The Last Incubus with The Vice and Valor System

Chapter 40: Discovery (Spatial ...)

Leon only looked at it to satisfy his curiosity but upon seeing the list, he was awed by how amazing these meals are.

From the names and descriptions alone, one could only imagine how delightful these dishes would be. But of course, just as Amelia said, the Phoenix Flame Roast stood out completely from the rest.

"I trust your judgment then," he said, smiling at her.

Despite feeling a pang of embarrassment that Amelia would be paying for their meal, Leon knew it wasn't his fault. Due to the circumstances of his transmigration, things suddenly became tense, and he wasn't given much time to earn anything. So, it really wasn't his fault at all.

As the meal was brought to them, Leon's eyes gleamed as he thought of something.

The server placed the Phoenix Flame Roast on the table with great care. The dish was beautifully presented, the roasted meat glistening with a tantalizing glaze, surrounded by an array of vibrant, roasted vegetables. The aroma was intoxicating, a blend of rich, savory spices and a hint of sweetness that made Leon's mouth water.

But then, Leon's eyes widened as an thought crept to his mind. Leon scoffed at his foolishness for remembering it only now.

'How could I overlook something as important and delicate as this?' he cursed inwardly.

But it couldn't be helped; he was not an avid reader of webnovels. If he was, he would definitely not have overlooked what he overlooked.

'Luckily, I didn't discover it too late. There's still time.'

With this discovery, his manly pride wouldn't have to get wounded. Amelia wouldn't have to pay for this meal; it would be his treat!

What's the discovery, you ask? It's a ring! A spatial ring! Leon suddenly thought of when Jake talked about cultivation books, where they make use of spatial rings to store stuff. Leon knew that he had this ring on him when he first awakened in this body. The owner of this body before must have been given the ring before he died and Leon transmigrated into the body.

And since this is a cultivation world, for him to have a ring, even though it doesn't seem special, there's a high chance that it's a spatial ring.

Instinctively knowing what to do, he willed his mana into the ring.

'It should work, right? Even though I'm using mana instead of the popular Qi energy used in this world.'

While his mana is said to be a completely different thing from Qi, it's technically the same thing since it's just a more powerful form of Qi.

As Leon infused his mana into the spatial ring on his right hand, the ring hummed slightly, and an image appeared in Leon's head.

It contained all the items in the spatial ring. While it consisted of only a huge number of spirit stones and a few alchemy healing pills, Leon was glad.

He was glad that his mana worked on the spatial ring as that would mean that he should be able to use mana openly without worrying too much. While Leon shouldn't have been able to know that those pills were healing pills, he knew from the information the spatial ring gave him.

Meanwhile, Leon, with a slight smile on his face, watched as the special attendant set the appetizing meal on the table. The Phoenix Flame Roast looked even more delectable up close, its succulent meat and perfectly charred edges promising a culinary delight. Amelia's eyes sparkled with anticipation, and she couldn't help but smile at Leon.

"This looks amazing," Leon said, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. "I can't wait to try it."

Amelia beamed at him. "I knew you would like it. This is one of the best dishes they offer."

They began to eat, the flavors rich and complex, every bite better than the last. The tension of the day melted away as they enjoyed their meal, the intimate setting of the restaurant allowing them to relax and enjoy each other's company fully.

As they ate, Leon's mind kept drifting back to the spatial ring and the possibilities it represented. He knew he would need to explore its contents more thoroughly later, but for now, he was content to enjoy this moment with Amelia.

He smiled, offering Amelia a bite. "Here, try this," he said, holding out a piece of the Phoenix Flame Roast.

Amelia complied, leaning forward to take the offered bite. She closed her eyes as she relished the taste, a delighted smile spreading across her face. The flavors danced on her tongue, rich and complex, with a perfect balance of spices and sweetness.

"This is incredible, Leon," she said, her eyes still closed as she savored the taste. "I knew you'd love it."

Seeing her enjoyment, Leon felt a warm satisfaction. He leaned back in his chair, still watching her with a smile. "I'm glad you like it. I have to admit, I've never tasted anything quite like this before."

Amelia opened her eyes, a mischievous glint in them. She picked up a piece of the roast and offered it to Leon. "Your turn."

He leaned forward, accepting the bite. As he chewed, he couldn't help but marvel at the dish's complexity. The meat was tender and juicy, with a smoky undertone that complemented the sweetness perfectly. "You were right," he said after swallowing. "This is amazing."

They continued sharing bites, each one bringing a new wave of flavors.

"Tell me, Leon," Amelia began, a curious look on her face. "What do you think of this place so far?"

Leon paused, considering her question. "It's different from anything I've ever known," he admitted. "There's so much to learn and understand. But I have to say, it's fascinating. Your physique most especially is the most intriguing of them all."

Amelia nodded, but then she suddenly looked at him straight in the eyes, a blush appearing on her face. She had been expecting some other reply, but Leon's teasing comment caught her off guard.

"It has its moments," Leon said with a chuckle. "But having you here makes it easier. You've been a great guide."

She blushed slightly at his words, a soft smile playing on her lips. "I'm glad I can help. And I'm glad you're here, Leon. You've brought something new into my life, something exciting."

Leon leaned back, still holding her gaze. "I think we've both found something special," he said softly.

They continued eating, sharing bites and savoring the flavors of the Phoenix Flame Roast.
