MMORPG: Crowd Control

Chapter 70 Fanning The Flame

Kate was bewildered as she didn't expect Lei Zhen would have something more planned in his mind.

"What else am I supposed to do?" She asked nervously. The smirk of Lei Zhen's face was making her slightly uncomfortable.

It was like he had turned into a conniving person, almost as if he was a stranger to her.

"Don't you want to make Prince Leon and Prince Carter start an all out brawl?" Lei Zhen asked, grinning about the outcome that he imagined in his mind.

"What other devious plan did you have in mind?" Kate asked curiosity. There was a surge of rising feeling coming from her that she wanted to see what he planned to do.

"Want to play a damsel in distress role?" Lei Zhen asked, and proceeded to explain his wicked plan.

His plan was to have Kate pretend to be heavily injured by the imperial guards sent by Prince Leon, and this information shall spread to Prince Carter's ear.

At that point, Prince Carter would gain a valid reason to start an all-out wall against Prince Leon, using Princess Kate, who was beloved by the citizens as an excuse.

And when the citizens learn of the news that Prince Leon was wicked enough to target the caring Princess Kate, moral and public support would all go to Prince Carter, essentially giving him a step to the throne.

"So you want me to assist Prince Carter to the throne instead?" Kate gasped in surprise. She thought Lei Zhen's goal was to save her father and prevent the two princes from getting the throne.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen chuckled and shook his head. "When did I say I'm going to support Prince Carter?"

"But that plan of yours is going to boost Prince Carter's popularity and support." She enquired, feeling a bit lost in the conversation.

"Heh, but what if at that time, when Prince Carter is at his height, you suddenly appear and say Prince Carter was the one that injured and imprisoned you. And that Prince Carter was the one that pushed all the blame to Prince Leon, with the basis that he was an honorable man, so he used that as an advantage to deceive the public." Lei Zhen smirked.

Even though there was no rain or thunderbolt in their location, Kate felt like she had been shocked numerous times from lightning.

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ Such a devious yet genius plan from Lei Zhen astonished her thoroughly.

This was the same as killing two birds with one stone.

If Lei Zhen's plan was to succeed, then both Prince Carter and Prince Leon would be deemed unworthy and shall be exiled.

After all, they would lose all public support and morale.

Hence, even if one of them won the throne, they can't even warm their butt long enough before another rebellion or coup arises to overthrow them.

"Lei Zhen, do you want to become my chancellor?" Kate's expression turned solemn as she asked him sincerely.

"With your assistance, I believe our Yors Castle's internal and external crisis can be saved. And maybe this is the real reason why my instructor entrusted you with the Ferold's Ring." She added.

Kate believed that Lei Zhen would agree to her request considering how he went through this much trouble to help her.

However, she was disappointed when Lei Zhen shook his head.

"Sorry, I'm merely assisting you right now because I have a mission to meet the king and hand over the Ferold's Ring." He rejected it in a respectful manner.

If it weren't for the two crazy elder brothers of Kate that wanted to take the throne for themselves at this timing and blockade the entrance. Then Lei Zhen wouldn't have even bothered to intervene.

Some might call him heartless for rejecting it, but others might call it a clever decision that does not act on impulse.

How long did he know Kate for?

Other than her self-proclaimed Robert Knightman was her personal instructor and that she was the only princess of the king, Francis Norton, Lei Zhen had basically next to zero information regarding her.

To be a chancellor was not something to joke around, and even though he's playing in a video game. This video game was far too realistic to be treated casually and without regard to his action.

Although disappointed by Lei Zhen's answer, Kate didn't push the matter and nodded her head.

"Alright then, I'll arrange the first two plans in accordance with your instruction." Kate quickly brooded over her rejection and called upon four imperial guards.

Two imperial guards would be assigned as spy and return to Prince Leon's side whereas the other two imperial guards would be a messenger and head to Prince Carter's camp.

After ordering the imperial guards, Kate returned to Lei Zhen's side for further instruction.

"Now when do I pretend to be seriously injured?" She asked.

"When the flame has been fanned enough." Lei Zhen calmly replied. Right now, they are just fanning the flame and time is not ripe yet.

To perfect this plan, timing is the most crucial and Lei Zhen was more worried about another unknown factor.

And that was the appearance of another player like him.

Magnolia is a world-wide game and for such a large commotion to happened between the two princes, Lei Zhen was sure a lot of players had gotten wind of this news.

'I need to have more players willing to side with Princess Kate. Otherwise, if other strong players went to join the faction of Prince Leon or Prince Carter, the difficulty would increase further.' Lei Zhen was not arrogant enough to believe him and his plan alone could control the situation.

Hence, there was another motive in his plan to have four imperial guards to move as pawns. Firstly, they will do as assigned and the other part would be to see if there are tracks of players around.

"I'm going to take a rest here now, so don't disturb me unless it's something urgent." Lei Zhen said and went to a tent that the imperial guards had set up.

He was going to log out to see the current Magnolia news and it was about time for him to take his shift at work.
