Chapter 87: Senses Unleashed
"I don't think we need to go in there, right?" Roken put down his shield on the ground and put his chin on top, watching Almond butchering the Pin-Furred Wolves.
"He's certainly having fun, so let's just observe," Julian said, his eyes intent on Almond. He was analyzing Almond as best as he could to learn.
As a swordsman, he was aware of foundations. His foundation of properly slashing the sword was established after he swung his sword over a hundred thousand times.
But Almond was appearing way past his level in his eyes.
'I know the cold truth…that talent exists,' Julian clenched his fist. 'Someone just progresses way faster in some things. But I don't believe that those without talent cannot reach their level.'
"I will reach his level."
Something was getting ablaze. It was on the verge of lighting up an inferno. But whether Julian would be able to light it up…only the future would tell.
…
"That was fun!" Almond breathed out as he put his sword back into the sheath. The whole room was sparkling with magic crystals scattered on the floor.
He stored all the Spirits. He kept 10 Pin-Furred Spirits in his pocket while throwing the rest of them into Spirit Forge Factory to be made into random items.
"Almond, what's your status? You said you would show us, right?" Roken spoke with puppy eyes as he walked towards Almond.
"You only need some fur on you, then you would look exactly like a bear," Almond laughed seeing Roken's face.
[Challenge complete.]
[Congratulations. You have been awarded a Strength Fruit.]
"Strength Fruit? Not bad," Julian remarked, glancing at the vibrant notification suspended in the air.
Almond inspected the fruit and laughed as he threw the fruit towards Julian.
"Take it."
"What?" Julian was dumbfounded as he caught the fruit.
"It just increases Strength stat by two points. It's meh," Almond turned around and stretched his arms. "Anyway, let's continue."
He used his Mana, controlling it to attract the magic crystals as they flew toward him and he put them into his storage pouch.
"Bro, you serious?" Roken shouted as he followed behind. "The chance for a Stat boosting item as a reward to appear in Dungeon Challenges is freaking 5% or less."
"That's sad," Almond sighed as he waved his hand. "Anyway, here's the reason why I don't need it."
Almond shared his Spirit Devour skill's detail and his status with them.
Julian and Roken saw the skill's details first. As they read it, their footsteps stopped, and their eyes went wide, practically going off-screen.
"What the fuck?"
"SS-rank skill…"
Then they saw his status and realized why Almond's stats were so high.
Almond arrived in front of the door and put his palm over it, "Hurry up, I am opening this door."
*Boom!*
"Wait, don't you want to recover?" Julian snapped out and dashed ahead. 'He extensively used Mana and stamina in that intense battle for three minutes to kill those fifty wolves. He should be exhausted.'
"Don't worry, I recover fast."
"Bro, what is the rank of your c-" Roken's mouth suddenly shut, and footsteps stopped as he saw the scenery past the door that Almond blasted open.
[You have entered the second section, barracks of the Orc Bandit Warriors.]
Almond thought it would be a room, but the scenery in front of him was as big as two and a half football grounds with wooden walls and tents, along with over a hundred Bandit Orc Warriors or more…as he couldn't see everything from there.
"We are fucked," Roken muttered.
[Orc Bandit Warrior]
-Rank: Gold.
-Level: 24.
Their levels ranged from 10 to 30.
Even Julian's face formed sweat beads. He quickly finished eating the fruit before saying, "Almond, did you check the density value of the dungeon? That's an important indication to determine if a dungeon has sections with a huge number of monsters congested into one relatively smaller place, such as this room and that area over there."
As he finished speaking, a bead of sweat fell off his face. "How high is the dungeon's density value, Almond?"
"Density value? Yeah, I think it was around 1380," Almond said as he saw the group of Orc Warriors several meters away turning to him.
Meanwhile, hearing the number, Julian and Roken trembled.
"Almond, get back fast!" Julian shouted as he snapped out quickly.
There was a membrane at the door, indicating that monsters inside couldn't see them unless they entered the area, but Almond was already inside while Julian and Roken were still in the first section.
One of the orcs suddenly roared, initiating the battle. As a result, the membrane turned red.
Those inside wouldn't be able to exit now.
"We should go," Roken dashed inside with a determined expression, jumping and landing right in front of Almond with his shield ready to block.
"Bro, summon your monsters!"
Julian also blitzed inside like lightning, swinging his broad sword as he consumed 15% of Mana to use one of his strongest skills as a glowering wind slash projectile ten meters long shot forward.
The Orc Bandit Warriors couldn't do anything on time as the slash cut the whole group in half.
"Nice," Almond chuckled as he stood in a sword stance with his sword raised to his eye level and pointing at another group rushing at them. A wide grin stretched on his face as he said, "But don't worry. The numbers don't matter when you can dance all over them."
"Unleash your senses, boys."
*Swoosh!*
Almond vanished from his post, using only Physical Enchantment and nothing else.
Only exerting his physical body appropriately, he jumped and turned upside down while in the air, his position calculated.
'Yes, I should try this interesting method.'
Almond's sword point released a neon glowing blue thread of Mana, well compressed and condensed, as he quickly wrapped it once around the five Orc Warriors with his Mana control.
*Chriii!*
'I should name this Sword Thread.'
Almond's momentum remained fast as his jump continued while the five Orc Warriors were sliced. He landed in the middle of another group of Orcs before crouching low and swinging his sword as a beautiful wavy trail of blue briefly appeared around him.
*Slash!*
In the next second, all five orcs were sliced without any resistance.
Almond was moving way faster than their perception could follow. This was not just fast in terms of speed. He was double of their speed and triple with Physical Enchantment according to stat difference.
But the problem was Almond's unconventional way of moving around and swinging his sword.
More and more Orcs were rushing at Almond, but they couldn't predict or follow his way of attacks and moving. It was too much random for them to hit Almond.
Those that tried to attack either hit their own, met the air, or, in rare cases, met with a swift retaliation from Almond.
Julia and Roken faced a relatively lower number of Orc Bandits since most of them were aggroed by Almond.
Roken gulped and quietly took out a cam-recorder as he stuck it on his shoulder. "I gotta capture this, Julian. Like, look at that fucking monster."
"Watch out!" Julian kicked the injured Orc's club that was about to hit Roken from behind.
"Finish off your enemies properly first, idiot."
But even as Julian said that, his eyes couldn't help but go over to Almond. 'He is not using Focus Field…or any protection measure against such a huge number of monsters….what the hell?!'
"Roar!"
Julian's eyes flashed a hint of irritation as he turned to the Orc. "Roken, you just focus on buffing me with your skill and recording, and you better record him properly! I'll handle the Orcs coming our way."
"Roger!" Roken grinned.
