.”
Suddenly, they heard the sounds of an approaching commotion. A large group was heading their way. Looh Jiang and Qin Xi looked up to see a troop of riders speeding towards them.
“Qin Xi, these guys look like they’re from the Celestial Eagle Gang.”
The Celestial Eagle Gang was one of the four major forces in Azure Sun City, commanding immense respect and possessing inscrutable strength. No one dared to show them disrespect.
The group arrived swiftly. The leader, clad in a blood-red robe with an eagle emblem on his chest, was Bao Guangsha. He was as renowned as Yao Di, both being among the Four Great Young Masters of Azure Sun City.
“Have you seen a male eagle fly by here?” Bao Guangsha approached and glanced at the two men before asking directly.
“A male eagle?”
The two exchanged a look. They had previously witnessed a Golden Wolf Eagle descending from the sky. Could it be what they were searching for?
“Young Master Bao, are you in search of a massive Golden Wolf Eagle with golden feathers?” Looh Jiang inquired.
“Yes, have you seen it?”
They both nodded. “Indeed.”
“Quickly, where did the Golden Wolf Eagle go?”
Qin Xi turned and pointed deep into the forest, “Young Master Bao, we saw the Golden Wolf Eagle head in that direction.”
“Over there?”
Bao Guangsha looked up, his brow furrowed, then commanded, “In that case, you two will lead the way. If I don’t see the Golden Wolf Eagle, you’re well aware of the consequences.”
The two shuddered, their spines chilling with fear. They had heard of Young Master Bao’s ferocity and ruthlessness; countless had perished at his hand. It was clear that if he didn’t find the Golden Wolf Eagle, their fate would be dire.
Yet they dared not defy Bao Guangsha’s orders, for the alternative would be an even grimmer fate.
“What’s the matter, you’re unwilling?”
Bao Guangsha glared at them, and they quaked with fear, bowing their heads, unable to meet his gaze.
“Young Master Bao, we will lead the way,” they said, nodding vigorously, their hearts pounding with terror.
“Then let’s move quickly.”
Bao Guangsha’s tone sharpened. The Golden Wolf Eagle was a prized creature nurtured by the Celestial Eagle Gang, on the verge of advancing to Rank Three. Once it achieved this breakthrough, it would be a true Rank Three Demonic Beast, elevating the Celestial Eagle Gang with an additional Spirit Sea Stage Expert. They would then become the preeminent power in Azure Sun City, unmatched by any.
“Yes, but Young Master Bao, we must hurry. There’s a madman out there trying to capture and kill the Golden Wolf Eagle.”
“What madman?”
Looh Jiang spoke with a grave tone, “We’re not too familiar with that madman. All we know is that he’s intent on hunting Demonic Beasts. Since yesterday afternoon, an untold number of Demonic Beasts have perished at his hands. Young Master Bao, if you’re too late, you might miss your chance to encounter the Golden Wolf Eagle.”
“He’s got some nerve, targeting my Golden Wolf Eagle.”
Bao Guangsha was livid. The Golden Wolf Eagle was the Celestial Eagle Gang’s most treasured possession, its value beyond measure. They held it in the highest regard, considering it the Divine Beast that protected their gang.
“Pick up the pace. I’m eager to see who has the audacity to lay a finger on the Divine Beast that guards our Celestial Eagle Gang.”
“Understood.”
“How peculiar. Where has it gone? I clearly saw it heading this way, but now it’s vanished?”
Deep in the jungle, Zhuang Xing followed the trail of the large creature that had descended from the heavens, only to find it had disappeared.
“I’ll search the area. That beast has to be somewhere.”
Suddenly, Zhuang Xing spotted a trail of fresh blood on the ground nearby, clearly just left behind. If his hunch was correct, the creature was gravely injured, and these were the bloodstains it had left.
“There it is.”
Following the bloodstains, Zhuang Xing was thrilled to find a golden creature lying amidst the shrubbery. Its massive body was covered in golden feathers, resembling an eagle.
“Could this be the Golden Wolf Eagle?”
Upon closer inspection, Zhuang Xing recognized it indeed as a Golden Wolf Eagle. However, he quickly noticed that the creature was in bad shape, lying on the ground, completely still, as if it were dead.
“It couldn’t really be dead, could it?”
Zhuang Xing hurried over and crouched down, patting the creature’s body, but it remained unresponsive. He noticed a long, severe wound on its body, and aside from this potentially fatal injury, there were numerous other scars that appeared to be inflicted by someone.
He surmised that someone had likely been attempting to capture this Golden Wolf Eagle. If he was right, those hunters would soon be on their way.
“People are approaching.”
Right on cue, a commotion arose from the outskirts, signaling the arrival of a group of individuals.
“Mr. Di, there’s a trail of blood here. The creature is just ahead.”
“We should pursue it quickly.”
Zhuang Xing turned around, his brow furrowed. The team was sizable, with over ten members, all of whom possessed exceptional abilities.
“Who might you be?”
