Chapter 234 - YOU BETTER STAY AWAY FROM US...
PRECAP
Pulling the dress down, he chained his zipper up. She licked her lips as she felt them dry and before he could say anything, she stormed out of the empty storage room in the flash of the second. He followed her and tried to call her back.
"Madison??"
But she kept walking away. By now, even he was annoyed and irritated by her behaviour....the way she was treating him.
Instead of going after her, he decided to give her some time and clear her head. She was of course not in the right state of her mind at this point...or even before and during their act of shame.
________________________________________________
His trip to San Francisco had been a top-secret one. He had spent a near million for the security to keep the paparazzi away from the entire county where he was going to be.
If one civilian...just one came to leak it that he was here, all the money, all the hard work of his team would be flushed down the toilet in a flash of the second.
"I m Kian Randall, CEO of the Randall International Corp.!"
And the long silence that followed after his confession, it was eerie and for a moment, he felt like the old woman was not even believing him by then too.
"So does it mean...Tinsley is Tinsley Rutherford in real??...the heiress whose parents left her nothing...and you marrying her made your aunt, Valeria Wilson to disown you from the Wilson Oil company??"
Jessica implored and Kian just gave a short nod to all her questions. It was true. She just narrated their history together in a short note.
"So basically I have been helping out an heiress all this along??"
Jessica questioned herself. Never in her life had she thought of a thing as such that that would happen to her.
Heiress...were no more less than what or how a princess was raised. Although it was a modern society, these titles no longer held so much importance and value in them...
...but Jessica was an old woman, an old lady who in her times had seen how the heiress used to live...and Tinsley being one and living all along in such a shady place, allowing a commoner like her to help her, be in her presence like that...made it so hard to believe.
"Yes...but she is my wife now...no heiress. Being my wife is the same as being a fucking Queen!"
Kian stated with pride in his tone. Yet he could not pinpoint out why she was resisting him so much now that he could provide for both her and the child, she was carrying.
"Hush! You dumb man! You could be earning seven figures...or more but you were a commoner, who married an heiress...do you know her worth??"
Jessica let out. It was the same as a commoner marrying a princess. And to that being pointed out, it was the root cause of all his insecurity so far.
Her status...her birth status had always been a problem to him. And the fact that everyone knew about it was another problem.
No wonder why Nathan, who could also be nominated as being an heir to the Anderson Industries so much boosted about himself being the right one for his wife....
...or how her own dead bastard of a father, arranged her marriage with a joke show heir like Herrington even when he could have found a better match for his only daughter.
It was only because they were all heirs while he was just a simple man, who had climbed up the ladders with his hard work and intelligence.
No matter how much he earned, how much wealth he had, it could be surpassing those heirs could ever have but still, he was just a common man.
And now that he knew the past...what he was, who's the son he was??
A gardener's son, the one who worked under her father...she was the daughter of his mother's employer...
"So does it means our marriage is invalid?? I m not fit to have her as my wife??"
Kian interrogated. He needed to know what people thought about their union.
Of course, it started as a marriage of convenience to protect her but with time, the meaning of their marriage had surely changed.
"Does not mean an heiress could not marry a commoner...princesses keep doing that...what I meant to say was you are a lucky man...or were..."
Jessica started. The old woman could see the hint of confusion, insecurity in the man's grey orbs as he questioned his own marriage.
"Something must have happened for her to leave you and come to live like that...leaving all the luxury comforts up, doing more than per time shifts in a bakery and diner to sustain herself, selling paintings in the city centre...an heiress, she was as you say...what could have gone wrong being married to you for her to leave everything behind?"
And it made Kian close his eyes, and the brief flash of her crying out in pain as blood spurted out from her core as she clutched her abdomen in ache, laying on the floor...circulated inside his head.
"I m curious to know about that..."
And the moment, Kian heard that he opened his eyes back. He could never let anyone know what had occurred for them to be separated or else this old woman here was going to help Tin in getting rid of him.
He just turned around, collected his Mercedes keys and strode towards the door.
"I cleared your suspicions...you know who I m...you know who she is but if I find one paparazzi lurking around here...I will not hesitate to sue you in the court old woman...I m grateful for all the help you had landed to my wife in my absence but her husband is here now...you better stay away from us now..."
Kian threatened, going off and Jessica just smiled at that young man's struggle to take his wife back home.
