Chapter 294 - Who?
For the sake of creating better reputation and accomplishing better results none of the second gen would shy away from influencing what kind of team they would end up with.
In the end it all boiled down to whose influence was the greatest this year.
And Klautz knew whose influence was the most this year.
"It will be Benton. I can't refute the fact that I had made quite the mess back at the showdown."
After Klautz victory against Colt, Klautz had become an unshakable presence. All of the second gens knew that having Klautz's strength to aid them would be like having a second half to themselves!
After all, the other newbies were just ants they would have to train but Klutz could actually make some major contribution leading to major growth.
More success would lead to a better reputation and a good reputation would lead to the best followers!
Who would be foolish enough to leave such a chance? Not to mention that Klautz had his own group of fan boys and fan giirls ever since his victory who will be willing to follow after him.
Such an admiration was foolish in the eyes of the hell borns for they knew that the newbies had not yet seen the true face of hell and also not seen the true power houses.
But who could they kid with? If such an admiration could work in their favor they would very much welcome it open heartedly. The only situation when it would be a problem would be when Klautz would be in their opposition's side. They couldn't just let go of this chance.
They would do everything in their power to try to get him on their side.
"But it's clear who would be winning the bet."
Klautz shrugged.
It was then…
"Klautz! ah… no title? That's unusual," one of the guards called out to him.
Even in the medieval times it was the peasants who lacked a family name. What an irony it was. Klautz life had been worse than that of a peasant and his name portrayed it.
The guard himself was in confusion tilting his head to the side. But not the audience. In just a day the word 'Klautz' had become a buzz word for gossip.
Klautz walked to the guard as he waited for the verdict which he already knew. Even if there was a little bit of chance that Benton might fail in all of this due his absence from the showdown event, even then the one picking him up would be any less competent, albeit he would be a bit weak as compared to Klautz.
'It would really be troublesome, if something like that were to happen. Having Benton would be the best. As long as Benton doesn't bother with my business, there would be no friction amongst us.'
It was true that having Klautz in the team would be best for most of the newbies. But would that be the case if they were to learn that they were actually weaker than their member? Would they be able to swallow the feelings of complexity and do what is best for the team? Or would they drive the team to oblivion?
One must note that most of the ones present here were quite the spoon fed unlike Benton and Colt, thus Klautz didn't have much expectations from them. They were like the typical young masters as one might expect. But Klautz would have to deal with them if such a thing were to happen.
'That would be bothersome.'
"Yes?" Klautz affirmed his presence to the guard.
For most people it might seem like a school attendance but unfortunately for Klautz he had no memories of the same. He didn't even know if such a thing exists.
It was but a rumor that was passed around in the human society of hell. But it was so that the superstitious ones believed that Satan finds a place in the heart of the men once they wield the Satan's system. As time went by little by little it corrodes the human soul driving the wielder to insanity.
It was such a rumor that was even more fortified by the unusual symptoms seen amongst the human. It was like the more time they spent in hell the more they lost a part of themselves as earthlings. After some time no matter how good one's memory was, their memory of earth was forever gone..
It seemed like Klautz wasn't the only one who had lost all of his memories of his origin. Every earthling who lived in hell seemed to slowly lose all of their memories that they had once bored of earth.
This was the very reason why the newbies were a big thing. They were easy to make most of the earthlings living in hell sentimental for they rejuvenated those old memories of earth by sharing their own experiences that were yet to be corroded.
With an influx of newbies every year such a cycle of loss and retrieval continued. But it was quite an anomaly that the memories that everyone had made in the world of hell had never corroded no matter how much time passed.
It was like Satan himself didn't want the humans to forget of their traumas.
That was the world of hell. It made you remember only the pain and forget about all the pleasures that you had once experienced. It made you remember only hell while forget about the heaven that the humans had left behind.
"You are?"
"Klautz…"
The guard nodded,
"You are assigned to Ms. Yukiho."
"Yuki… who?"
"You would know soon. For now you should just stand under her banner."
Klautz sighed as he went in the direction where the man pointed.
"Who is this Yukiho? I haven't even heard that family name before. And what was Benton doing? I am seriously disappointed in him. Is the current him useless after all?"
