Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 447: True reason

Chapter 447: True reason

After hearing Shane’s last question, the Creator had turned silent for a moment.

Fortunately, he didn’t seem angry, and while the Creator seemed to ponder about the answer, Shane took a look at something else.

It was only a short glance, but his body had begun to ache once again.

Every cell inside his body seemed to become stronger, and shockingly enough, Shane noticed that his mana pool had enlarged by three times.

Seeing the increase in size, he couldn’t help but feel that a perfect foundation was simply…perfect.

Because of his mana pool’s size enlargement, Shane had taken a look at the size of his soul world, only for his eyes to widen in shock.

‘300 kilometers in diameter…is that real?’

If the information was not wrong, his soul world’s size had enlarged sixfold. This couldn’t be true, and Shane felt like both his system, and Talia’s information was completely wrong.

However, before he could calm down, let alone regain his senses, he heard the Creator’s answer to his question.

“You are right. I’m not a Saint, or anything close to that. Because of the existence of the System and the Primordial Dimensions, countless beings had met their deaths in pursuit of strength and power.

At the same time, there were beings that died while trying to complete a mission given by the system, which is everything but fair, isn’t it?

However, on the other hand, I never force anyone to enter the Dimension portals, to accept the system, or to fight against each other to procure more resources within the Primordial dimensions!

With that being said, I don’t feel guilty at all!

Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean I don’t gain anything from my creations.

I don’t know if you’ve already come across other races that don’t use the system or Primordial dimensions.

If you have, you should know that they’re deemed to be stronger than those races which use the system. This is not necessarily the truth, but if we were to compare two beings with the exact same cultivation base, the one that is not using the system should be stronger.

Now, the question is why should this be the case, right?

To put it simply, I use every single being inside the Primordial dimensions just like you use your soulbonds.

However, while you receive an amplification from your soulbonds’ strength which doesn’t decrease their strength, this is different.

For example, I drain around 0.01% of your entire strength, simply because you’ve activated the system!

Likewise, I receive strength from every other being that uses the system. After your strength has been drained, the system, which is connected to me, will enhance my strength by the share I received from you, and the other beings!

Shane’s eyes widened at the explanations, and despite thinking that he understood everything, somehow he couldn’t help but feel shocked.

‘Maybe he is evil? Draining strength from a few soulbonds is already extremely powerful, but draining 0.1% of the energy and strength of every single being with a system…that is insanity!!’

However, what confused Shane, even more, was the fact that the Creator seemed to know more about soulbonds than he did.

This may not be something uncommon for a being that is exceedingly powerful, but Shane felt weird which caused him to ask what was on his mind.

“Do you also have soulbonds, Sir? The flame, or dragon, or whatever it was, could that have been a soulbond too?”

When Shane finished asking his question, he could see a faint smile on the Creator’s face, only to see him nodding his head.

This confused Shane even more, as he thought that it was his bloodline’s ability, and not something others could simply obtain…

‘When I asked him whether he is a human or not, he said that it is difficult to answer…’ Shane was bewildered, and he took a few seconds before deciding to discard his earlier thought as he said,

“I don’t know if this question is rude or not, but I cannot understand why you’re draining the energy of other beings, just to strengthen yourself. Somehow, it seems like you are not a bad person, and that you have your reasons to do all of this, but stealing the strength of others conveys the exact opposite…”

Even if this question could put him into a tricky situation, Shane felt like he was doing the right thing by staying honest and straightforward because this was who he was!

The Creator simply looked at him without giving anything away.

“You are still young, and you don’t understand the infinite size of the universe.

In the end, only a minuscule part of the existing races of the universe were able to enter the dimension portal.

While it’s true that I drained the energy of others, the fact that I had to use power to maintain the Primordial dimensions and system cannot be neglected.

The necessary energy required to empower both is immense, but as you might be able to conclude, I was able to keep them up and running for a very long time.

However, that doesn’t mean that the fraction of energy provided by the beings was enough.

Other means had been required to achieve this state, and I hoped that I would be able to regain enough strength to continue keeping the system active.

Unfortunately, the growth of the civilisations and the strength I hoped to receive was not fast enough, and there are other things that drain me of my power, which is now the reason for me to be forced to shut off both the system and Primordial dimensions.

In the end, my plan turned out to be worse than I could have hoped for, which was mostly caused by the interference of other beings that happened too quickly.

However, it worked partially, which is thanks to you and the Dark Ice Elf halfling, Megane!”

At that moment, Shane noticed that the Creator had explained to him what the system and Primordial dimensions were used for but not the exact reason for creating them.

‘If his reasoning was the drained power, it would be weird to continue supplying energy if he is only making a loss out of the exchange…so, what am I missing?’

Because of that thought in addition to the Creator’s words, Shane’s brain felt as if it had been set on fire as his thoughts began to finally make sense.

“So…you mean that there are other beings, which may be stronger than you, that interfered in your business, and that I and Megane achieved something you’ve planned?

With that being said, your plan was to create perfect beings…but for what reason? I doubt that you want to experiment with us, or kill us because nurturing us with great efforts only to kill us wouldn’t bring you any benefits!”

At that moment the Creator smiled lightly, and if Shane were to know that the Creator was simply recalling his past and the memories of events and people that had lived a long time ago, he would be even more confused than he already was.

Shaking his head, the Creator’s smile vanished, replaced by his emotionless face as he said,

“Megane and you are important for something I had planned a long time ago, but I didn’t expect that it would take so long for the first being with a perfect foundation to appear, let alone for the other incidents to happen.

To put it simply, I wanted to create beings with the necessary talent to be nurtured into some sort of super soldiers that are strong enough to face the chaos that will descend onto the entire universe!”
